“Kraohhhhhhh!”

Pouring my mana into the earth, I activate the first performance of the day. Earth spikes molded by [Earth Strike] erupt from the ground en route to the three orcs.

They were easily dodged but that wasn’t the intention of this attack, as my goal was to divide the group up, so I can challenge them individually. The web of spikes divided itself to pursue each orc, leading them all away from the entrance. They might be able to break them but if the assault continues, they won’t have the breathing room to act on it.

The first trap is a success but there isn’t any time for me to take a break either. This is now the best time to fight, while the group is splintered. Time is not on my side.

Deciding to take down the tracker first, I make a beeline towards the place the tracker is supposed to be on my enemy sensor. I can’t speed up too much, as I need to conserve stamina. This fight will be long-winded and exhausting. The only way for me to win this is determined by how much I can sustain my stamina and mental fatigue!

Activating any of my traps will put a ton of stress on my mind. The complexity requires all 3 of my parallel minds to work simultaneously to function properly.

Therefore, the earth spikes will have to stop whenever I move.

When I arrived at the signal’s position, I was greeted by an arrow. I didn’t even need [Prediction] to activate ‘cause I anticipated something like that. That’s why I had no trouble dodging it.

“Suos hikki thalamus mah orc pah sullas?!”

Huh? Did that orc just speak? I mean, it sounded like proper words but I’ve no idea. Ahh, I wish I had a translation skill for languages or some way to communicate with her.

She was still readying the arrow when she said that, urging me to answer her now.

When I was caught by her, before I could kill her friend, I was able to use [Identify] on the rest of the orcs. They all had [Night Vision] at a higher level than mine, so I figured I should just have a [Light] follow me around. That would take any kinda advantage concerning the darkness away from this fight, to make everything even.

This is the reason why I could perceive her facial emotions and that was the reason why she shot an arrow at me. Easy to predict, right?

Looking at the orc, I can vaguely guess what she wants me to say, but even if I could speak, I don’t think she will like it.

“Krah.”

I nodded and let out a small voice.

Probably also guessing my intentions, her emotions went rampage with how her face switched from rage, sadness and unwillingness. I let her have a moment, giving her enough time to sort out her mental state, and promptly proceeded to shoot the arrow, screaming in melancholy. The arrow pierced through the air at a considerable speed, but it was nothing special with my reaction skills.

You, orc, should be the one to look out for projectiles. Let the second performance begin. A barrage of [Rock Bullets]!

A storm of rocks emerged from the wall behind her after I activated it with my mana. The orc was able to react in time but no matter how skilled you are, you can’t completely dodge a point-blank attack like this.

You should also not turn your backs towards the enemy!

Dashing towards the orc to attack her, I activate the second ability from my unique skill [Spark Fire Dragon]!

Holding my claws in a finger-snapping form, I snapped them against each other. The sound, similar to crashing a flint against steel, caused a spark to appear. The ignition heated up my claws in no time, prompting a large flame, larger than what [Imbue Fire] could create, to grow and cover my whole front feet with a blazing fire.

Spark Claws!

Leaping forward, I aimed for the orc's neck. My body moved so fluidly as if it was possessed by something and directed my attack with deadly accuracy. Unfortunately, the orc managed to swerve her body to the side to protect her neck, but she wasn’t fast enough to completely dodge my ability. Like cutting through soft tofu, my flaming claws dug into the orc’s left ear and severed it.

Activating a dragon ability costs both mana and stamina but it’s well worth the cost.

The smell of burned flesh swirled in the air with the orc’s screams of pain pounding my eardrums, agitating me to continue my assault.

Activating [Spark Claws] again, I lunged back to continue the pressure. Although in agony, the orc swiftly took out her hunting knife to defend herself from my onslaught of attacks.

Our clash continued awhile but I knew the orc couldn't hold on much longer.

This was the difference between a frontliner versus an archer. However, I am not a normal frontliner. To prevent any further loss of stamina, I cast 3 [Firebolts] using my tail and two wings as the spell’s origin. I might not be able to use them to fly, but it sure is convenient that I can still move and aim my spells with them.

The spells rammed onto the orc’s flesh and staggered her long enough for me to break both her bow and knife with my claws. Crack and crack, turning the orc’s weapon into nothing but junk. Oof, I can see the terror and desperation in her eyes and with this desperation, the orc launched her final attack, probably sensing that she can’t win anymore.

Hmph! Similar to my claws, I scrape my fangs on my other teeth to produce multiple sparks. With mana surging through my body, I allowed the sparks to use it as a fuel.

Dracarys! Spark Flame!

Like a sudden explosion, a burst of flames roared out of my mouth and engulfed the orc, afflicting her with panic and pain. The orc fell on the ground and continued to squirm around, while the last of her Health is slowly drained away. A futile attempt to extinguish a flame stronger than my [Fire Ball].

