Eyes locked together in a battle of wills, you find yourself unable to look away from her malice filled gaze, your mind struggling to come up with a new plan of escape which seemed a little too regular for your liking. You'd think you would have learned from your past mistakes but all you can think about right now was the way the light reflected off her irises giving her eyes differing shades of red that intermingled and flowed like a river going round and round, drawing you in deeper and deeper until the room behind her vanishes in a swirl of smoke, and all that is left is you, and her, alone together surrounded by darkness.
She curves her lips into a savage smile and leans forward to press her fingers into your chest, her touch her so hot you feel as though her fingers would burn right through you, before whispering something in your ears that you can't quite hear.
Then as suddenly as a lion pouncing forward you find yourself falling through a pit of darkness, your body flailing about as the dark mage looked on from above, her shimmering pools of crimson light the only source of color in the darkness before she too vanishes from view. And even as you wonder how strange it was to be falling through the inky black darkness with no air to know how far down you were going, you abruptly come to a halt and memories that you hadn't thought about in years come to life before your very eyes.
You see the time you'd spent in the Wingdarts trying to emulate Lord Ice Eyes before realizing the futility of fighting for the weak. You witness the first time you'd seen the famed Honor Blades succumb to vengeance, allowing an entire town to be butchered for the loss of a single Honor Blade that had been slain in the street. And you remember the feeling of betrayal as a close friend of yours for many years, stabs you in back, almost killing you.
One memory after the another plays itself before you, taking you deeper into the abyss until all that remains is an overwhelming cold that seeps through your bones taking away all hope and desire, leaving you utterly empty.
And even though a piece of your mind screams at you that this isn't real, that you should find a way to fight back, you can't help but feel a certain comfort in the darkness, your heart beating in time to the sound of water dripping in the distance, followed by the whispering of a voice, "Tell me what you know of the Pact of Fire."

The voice insistent, brushes against your mind offering you warmth and light in exchange for words, but what she does not know is that you like the darkness. You revel in the way it conceals you completely, hiding you from your enemies, caressing your skin like a long lost lover. The darkness is your home, and you do not wish to leave it just yet. (+20 Health points.)
More questions come but your thrust them all aside, all but ignoring her voice, and instead choose to drift through the sea of darkness, frolicking in it's waves. The voice becoming angrier, and angrier causing you to laugh.
You can sense the dark mage's fury and take great delight in her frustration. Who did she think she was offering you light?
The voice quiets inside of your mind as though reading your thoughts, before coming again, this time offering you power and prey. Images of undead armies march beneath your banners, Kings, Queens and mighty Lords bend their knees to you, and vast lands filled with untold riches are offered to you. All of this she offers you in exchange for words, and like a child hungry for food you open your mouth to accept when something violently pulls you back.

The voice insistent, brushes against your mind offering you warmth and light in exchange for words, and although every instinct tells you turn away and leave this place, you hungrily reach out for it like a starving man, your fingers blindly groping the darkness, aching to return to the warmth of the light. And in that moment you see armored warriors in silver steel glowing with inner light, welcoming you to take a step forward and join their mighty order, asking you to speak the words that she seeks when something violently pulls you back.
Legs shaking, you find yourself face to face with a tall orc dressed in flame red robes, tinged with reddish skin, his face crinkled up in concentration, arms raised up above his head holding back ominous red clouds. The clouds crackling with strange energy. The orc sweating heavily. "You must fight back! Fight back now! I cannot defeat her alone!"
And as though waking from a dream, you recognize Daedalus's voice, his words piercing the veil that had surrounded your mind, tearing it asunder. "Daedalus?"
Sweat trickles down the sides of the orc's face, his eyes burning with bright orange flames, his jaws clenched shut as he grunted in reply.

Eyes blinking rapidly in shock at finding him here, you quickly turn your attention back towards the noxious red clouds above you when a bolt of lightning sizzles dangerously closeby, blurring through the darkness to warm your skin. And without knowing what it was, you could sense the destructive force behind it, hinting that it might not be wiser to not linger here for too long.

You raise up your arms and collect the energy pooling through your limbs before drawing it forth in a blast of red energy that shatters the clouds into a thousand shards of red glass that float into the endless darkness, sapping you briefly of strength. (-10 Health points.)

Heart pounding like a drum, you lift up your arms and try to draw upon the mana that had become almost like another appendage to you and feel nothing, your fingers floundering blindly unable to draw forth magic. Only to be hit with the sudden realisation that you could not draw upon what you didn't have anymore. The cloak upon your shoulders was gone and in it's place was Daedalus struggling to hold back the bubbling red energy, a lightning bolt slipping free to blast into your shoulder, smoldering the skin and filling you with incredible pain.(Permanently remove -20 Health points, you'll need to click the above option to continue.)
Daedalus his face drawn with exhaustion, slumped down beside you, both of his arms blackened with dozens of scorch marks upon his flesh. The wizened orc letting out a light chuckle as he stood back up with a smile on his lips. "Ahhh how I've missed the rush of battle.
"I know you have many questions my friend but we will have to forego them for now, Tyrene has grown considerably more powerful than the last time we've met, and it won't be long before she returns you to the flesh. Be sure tell her nothing. She may torture you for awhile but she'll soon grow bored of it and leave you to her underlings which is when you should strike."The flesh on his arms gradually began return to their odd shade of red, his skin knitting itself back up.
And while a part of you is amazed at seeing Daedalus and finding out he was an orc of all things, you are more annoyed by the fact that he has stopped calling you master. After all, you'd becoming used to hearing it from him and it did have a certain ring to you. Plus it also makes you wonder what it could mean for the future of your partnership? But instead of saying what was on your mind, you ask, "How is it you are here with me?"
Daedalus grinned. "We are bonded you and I, both in spirit and body. Still it seems quite remarkable that I would retain my body here of all places. Not that there is anything wrong with your mind per say but it usually takes a degree of skill to enter another person's mind and we've done it effortlessly as though we were joined for a millennia. I believe this bond will serve us well, very well indeed." And for a brief second you could have sworn you'd seen a gleam of hunger flash across his face that instantly makes you wary.
Brows furrowed, you open your mouth to ask him more about the bond when you notice the air shimmer around you, the fabric of darkness becoming almost tangible like spilled oil before slowly dissipating away with Daedalus crying out something to you before the orc fluctuates and vanishes completely.
Then as suddenly as it all began you are back in the cold dark room with the mage staring daggers down at you, her eyes filled with fury as she shrieked, "How did you break free?! Tell me?! Who helped you?!"
But whatever you were about to say is lost in a wave of agony as fiery hot acid courses through your veins causing you to jerk back and forth against the stone chair. Drool dribbling out from between your lips, and corroded black blood trickling out from your pores, the fire burning deep within you. (-40 Health points.)
Teeth clenched, you try to not scream but it was all you could do to keep your mouth shut and when she saw that was not enough, a flame whip materialised in her hands, forcing you to groan in despair as she lashed it against your skin, each time asking you a different question before cracking the whip forward to melt your flesh, the sizzling hot flames biting deep. "I know you had help?! Who was it?! Where are your friends?! Where are they hiding?!"
