《Ranker's Return》Chapter 651

Hyeonu stared at the magic spirit that was emitting intense purple light. His mood was obvious from the sweat on his forehead and the moisture on his hands.
‘What changes am I going to see?’
It was only after a message window appeared that the magic spirit became this way.
[The skill proficiency of Magic Spirit Creation has increased to B-.]
It was a message saying that the proficiency of Magic Spirit Creation rose from C+ to B-. This was a rise of one rank. On the surface, it seemed like that was all, but it was actually more important than that. The ranking changed from C to B; the difference between C and B was huge.
Rank B was the section where the power of the skill appeared in earnest. It could never be reached by using the skill in an ordinary manner. Without talent, an enormous effect was needed. It was only by repeatedly improving the skill proficiency that one could reach rank B.
Of course, rank A was also incomparable with rank B. The difference between rank A and rank B was greater than the difference between rank B and C.
‘Oh, is it over?’
Hyeonu watched the flashing light and felt that the change in the magic spirit was coming to an end. Soon, the flashing light completely disappeared. Standing there was a purple bear with no change in appearance from before. The purple bear touched all over its face and body with its short paws. It seemed to be looking for changes. Unfortunately, there were none. The magic spirit was still the same.
“What? It’s still the same,” a voice burst out of the magic spirit’s mouth. Without knowing it had spoken out loud, the magic spirit continued to grumble, “I thought something had changed... I can only make one beggar-like bead. What is this? Spit!”
A small purple bear was on one paw of the magic spirit, who spat onto the ground with a disappointed expression. The bead looked similar to the ones Tang-E summoned.
“What? Only? Stupid guy! How can you call the heart a beggar-like bead?” Tang-E appeared in front of the magic spirit in an instant, shouting and flicking his finger against its forehead.
The magic spirit held its forehead and shouted at Tang-E, “Groan! Stupid bear, why did you hit me?! Do you want to try it once?”
“Bah, come on! Let’s see who the stupid bear is!” Black flames started to burn around Tang-E’s paws. Tang-E started to control his magic power in earnest. In fact, he had also used his magic power in the previous finger flick. The magic power control he learned from Hyeonu’s nagging was being used in a place like this.
“Hyeonu, shouldn’t you stop it?” Reina looked at Hyeonu with a worried expression as the atmosphere seemed like it would explode right away. She wanted him to stop it.
Hyeonu shook his head and said, “This is a great opportunity to recognize the abilities of the two guys. They also already know this. That is why I’m watching. Don’t worry too much because it won’t go beyond this.”

He didn’t feel that this situation was a major problem. Rather, he saw it as an opportunity to see the changes in the magic spirit to a certain extent.
‘Originally, kids get along by fighting. I know what the two of them are thinking, and they absolutely won’t use all their power.’
How could they fight with all their might when looking at themselves? If that happened, Hyeonu would no longer tolerate it. He would boldly use his hands.
“Bring it on, purple guy.” Tang-E moved the center of his body backward. Then he raised one of his paws as he looked upward.
“Purple guy? What is the yellow guy saying?” the magic spirit spat out and flew toward Tang-E. It was a traceless movement. This was the Mysterious Sky Steps Hyeonu used.
In an instant, the magic spirit appeared in front of Tang-E with his paw pulled back. It was taking a full swing to deal a finger flick, the same attack he had suffered. The magic spirit’s paw seemed like it would hit Tang-E’s forehead at any moment. However, the moment the magic spirit’s paw was about to reach, Tang-E’s figure disappeared.
‘I thought this would happen,’ Tang-E thought.
Tang-E had watched the magic spirit’s battles until he was tired of them. He had watched Hyeonu fighting several times more than that. So he knew how to respond even if he couldn’t fully see through the Mysterious Sky Steps. The vanished Tang-E appeared behind the magic spirit and stretched out his paw toward the magic spirit’s back.
The magic spirit was hit by Tang-E’s paw and rolled around on the ground. “Eeeeeh!”
In an instant, the magic spirit rose up and made an attack posture again. Just then, a white hand weighed down the magic spirit’s body.
“That’s it for the pranks.”