Tch, I don’t think I can put her out of its misery in time. The other two are here.

““Graaaaaarrgh!””

Using their immense strength, the two orcs turned the earth spikes blocking the way into dust.

No need for the uproar. Your turn will come soon enough~

The orc tracker is sure to die if I can prevent the other two from reaching her. [Identify] says its [Burned (Major)]. Good, that means I can fight them using all my mana, and I can wait for the level up for the mana refill…ahh, nein, nein, nein, nein! I don’t need to be cruel here!

I haven’t changed that much that I would start acting like a real monster by taking advantage of a defeated foe. Being ruthless in battle is one thing but leaving somebody to suffer from fire, when I can put them out of their misery, would be considered inhumane in my books. I wouldn’t want to die like that…

And besides, I don’t even need that kinda advantage anyways.

Still, that doesn’t mean I can’t expend it all at once now!

““Gra?!””

They will probably dodge all of it but while they are occupied with surviving that…

Sorry, for taking so long. You fought well.

I sunk my sickle-like claws deep into the orc’s throat and pulled them out, tearing out bits of flesh and blood. It wasn’t a decapitation but it felt like I was the Grim Reaper, swinging her scythe down.

“Grak! Gruuu…”

Experience has reached multiple breaking points. [Young Spark Fire Dragon *] has risen from [Level 9] to [Level 13] Attributes have increased due to level up Acquired 1000 skill points

Good. Time to escape before my smokescreen disperses. I construct a wall of earth spikes to block their way and ran for it.

The two remaining orcs are both warriors and both are about equal in strength. It might not be smart to actually take on both of them at the same time, but there is also a low chance that they will separate now.

I only have one trick left, if you don't count the remaining traps that haven't activated yet. Still, how do I separate the two? The surprise factor is gone now that they know they can break through my spike. The surrounding walls are quite sturdy but any wall I create now won't have the fortifications needed to survive an attack.

Tricky. Should I use my last stage card and try to separate them through sheer force? Or should I use a guerilla tactic and chip them down, while they are together?

Huh? Oh my, what is this? Can’t believe he can still move, after getting his feet pierced. Orcs really are resilient, but I wouldn’t bet he’s fully healed. Hmm, that does give me an idea though. Yeah, let’s do that!

Let's call this a little extra surprise for the show. To be honest, I hope this would work. It's just a random idea and I don't really know if it will work but it isn't too much of a problem if it doesn't.

A little bit of rock, a little bit of fire, a little bit of extra mana and there we have it. Kinda worried about the stability of it but it should be fine. I think I’ll place them around here, just between the entrance and where I will fight the orcs.

Good, now that, that's done; let's have the main event begin!

Arriving close to the two orcs, I decided to activate the last trick of the day. Releasing some mana into the ground, I controlled the interior of the wall standing in between me and the orcs and hollowed it out.

A one. A two. A one, two, three, four.

All buffs reactivate!

Creating a spark in my mouth again, I pour a considerable amount of mana this time to help grow the flame. I let the mana course through my mouth while having the new flame infuse with it to slowly grow it up. Keeping my mouth shut, my throat is starting to feel warm from the growing fire, but I knew from instinct that it needs a bit more time before the release, to realize its true potential.

Feeling like my mouth would explode soon from the fire, I opened my mouth and release the dragon’s breath.

Spark Fire Breath.

Like the eruption of a volcano, the inferno burst out of my mouth and demolished the wall standing in my way. The walls, prepared by me, splintered into giant pieces and launched towards the unsuspecting orcs.

““Gruuu?!””

Crashing rocks on wooden shields can be heard and although the stones are still grazing their bodies behind their shields, the damage isn’t worth mentioning. Then how about some fire! Moving my fire breath onto the two orcs, the scorch rammed against their shields.

It seems to be a defensive ability related to shields ‘cause they are holding up pretty well even with wooden shields. However, with how my breath is completely engulfing them, I don’t think it will take too long to break…huh?!

My prediction is telling me an attack is coming from the orcs, but how? Their archer is dead, and it didn’t look like they had any range weapons on them. Prediction is not always right, but it has been pretty accurate for me until now. I should believe in it, right?

…No need to ask ‘cause they just did it. Something came flying over to me through the flames. I avoided the attack that made my [Prediction] react to it. So, what is it?

Huh, a shield?

During my short inattentiveness a second shield came flying towards me; an attack that I couldn’t react to at all. You see, [Prediction] doesn’t trigger twice to the same danger, it only warns you how severe it is and where it comes from. I interpreted the warning that only one shield will be thrown but I didn’t consider the chance that the other orc would abandon his, too. That was my fault.

