“He is an old-school villain.” Lady Number patiently replied.

“Does that change anything?” Farnsworth asked.

“Yes, it does.” The hero explained further as her powers began to work. “When Sweet Fist came out of prison, he could have gone straight. He could have just announced he is a mystic warrior, take in students, and make a lot of money. The chances of him being a successful training instructor is eighty-three percentage. He didn’t have to do anything illegal. He was gone for so long, no one even remembered him as a villain. However, he immediately went right back to his old job. Sweet Fist is not in the Game for the views, the streams, or the clicks. He is in the Game because he enjoys being the bad guy. He is a villain, and there is a sixty-nine-percentage chance he believes that this is his calling. In the old days, we would call him a lifer. He is in this for the long haul. He is not going to take some deal like Red Maddy, and he is certainly not going to go away willingly.”

Murmuring erupted again across the table as the executives discussed the revelations. Lady Numbers’ power informed her over two-thirds of the people in the room did not believe there was anything money couldn’t buy. So, she wasn’t all that surprised when Farnsworth asked his next question.

“Lady Numbers, how much money would it takes to buy him off? Give me a number?”

“Infinity.”

“What?”

“Infinity.” The hero said again. “The amount of money it would take to buy Sweet Fist off cannot be calculated. Honestly, with his powers and current reputation, money isn’t all that important to him. His priorities are different.”

“Then, what is important to him?”

“Respect, power, and maybe his family. I shall need more information on him before I can give you an exact number.”

That was the one thing about her power. Lady Number’s powers was not infallible. She could only calculate the odds and percentages based on the information she has. If she had faulty or outdated information, then the numbers would be off. Farnsworth knew that, accepted her words, sat back in his chair, and looked lost in thought. Everyone else began discussing Sweet Fist again.

“Maybe we should get the vigilantes involved.” One of the executives said.

“Vigilantes? Why?”

“Sweet Fist is a villain the heroes can touch due to legal red tape. They love going after villains like that. We spread the word he was the one behind the warehouse heist and-”

“Too risky.” Another executive said. “Vigilantes are notoriously unpredictable. Some of them have no problem killing innocent bystanders just to get to their man.”

“And that’s a problem for us because…?”

“If Sweet Fist managed to take them out, he becomes even more popular. We don’t want that.”

After a few minutes of discussion, Farnsworth finally asked.

“Do we know what was stolen from the warehouse?”

Everyone immediately shut up. One of the executives finally answered. “Works of art. Statues, paintings, and some miscellaneous items the Velocity Museum had in storage due to lack of space.”

“Anything rare, or important?”

Eyes turned to Lady Numbers. She knew where Farnsworth was going with this. It was a mistake. She answered anyway.

“Only one item could be considered important. A seventy-year-old golem that was taken from a raid in the Void-17 dimension. It is not operational, but it is the only golem we have from that dimension.”

“Then, we use that.”

“This is a mistake.” Lady Numbers warned.

Farnsworth ignored her and spoke to one of the executives. “Contact the people from the museum. Informed them that a generous donation will be made to the museum if they put out a bounty on the golem due to its rare and important historic value. Also, contact our people on the street. Sweet Fist has family in the city. Make life uncomfortable for them. I don’t think I need-”

“No.”

“Excuse me?” Farnsworth stared at the hero with a glare that could melt icebergs, but Lady Numbers was a member of the premier superhero team of a Named City. She refused to back down.

“That’s going too far. They are civilians.”

“There are rumors his daughter is working for him.” one of the executives said.

“That doesn’t matter.” The hero took a deep breath. “She is not a villain. At most, she is villain support. And even if she is a villain, she hasn’t been outed by the police yet. She has a secret identity. You go after her as a civilian, you are going to get sued. That is if you managed to survive everyone on both sides of The Game coming after you.”

The executives just laughed. “We know what we are doing.” One of them said. “The heroes and villains in The Game won’t be able to trace it back to us.”

“Who do we have at City Hall?” Farnsworth asked. “Tell them to look over the financials of the family. Get the fire department to look for violations at this diner Sweet Fist has. Send word out to the vigilantes as well. I want a full-court press. I want Sweet Fist to feel the pressure.”

“It won’t work.” Lady Numbers warned. “Sweet Fist is not someone who will be frightened off.”

“He will back off once we hit him where it hurts.”

“And if he doesn’t?”

Farnsworth just smile. “Then, he can look on as we burn everything down around him.”
