(Restore half of your natural Resilience Points.)Swiftly moving away from the dining hall, you continue your downward descent, battling your way through small bands of feral dwarves and demonic creatures that cross your path.
(To see how much life you still have left after battling these creatures. You will need to battle the creatures below, following the same rules as you would in an arena battles with a few exceptions. If your unfamiliar with the Arena rules please go back and read them, before continuing.)
1.) Your resilience is restored to it's full amount each time you slay a creature.
2.) You must complete at least two battles, before proceeding on with the story. You can also fight all four battles if you so choose.
3.) You can use your potions for these battles.
4.) You can use your racial skills in these battles. You convert each round into scenarios. For example: If I have a scenario skill that is activated on the 3rd scenario, I will use in the 3rd round of a fight with a creature.
5.) You may also use your companions to reduce amount of damage you receive, and boost your weapon damage. However normal rules apply and you can only use one companion to help you in each fight.

Battle Four
Spoiler: Spoiler
More Demonic Creatures sweep down from the ceiling above, striking at you with their talons and claws.
After you defeat the creature. ( You collect 80 gold pieces from their bodies.)
Panting for breath, you charge down another hallway, chased by a throng of demonic creatures that shriek from behind you, sending you chills down your spine as they flap their way towards you. Arms sore, legs aching and back on fire. You know it's only a matter of time before you collapse from exhaustion with Lorna and Dywin not doing any better than you. Gasping for air, you ask Dywin to find a safe spot to rest up and catch your breathe. The old dwarf, sweat pouring down his temples, nods his head.
With no time to lose, you continue sprinting down the hallway, following the nimble old dwarf, who leads you down another passageway. The sounds of flapping wings and shrieks drawing closer and closer with each passing second, when at last the dwarf takes you through a small antechamber, heading for a doorway at the far end of the room. He opens the solid metal door and gestures everyone inside, before closing the door shut and locking it.
Dropping to your haunches, you take in deep gulps of fetid air, before looking around at your surroundings and realise your in a dwarven smithy. Squatting down not too far from you is the largest forge you have ever seen, filled with black coal that has long since gone cold from disuse, and a pair of metal tongs. Hammers and other tools hang on the walls around you from hooks, aswell as a few decent weapons that might be useful to you. (Collect a -2 Damage Hammer, - 4 Damage sword, + 1 Resilience shield.) There are also a few empty barrels that lie piled up to together in the corner of the room. As your eyes adjust to the dim lighting, your eyes also catch hold of something gleaming at the rear of the room. Mouth dry with excitement, you get up and walk towards the back of the smithy and see a dormant Wardemon. The colossal dwarven weapon looms up out of the darkness, like a great metallic beast. It's razor sharp blade still attached to the solid arms, shining dully in the gloom.

Dywin seeing your fascination with the great dwarven construct, makes his way over to your side, beaming with pride. "Quite the beauty aint' it?"he proclaims grandly. "15 inch thick iron skin, able to open slits in it's armor to allow crossblades to fire, razor sharp blades that can extend to over 5 meters, and able to move rapidly across open ground." Gorrak snorts derisively in response to the Dwarf's exuberance, and moves to position himself by the door. While Lorna her face pursed in thought sits down on the stone floor with a look of disgust, and closes her eyes. Probably to mediate or rest.
You stare with utter fascination at the gigantic dwarven structure for a few moments longer wondering if the weapon still works, listening to Dywin drone on and on about the capabilities of the Wardemon, when you decide now's a good time to get some shut eye, before all hell breaks loose again. Sighing with regret, you walk away and take a seat by Lorna, who sniffs her nose at the smell you bring along with you. Dywin on the other hand continues to study the Wardemon. (Restore 15 Health Points to all surviving party members including yourself.)

Spoiler: Spoiler
Silently you sit together for awhile, when Lorna suddenly breaks the silence. "I guess it's time I told you the real reason I am here. I should have told you this earlier, but it's difficult to trust anyone, especially with this kind of knowledge. Have you heard of the book of Maglencloid?" You shake your head. She looks away from you and stares off into the distance. "The Maglencloid is a powerful tome, created by the Celestial Demons to tap into their true demonic powers. It is rumored that the Celestial Demons created this book to release more of their energy into the world, and that with it they can more easily harness the demonic energies all around us." She pauses, her eyes becoming weary with tiredness. "We've learned that the demoness Sarsonel knows the location of the book, and it is our duty as demon hunters to find and use this book against them." Your mouth drops open in surprise. "You and Gorrack are demon hunters?" she nods her head and smiles tiredly for the first time, before lying down to get some sleep. Leaving you with thousands of questions.
You wake up a hour or so later to sound of something scratching at the metal door. Gorrak his body stiff with tension, gestures at you to wake up the still sleeping Lorna. Not sure how she can sleep through this noise, you lean over and shake her awake. And quickly press a hand to her mouth, when she tries to speak. You then point over to doorway to where the sound of scrabbling has intensified.
1. Do you order Lorna and Dywin to the rear and prepare to battle these creatures alongside Gorrack?
2. Do you ask Lorna to use the Fire Fists spell the second the door opens, if you still haven't used the scroll already?
3. Do you ask Lorna for the Demon's blade scroll, if you still haven't used the scroll already?
4. Do you use the invisibility scroll, if you still haven't used the scroll already?
5. Or do you try hiding in the Wardemon?

After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
