《Reaper of The Wizarding World》Year Three Supplies (II)

After we finish breakfast Ron, Harry, the twins, and I stand in front of the fireplace waiting for everyone else to get ready.
"So how many classes are you taking?" I ask Ron and Harry curiously, I had asked Hermione before but I never asked these two.
"We are both taking Divination, Care of Magical Animals, and Dueling." Harry answers obviously happy with his choices, "What about you?"
"I'm taking everything."
Ron looks at me scrupulously, "Don't some classes overlap?"
I shrug, "I'll just do extra homework."
Harry sighs exhaustedly as Fred grabs my shoulder, "As expected of the great Master Black."
I grin at his words, "Are you guys going to start your shop up again this year."
They grin at each other, "We are, and more. You are sure to be surprised," George answers.
I am a bit suspicious of their secrecy but don't think much about it, "You joining the quidditch team this year Ron?"
Ron looks a bit shy, "I don't know, I haven't gotten much practice."
Fred and George quickly pull him close shaking his shoulders, "Don't let him lie to you Soren, he's been practicing almost every day." George speaks in an encouraging tone.
"He's a natural at blocking with his face," Fred says moving around Ron's head.
Ron struggles to get away as Molly, Percy, Charlie, and Ginny come down the stairs. I immediately notice that Ginny is wearing makeup, I only notice because I've never seen her wear it before.
Catching Harry staring I bump his shoulder and they both blush looking away.
"Enough playing boys it's time to leave," Molly says seeing Ron's now messy appearance.
Setting her large purse on the couch she turns to us, "Alright who wants to go first?"
As usual, I speak up first, "I don't mind. I'll meet you guys at Gringotts."

She gives me a smile as she gestures towards the fireplace. I nod as I grab a bit of floo powder and step inside the fireplace.
"Gringotts Bank" throwing the floo power at the ground the green flame washes over me and I appear inside the white stone bank.
Stepping out of the fireplace into the large entry hall I look around for any familiar faces. I stop as I spot Old Blood and Theo at a teller window in the very front of the bank.
A small grin comes to my face thinking of Old Bloods' reaction when he finds out who I am. Stepping past the line I tap Theo's shoulder causing him to jump.
"Soren?" He says turning to me holding his chest.
"Hey, how are you doing?"
He sighs, "Good, why'd you scare me like that?"
I shrug, "No reason."
"Theodore, who-" Old Bloods' old face freezes as he meets my eyes.
"Father?" Theo asks confused.
"Nice to meet you, Lord Nott. I am Soren Black, the young master of the Black family."
Fredrick slowly nods, "Of course, it is nice to meet you, Young Lord Black."
I laugh internally as the Goblin behind him gets annoyed, "Will that be all Mr. Nott?"
He clears his throat as he turns around, "Yes, that's all."
Theo seems confused at his father's attitude but doesn't suspect me at all.
"What brings you here Young Lord Black?" Old Blood asks as we begin walking towards the exit.
"To get my books for the year obviously, I was going to get money but I don't really need it." I gesture at my Mokeskin bag.
He nods, "I heard you won quite the large amount against the French Ministry."
"Yeah, quite convenient timing since I had a large and costly project in the works at the time." My smile grows as I see the twins quickly walking towards Gringotts.

Fred's grin grows as he sees me through the crowd and they walk faster. George reaches into his robe and seemingly holds onto something tightly.
"Why are they so excited?" Theo asks confused.
"They stole something from an ancient Egyptian tomb." Like father like son they both look at me with shock.
"I had always heard the Weasleys lacked talent, it appears I heard wrong." Old Blood says getting a glare from his son.
I just laugh a bit, "You miss most things when you only listen to others and don't look for things yourself."
George gets to us first and immediately gives Fredrick Nott a scrupulous look, "He's fine, show me what you got."
Both Fred and George look surprised at my words but George just shrugs as he pulls out a fist-sized bubble. It appears to be a soap bubble except it is full of water and there is a small bronze egg; seeing my confused face they both grin even more.
Fred pulls out his wand as George holds the bubble, with a flick of his wand it grows in size to slightly large than a watermelon. I notice Old Bloods' eyes immediately widen, he pulls out his wand and flicks it creating a translucent barrier around us.
"YOU BOYS STOLE A PHOENIX EGG?!" He says in the quietest yell I've ever heard.
"Pheonix egg?" The four of us echo.
"Yes, and it appears to still be cursed. How in Merlin's beard did you manage to steal a cursed item without breaking the curse?"
Entirely opposite of Fredrick's worry the twins are high-fiving each other.
"How did you two steal this?" I ask this time.
George smirks, "Using the money you gave us we made this bubble. It's a prank, it can trap someone inside and change their size at the caster's will."
"I thought it up," Fred says with a smirk.
George shoves his shoulder jokingly, "Well I made it."
Fred grins, "We plan to sell it at our store in school, we call it, The Trouble Bubble." George proudly grins alongside him.
"Quite ingenious," Theo says contemplating something I shake my head as Fredrick speaks up again.
"Lord R- Black, I would be careful with this egg, the phoenix is Egypt's sacred animal. If they find out you have a connection to someone who stole a phoenix egg things could get complicated."
I just shrug at his words, "They will never find out, can you break the curse?"
Old Blood nods, "I can, but it would take me a few days."
"Good, I'll pay you handsomely. How much do you two want for it?" The twins seem baffled by my words as if they hadn't thought this far.
"Five hundred," Fred says after a second.
I sigh at the low ball price, a powerful dragon is around a thousand so I assume a phoenix is around the same. From inside my 'coat', I pull out a bag of a thousand galleons.
"Here, give it to Lord Nott. Can you break the curse before I head off to school?"
Old Bloods' eyes widen as he takes the phoenix egg into his hands, "I can try." He meets my eyes before changing his words, "I will."
Changing its size to around the size of an egg he waves the wand again and the translucent barrier around us vanishes.
"Shall we go get our books?" I ask looking around.
Before anyone can answer I hear a voice behind me "Soren?" I turn to see Hermione and Daphne standing on the steps of Gringotts not far away.
I hold up a hand, "Yo."

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