The shield smacked right into my jaw and stopped by breath before it could incinerate anything.

It hurts, but I need to endure it for now ‘cause the orcs are coming. Activating their spear abilities, the onslaught of spear stabs similar to the first orc began. The dizziness from having my head smacked is causing me to wrongly perceive the timing of the attacks, allowing some attacks to cut my skin.

Sheiße, I’m pushed on the defensive now and with both of them simultaneously attacking me, there aren't any openings that I can make use of.

[Exhaustion (Minor)] inflicted on [Young Spark Fire Dragon *]

Nein, not that again! I was hoping to not have to continue this fight any longer, when I did that attack but it seems like I brought myself even deeper into this brawl.

Hey parallel minds, I need you guys to talk and help me out here!

‘How about we activate the traps to distract them?’

‘That would require too much time and focus to do.

‘Use offensive magics and attack both?’

‘It might work if I have a small enough opening.’

On my request, all three of my parallel minds went through multiple strategies and ideas that they believe would work in this situation. As the information transfer barely had a delay, I was able to listen and respond to each one.

‘Become a pseudo tank with a constant stream of healing magic?’

‘You! Bad Idea! Next!’

‘Hey, wait! Why is that a bad idea!?’

‘Parallel mind #3, do you really believe we can survive all their attacks with our defense?’

‘Parallel mind #1 is correct. Our tanking spells and abilities aren’t enough to take all that, not to mention the pain!’

Parallel minds #1 and #2 were the serious ones in our quartet, so they made sure that everything worked just fine. They shot down #3’s idea with some pretty convincing arguments.

‘Hey, are you guys treating me as an idiot!? We can do it. If all three of us coordinate the healing, we can survive this easily.’

Parallel mind #3, on the other hand, is a bit reckless…

I can imagine her jumping in the air, ranting about nobody listening to her. It’s cute how she’s crazy enough to give a tantrum during a situation like this.

…And when I mean cute, I mean idiotic.

‘Original mind can't tolerate a ton of pain! If she gets hit, she…’

‘Krrukk!’

One of the orcs managed to stab my shoulder. Fortunately, it wasn’t particularly deep with how my scales were able to absorb most of the spear’s impact.

‘Fuck! Minor Heal.’

‘Thanks. But can you please come to a concession now! Our stamina just reached 0 and [Exhaustion (Minor)] is taking its effect on me!’

Can these girls hurry up already! This situation is very, very, very bad.

‘She’s right. Guys, look at how much a [Minor Heal] healed our Health! [Holy Protection] and [Air Shield] can soften most of the hits up. If you guys don’t have a plan, then just agree to mine!’

We may treat #3 as an idiot, but that doesn’t mean she really is one. She’s me, so she’s using my brain here! I am not stupid!

‘Urgh. Can we really do it with three minds though? The pain will ‘cause her to slow down, which means one of us has to help her with the movement. Are two really enough healing?’

Contrary to #3’s willingness to execute any kinda plan, #2 still hesitated and is wasting our very precious time.

I mean, I really don’t want to have to take on all those attacks, if I can help it. Still, somebody needs to decide already! Come on, girls!

Acquisition requirement fulfilled. [Battle Mind Lv. 1] acquired Proficiency requirement fulfilled. [Parallel Thoughts Lv. 3] evolved into [Parallel Thoughts Lv. 4] Battle Mind The ability of the user to think in a battle. Prevents most mind-altering effects, while the user is under battle. The skill will leave the user in a battle trance that will allow the user to move, think and reason faster and more efficient during a battle.

‘Hey, guys we got a good sk…’

‘Shut it with the pleasantries, new mind! Begin casting [Minor Heal], parallel minds two, three and four. I’ll help with our body!’

Poor parallel mind #4, she only wanted to say hi.

‘‘‘Understood!’’’

You guys are actually making me do this…

Accepting my fate, I strengthen my body with mana to subvert the effects of my exhaustion and launched myself unto the weaker one of the two orcs.

Ahhh, it hurts. I didn't even try to avoid every single hit anymore. If all of them are simple scratches and grazes, then my spells will be able to heal me up. My mana is depleting but my health is constantly staying in the green for that.

As all my minds are occupied with their individual tasks, I won’t be able to activate any of my spells while fully focusing on avoiding this spear frenzy. I have to rely on [Spark Claws], an ability, to attack.

My claws reignited back a red flame under my control and threw myself at a potential opening; gambling everything will be fine with parallel mind one helping my body. This attack made the orc stop his ability to defend against my attack.

Sadly, a wooden stick won’t be enough to defend against my claws. As the block was not reinforced with an ability, like the shields, the spear was easily torn in two by my claws, which continued to rip a part of his undefended chest and stomach.