The magic spirit heard Hyeonu’s words and relaxed his body. Then he climbed onto Hyeonu’s body and took his place on Hyeonu’s shoulder. Hyeonu turned his head and spoke while staring at the magic spirit: “By the way, you are able to talk now.”
“Words suddenly popped out of my mouth,” the magic spirit said in a serious tone.
However, Hyeonu got goosebumps at the way the magic spirit spoke.
‘What is wrong with this tone when he looks exactly like Tang-E?’
“Hey, don’t speak like that. I’m getting goosebumps. In the future, speak in the same manner as Tang-E. Act pitiful in moderation, and in battles, cover people in moderation. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
The magic spirit nodded at Hyeonu’s words. If this was what its master, Hyeonu, wanted, the magic spirit would do so.
“Tang-E, you come here as well.” Hyeonu turned to look at Tang-E standing far away. Tang-E was kicking the innocent rocks on the ground. He kept breaking the stones like he hadn’t heard Hyeonu’s words.
‘What’s wrong with him?’ Hyeonu wondered inwardly.
“Is it puberty?” Hyeonu sighed lightly and walked toward Tang-E. “What’s wrong with you? Haven’t you been a bit upset lately? Is there a problem at Bung Bung Island? What’s wrong with you?”

“It’s nothing, Master dude.” Tang-E shook his head.
“It isn’t nothing. Then tell me later when you want to talk. I’ll listen to you anytime. Don’t be upset alone.”
“Understood, Master dude.”
“You sure are good at answering…” Hyeonu sighed again before bending over to hug Tang-E. “If you keep saying this, I have no choice but to worry. Understood?”
“Understood, Master dude. I won’t do it in the future.”
“I’m not saying don't do it. I’m just asking you to tell me. Don’t suffer alone.”
Hyeonu’s continued words made Tang-E raise his paws to cover his ears. After a while, he covered his eyes instead while his feet covered his ears.
“In addition, magic spirit, you should call Tang-E by ‘older brother’ in the future. He has lived longer than you and eaten tens of thousands more pieces of meat than you. I won’t forgive a mutiny. Tang-E, just think of it as having a younger brother and take care of him.” Hyeonu stroked Tang-E’s head with his free right hand while his left hand continued to hold Tang-E.
“Little brother?! Do you mean I’m above him?” Tang-E suddenly raised himself up and hung himself around Hyeonu’s neck.
“You are the older brother. He was just born,” Hyeonu said.
No matter how high the magic spirit’s level was, it was still only one year old. It had been less than a year since Hyeonu met John Blake and produced the magic spirit. In comparison, Tang-E’s age couldn’t be guessed. No one had told Hyeonu what it was, and he didn’t want to know. However, he was sure that Tang-E was older than the magic spirit. This was because Hyeonu had already spent a lot of time with Tang-E.
“Huhu, I am the older brother. I am the older brother...” Tang-E hummed with a deep nasal sound. He raised his head and looked at the magic spirit. “Little brother, hurry up and greet me. I am the older brother.”
Tang-E had an elated air after Hyeonu’s words.
“Brother Tang-E.” The magic spirit bowed his round head.
“Yes, little brother. Let’s get along well in the future.” Tang-E nodded several times.
“Hyeonu, don’t you think the magic spirit needs a name now?” Reina walked toward Hyeonu’s side. She was able to smile now that the matter had worked out in its own way between Tang-E and the magic spirit.
“A name?” Hyeonu cocked his head as Reina approached him. He had never thought about it before. The magic spirit had always been ‘the magic spirit’.
‘Indeed... Now that he has an ego, I can’t just call him the magic spirit.’
“Come to think of it, I think he does need one,” Hyeonu agreed.
“You have to give it a good name. I think it would be better if it were a cute name like Tang-E,” Reina said.
“A cute name...” Hyeonu was lost in thought. He was thinking about what to name the magic spirit.
‘It should be a name that goes well with Tang-E...’
Hyeonu’s worries didn’t last long. Based on the way Tang-E was named, Hyeonu quickly came up with a name for the magic spirit.
“Your name is Gom-E, Gom-E.” [1]
Hyeonu named the magic spirit ‘Gom-E’.
