Free at last from the confines of the cage, you stare up into the night sky, feeling the brush of the wind against your skin mixed in with sweat trickling down your back. And for a brief moment you are unsure what to do next, until the image of Ganrel appeared within your mind's eye. The cowardly werewolf lounging easily inside the safety of his camp, laughing at you, mocking you with his golden eyes.
Fury and rage course through your veins like a red hot dagger, the need for vengeance coiling deep inside of you and while a part of you had come to peace with Ganrel's betrayal since that is what you might have done were you in his position, but the act itself had stung much more than you had liked to admit. You had let down your guard and Ganrel had pounced upon it, betraying you the instant an opportunity had presented itself. He would need to pay for that and pay dearly.
Your skills may suffice against Ganrel alone, but with his whole pack behind him, you would be cut down within an instant of reaching the camp. You could of course rely upon your magic, but much of your mana had already been drained away and there was still the chance you would come across Balgrum.
Using your own life force to power the spells could be dangerous, especially with the amount required to both protect yourself and keep up a steady rein of attacks, but in the end would it really be worth it?
Anger seeping away, you watch the stars glimmer to life in the sky and wonder if you were allowing your anger to hinder your judgement. The werewolves were no longer a threat to you, you could leave this place far behind and continue your journey, there was no need to return and face them. If you traveled all night, you may even be able to reach the Nameless Islands to the north west.

But as your feet start to move in that direction and unbidden thought comes to you. What would happen to the werewolves once Balgrum discovered the sacrifice was missing? Would the giant bring his warriors down upon the werewolf camp in retribution? And what of Ceeren? She had not played a part in this deception, she was far too young to have known what would happen. Would she suffer as well?
You gnash your teeth in frustration at your indecision.
7. Do you return to the camp and attack with your magic, slaying only the adults? (Mana cost 42)
Thrusting aside all emotion, you travel back towards the werewolf camp, drawing upon the magical energy within yourself, and feel your flesh become feverishly hot to the touch, the magical energy seeping through your body to surround you in a soft blue aura. The power of your life force flowing through your veins filling you with both pain and pleasure.
Ganrel had lied to you, poisoned you and thrown you in a cage and while you can forgive most things, he had tried to use you as a sacrifice to save his own miserable life and those of the werewolves around him. An unforgivable act. The fool was weak, and soft, and so he would die along with all those he had tried so hard to save, a fitting punishment for one such as he.
Casting awareness, shield and summoning the dagger, you stomp towards the camp, wrapping the cloak tightly around yourself and catch sight of two sentries on watch at the edge of the beach.
Hands flickering upwards, you hurl two firebolts so fast they have no chance to think, the pair screaming out in agony as they attempted to put out the flames that clung to their fur, their panicked minds unable to realise that salvation lay only a mile away. The sea sparkling in the darkness.
Three more rush towards you, their claws extended and you slip to the side to avoid a slash, a firebolt shooting out of your fingertips directly into the face of one, blinding the creature and melting it's fur to expose raw red flesh, your dagger silencing it's screams, before driving it deep into the second and elbowing the third in the chest as you release a firebolt at point blank range to end it's life as well.

Cold as ice, you continue to sweep forward releasing one firebolt after another with great precision to burn three more alive. Slaying those with your dagger who got too close, their claws sliding across your cloak, before being cut down with a quick slash to the throat, the wickedly sharp weapon piercing their skin with ease.
Much of your mana drained, you focus your attention on dodging and weaving your way in amongst them, your cold calculating eyes finding weaknesses and exploiting them. The werewolves unable to penetrate the hardened shield that surrounds you, the fools beating their claws uselessly against it.
Screams echo dully at the back of your mind, blood soaks your boots, and you see Ganrel ahead of you with Panella herding the children away into the forest.
Mouth curling up into a half snarl, you race forward to meet him, dagger meeting claw in a blistering series of attacks with neither of you gaining the advantage.
Whipping the dagger towards his golden eyes, you slip forward, press your fingers to his chest and release a firebolt directly into him, causing his mouth to gape open in surprise, the great werewolf crumpling to his knees.
As he lies dying in your arms with a hole in his chest, you whisper in his ear, "You should have killed me." Then as he watches you with golden eyes filled with hate, you pick up the dagger and give chase to the young wolflings, the magic inside of you enhancing your speed to reach them quickly, but instead of killing them you scan the forest for Panella and see her come charging towards you, tears of rage spilling down her cheeks as she tries to attack you from behind.
Stepping aside easily, you casually slam your blade into her throat and watch the light dim slowly from her eyes as she stares at you in horrified disbelief.
Ganrel's labored cries of panic, fill the air as he struggles on hands and knees to reach you, but even he is no match for death, his last view of this world was of you killing her.
The battle done, you scan the carnage left in you wake, before quickly searching the camp for food and gold.

Not long after that, you hear the thunder of footsteps and turn back to see seven red armored giants enter the camp, their leader a massive giant head and shoulders taller than rest with a thick beard that stretches down to his chest.
Balgrum took one look at the piles of dead and sent his warriors to haul them away, before vanishing back into the forest.
With nothing left for you here, you stride north along the shoreline, and lift your gaze up to the next horizon, your quest not yet complete.
