Choice 1. Use your wits?
Rule 1. You can't eat a meal without a song.
Rule 2. No song is complete without a repeat.
Rule 3. Rules 1 and 2 do not apply to fools.
Rule 4. Stand and you'll die.
Rule 5. Sit and you'll die.
(Crawl and sing.)
Sadly however, this would require him to ruin the last of his fine garments, robes made of felt that he had had imported from Calordia, and dropped down from his saddle with a groan.
The creature which had not moved, watched him with interest as he rolled about on the ground, and sang back, "soft and sweet, sweet as meat, how I'd like to eat your feet. Toast them, roast them, eat them raw. I don't care anymore..." Before he started to repeat the song again, feeling utterly ridiculous, lying there on the road, when the Keeper cackled with laughter. "Fool!"
The sudden darkness that surrounded him, tearing him free of his flesh, and floating him towards gaping jaws.
Death.
(Levitate 4, block it's voice 1, and sing.)
Sadly however, this would require him to use a great deal of mana, of which he had very little left, but then he supposed it was better than dying here, and quickly began to recite, "Light of the suns, fire of the heart, heed my call, and remove its voice."
The creature's startled red eyes, flared angrily, when Khorasan recited the next half of the spell, folded his legs up, and floated in the air. His voice a sing-song of motion as he cast it's own words against it, and saw fear recoil in its eyes. "soft and sweet, sweet as meat, how I'd like to eat your feet. Toast them, roast them, eat them raw. I don't care anymore..."

Unable to repeat its own song, and caught by its own rules as Khorasan floated in the air, not sitting or standing, he knew he had bested the creature. And if he so wished, he could consume it's soul, by completing the song. A fact that the creature knew all too well, and yet it could not leave, not once it had begun.
-5 Mana.
+2 Morale.
(Kill the creature.)
Smiling faintly as he sensed it's growing horror, he finished it off, "soft and sweet, sweet as meat, how I'd like to eat your feet. Toast them, roast them, eat them raw. I don't care anymore..." And watched it's misty form distort, break apart, before turning into a funnel of smoke, and settling inside Khorasan. The boost he felt at its strength, combined with his own disgust at having lowered himself to this.
+2 Mana.
(Threaten it to leave and never come back.)
Smiling faintly as he sensed it's mounting horror, he called out, "it seems that you have lost, Keeper. By the rules that you follow, I demand that you leave now and never return, or I shall take your soul."
Mistlike form quivering in the breeze, the disembodied face appeared out of the shadow, and bowed its head. "As you wish." And vanished away, leaving him back alone on the road with his horse.
(Levitate 4, block it's voice 1, and blow away mist 2.)
Sadly however, this would require him to use a great deal of mana, of which he had very little left, but then he supposed it was better than dying here, and quickly began to recite, "Light of the suns, fire of the heart, heed my call, and remove it's voice."
The creature's startled red eyes, flared angrily, when Khorasan recited the next half of the spell, folded his legs up, and floated in the air. His voice a tempest of wind as he blew away the mist, and revealed a hairless translucent body with its feet coming to rest upon the ground. Red eyes widened in shock, it opened its mouth to scream, before it exploded in a cloud of smoke. The fifth rule, never to stand, a weapon that banished it from this world.

-7 Mana.
+1 Morale.
(Continue.)
Magic released at last, he let out a heavy sigh, and not for the first time, he wished he knew more about them. Keepers for all their dangers, were far less of a threat compared to the other denizens that inhabited the Darker Plane, waiting for lost souls, and feeding on their own hatred and fear. His one visit to that plane of existence, an enlightening experience, if not utterly terrifying at how far a soul was twisted once it left its mortal coil, but that was neither here, nor there.
Patting his dun mare on the neck who seemed as equally disturbed, he wondered what could have brought the creature here, when he nudged his horseback into a trot. The outskirts of the small farming village that appeared ahead, a quiet haven of peace and tranquility as people went about their business, tending sheep, hanging clothes up to dry, or harvesting wheat for the mills.