The magic spirit muttered the name Hyeonu mentioned in a small voice, “Gom-E... I have a name as well...”
Then a change occurred again in the magic spirit’s body.
“What is this now?” Hyeonu was so troubled by the transformation that he felt drained. The amount of magic power flowing outside was enormous.
‘It isn’t outside... Is it flowing to the magic spirit?’ Hyeonu cautiously felt the movement of the magic power. Then a message window appeared in front of Hyeonu. It was a message that explained the current situation very clearly.
[The magic spirit has acquired a name.]
[The ego has become more solid.]
[The skill proficiency of Magic Spirit Creation has increased to B+.]
In an instant, the rank of Magic Spirit Creation jumped two levels. This was a ridiculous rank up considering that from starting from rank B, the proficiency rose at a tremendously slow pace. It was only when the magic spirit had sucked up half of Hyeonu’s magic power that magic power no longer flowed to the magic spirit.
After a while, the magic spirit opened his closed eyes. The magic spirit had an innocent expression. “My name is Gomi. My name is Gomi. My name is Go...” The magic spirit repeated the same words over and over again.
Reina burst out laughing when she heard that. It was because the actions of the magic spirit were so cute. Hyeonu frowned and corrected the error in the magic spirit’s words: “It is Gom-E, not Gomi. Gom-E.”
The name of the magic spirit was not Gomi. It was Gom-E.
“Understood, Master dude. My name is Gomi.” The magic spirit, Gom-E, continued to say his name incorrectly despite Hyeonu’s correction.
Hyeonu tried to point it out, but he eventually just tolerated it. It was all the same anyway.
‘If you say it quickly, it’s fine.’
However, it should be made clear when writing or pronouncing it slowly. That way, the original meaning would emerge when he was called along with Tang-E.
“Then the two of you should hold hands and reconcile. Hurry.” Hyeonu put the purple bear and golden bear down on the ground. The two bears stood on the ground and stared at each other. At first, the purple bear looked a bit sad, but he soon approached the golden bear first.
“Brother Tang-E, please look after me well in the future.”
“Yes, let’s get along well, Gom-E.”
The two bears grabbed each other’s paws and shook them up and down.
“Pffft!” Hyeonu laughed at the sight. “Puhuhuhu!”
‘The Gom-Tang duo...’
He couldn’t resist laughing.

Slave 53: The Phoenix
Azgarth is a violent Warlord from a planet where everyone feared him, a man that never lost a battle whether it be from his enemies surrendering or dying. After entering a wormhole, this once infamous man had his memory completely wiped. He was enslaved under the name 53. The great comet arrived one day and gave 53 an extremely rare animal aspect, the Phoenix. Having a rare animal aspect puts people on the fast track to power in this world. Will 53 show the same brutality as his former self? Author: So there will probably be a lot of changes when I start hashing out the whole classes and what not. I'm not planning on this to have statuses or anything like that, but when people 'lvl up' is probably going to be something like ascending 1, 2, 3, etc. With each ascension they are many times stronger, for example, someone who hasn't ascend at all would be at 0, but someone with a 1 would be about 5x stronger than someone who is 0 and so on. It would take a long time to reach each one. With the red colored marks which represents fire, I have a couple ideas with what I want to do, in a way a battle royale, as this continent they are on isn't very large, but all four elements are on it (or more, I might add light, dark, and some others) but all the humans have red, while a different alien race has blue (water), brown (earth), and grey (Air). The color of the mark they have influences how they feel about each other, a example of that would be if a red saw a brown, then they would naturally feel a disgust about each other, and if they killed someone from a different color they would gain way more life essence which is needed to ascend than they would killing someone from their same color. The last thing, I'm not too sure about the main character yet, as I like the whole idea of a memory wipe, I almost think it'd be more entertaining to have the guy slowly regain all his memory, then just becoming his normal self again. If that's the case I'll have to change the title of book. The original idea was this guy would keep the name 53, and his prior self named Azgarth is sharing his body, as in he can talk to him and give him advice on things since he doesn't want him to die since he is sorta like a split personality sharing the same body. Looking at it now, idk if I want this guy to be named 53 forever. Warning: A lot of dark content in the book, especially in the flashbacks.