‘Gruooooh!’

The other orc bellowed and continued an even fiercer hail of attacks. The attacks still hurt but with my [Pain Resistance] leveling up, I can easily continue this pseudo tanking. Upon reaching a range suitable for my claws, I engage the orc.

Compared to the tracker this orc was able to defend himself from my aggression. He probably learned from the other orc to evade my attacks instead of blocking them.

Smart choice, ‘cause my exhaustion is slowing down my agility quite a bit.

‘Hey, our mana is getting drained by using it on our body!’

‘Shut it, I know. To be honest, why are guys so active now? You guys barely talked until now.’

‘Does it really matter? Urgh, you’re unbelievable. #1, go help her already!’

#2 exploded in my face for complaining and essentially forced #1 to come to my rescue.

Parallel mind #1, assisting my body controls, used my claws to shave off bits of rock and dirt from the ground and flung them at the orc’s eyes. The dust cloud made from minerals and smoke blinded the orc.

I then jumped over the head of the orc. I took this opportunity to try to strike the neck of the orc, but he was able to defend and counterattack. I defended against it but isn't this the same stalemate as before? Hey parallel mind #1, how did that help?

*boom*

Woah! What the hell!

An explosion appeared out of nowhere! I and the orcs jumped at the eardrum splitting sound and discontinued our combat. At the same moment, all my parallel minds cheered at this sight, cheering that we just got rescued.

‘Wow, the bombs were stronger than we thought. Worrying about their instability might have been correct. We might have put too much fire in it.’

‘Huh, what?’

I let out weird confused sound to the words parallel mind #3 was saying. This prompted #1 to explain to me that our plan worked, with explosive efficiency.

‘Did you forget? The bombs we made. Enemy Sensor told me that the injured orc was in the room and was heading towards us.’

‘Ahh, I forgot to take notice of the sensor. But why did you make me jump…oh!’

The bombs I made were just an experiment. I was worried that I gave them too much power, and it seems I was right, however, this little accident just saved us from a possible loss! #1 made me jump over, so I wouldn't have to turn my head around or be in the sight of the orcs. Their attention was completely locked on the firework happening in the background. They turned their backs towards me and I now have a perfect angle to burn them all with one breath. Hell yeah!

‘Yup, that’s right. Giving it another shot should make for a grand finale, right?’

[Spark Fire Breath] was pretty underwhelming when I used it before, but this time it will work. I will make it work.

Forget the mana and stamina problems. A full-powered dragon breath!

With a spark and a roar, my fire breath surged out of my mouth. The roaring flames consumed the two unfocused orcs, while their cries of pain resounded throughout the whole room. The smell of their burned flesh began spreading, surrounding me with a sense of victory.

With the dying fires of my breath, the charred bodies of the orc could be seen. They were black, completely turned into charcoal. What a waste of good meat.

Rest in peace. That was a fantastic battle.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about the exhaustion. It reached the moderate stage too. Oh my gosh, my body hurts. Identify might have reached level 10, but I can use it on all my stats later on. I have too many skills and stuff I need to re-identify.

After all, its celebration time!

‘You guys can cheer too!’

‘Sure, we can but it won’t be of any use. If you cheer, we don’t have to cheer.’

‘Then what are you gonna do? We just beat 5 D rank monsters! Catapulted ourselves to level 20 and a new evolution chance. I am getting so hyped from just saying this!’

The hype is strong! I got to use my boss stage to its fullest and I’m now even able to evolve again. Five cheers for monster evolution!

‘We can also feel it and we are very hyped too. We are getting fucking strong but…’

‘…but we kinda need rest now.’

‘Besides parallel mind #1, all of us are seriously not feeling too good from using all those heal spells at once. You might not feel it, probably from how overpowered the effects of [Primal Magics] is but we have a headache.’

#2 said it in an annoyed tone but I can see her blushing and twitching her mouth, with a smile slowly forming. It would seem she wants to celebrate, too.

#3, contrary to her persistent reckless was now out of power, totally exhausted.

#4 just complained.

‘[Primal Magics]?’

‘Do yourself a favor and just fall asleep. As you said, you can analyze all the skills later. Your body and mind need sleep, so for our sake, could you fall asleep please?’

Uhm, ok?’

#1 asked me so politely that I just couldn’t reject it.

‘‘‘‘Thank you, good night.’’’’

And so, the fight against the orcs ended with every single parallel mind falling asleep before I could actually celebrate properly.

Sigh, what a bunch party poopers. Well, I do want to get rid of this exhaustion debuff as soon as possible, and there isn’t a safer place to rest than here, in my personally made home.

I’ll just construct a square around myself and take a good rest.

The show today was awesome. Can’t complain, even with the minor hiccup.
