《Refining the Mountains and Rivers》Chapter 1054 – Discovering With his Own Strength

Black Astral let out a breath, “This play has finally come to an end. I still cannot figure it out. Since we have a trump card like Liu Huo in our hands, as long as we toss it out then Shadowless Demon will obediently assist us. Why did we have to go through so much trouble?”
Old Fox glanced at him and said, “This Shadowless Demon has always been naturally discreet in everything he does. If we were to lay our cards on the table he wouldn’t necessarily believe us. In fact, he would even suspect that we are laying some kind of plot to trick him. You are a Demon Commander so you have the qualifications to look at the most wanted lists in the abyss. You should know what sort of amazing rewards he has accumulated by now. Even you and I would be moved by that amount, so it's natural that he is worried.
“So we had no choice but to accompany him in this play and let him discover it on his own initiative so he slowly comes to believe us. We would only need to push the boat a little. After all, the attacks of the beast tide outside the city have been growing increasingly strong. The three Demon Commander level demon beasts cannot hide forever. There isn’t much time left for us.”
Black Astral was silent. “Old Fox, in these past years, how come I haven’t found anyone craftier than you are? Even the difficult Shadowless Demon fell into your plot. I think you also have your own reason for doing what you did today?”
Old Fox smiled and laughed, “That’s right, because in the past I played a little trick on him and I’m afraid he has constantly been reflecting on it for all these years. I deliberately let him see through all of this because I want him to feel better about himself. This will make things smoother and help erase the grievances between us.”
“You damned Old Fox!” With a roar, Shadowless Demon, who had supposedly left, suddenly popped his head out from thin air. While he was covered in black robes and one couldn’t see his expression, it wasn’t too difficult to guess that he was clenching his jaws right now.
“Good, you are very good! Let me tell you, once this matter is finished, you and I will still not be done!” After he said that he vanished from sight.
Black Astral glanced at Old Fox, gloating in his misfortune. “Old Fox, I just praised you and now you’ve been slapped by your own words. It seems you aren’t the flawless schemer that I thought you were.”
Old Fox wickedly glared at him, “You old black dog, you did this intentionally, you were absolutely doing this intentionally!”
Black Astral smiled, “I have no idea what you are talking about…let’s go, old wise fox. You’ll have to figure out the aspect of the City Lord Mansion. It shouldn’t be difficult, since City Lord Blackpool certainly wouldn’t refuse any possibility that could save Great Deer City.”

After escorting him out, Old Fox paused for a few breaths of time. Then, as if having determined something, the sadness and annoyance on his face completely vanished, replaced with a smile instead.
This old black dog wanted to fool him? He was still far too young.
These past years, had he ever lost a battle of wits? After living for such a long time, he was almost never wrong!
Today’s play seemed perfect, but just like Black Astral said, it was a trump card that would inevitably succeed so there was no point in making it so needlessly complicated.
Shadowless Demon definitely wasn’t a fool, otherwise he wouldn’t have managed to live until today. Right now, the presence of Liu Huo was causing his mind to be filled with fog. Once he left Thousand Eye Temple he would surely regain his senses and be dissatisfied. This wouldn’t be good for any subsequent cooperation.
So even if it was only a small influence, Old Fox couldn’t allow it to exist. He had to guarantee that this beast tide was resolved under the most perfect condition.
This was why he had decided to play out this performance.
Now Shadowless Demon knew everything. Even if he was annoyed, at least he learned it through his own strength. Even if he was mad, he wouldn’t bear much of a grudge.
As for Shadowless Demon saying that this matter wouldn’t be finished once the beast tide was over…Old Fox faintly smiled. Hoho, did he really think he was a vegetarian or something?
If I dared to fool you in the past, I can fool you now, and even in the future…if you’re not afraid of death then bring it on. We’ll see who the last one standing is!
…
That’s right, the first one who appeared on the scene had relied on his wisdom to supposedly figure everything out. As a result, Shadowless Demon was much happier about himself.
After leaving Thousand Eye Temple, he inwardly cursed Old Fox in his heart, giving him a quick judgment – garish and frivolous!
But this wasn’t the key point. The key was that he decided to go and see this Abyss Walker who was hiding in Great Deer City with his own eyes.
Curiosity and excitement was one aspect, but another was that Black Astral and Old Fox hadn’t warned him not to. It seemed that Liu Huo had already approved of them informing others about his existence.
In other words, even if he was discovered there wouldn’t be trouble.
Outside the city, the constant rumblings of demon beasts and the howls of abyssal demons mixed together in a cacophony of sounds.
The beast tide’s assault was growing stronger and stronger. Many sections of Great Deer City’s thick walls had already been torn down, and the demons were using their own lives to forcibly prevent them from breaking in.
In this background of despair and destruction, Shadowless Demon looked up at a small courtyard not too far away, awe and veneration in his eyes.

As long as the master of this courtyard wanted, the beast tide that represented total annihilations to this city of tens of millions of demons would be immediately erased.
Shadowless Demon didn’t question this, because an Abyss Walker had an unprecedented status!
He took a step forward. Like a shadow, he ignored all barriers. Maintaining a respectful manner, he respectfully approached the edge of the courtyard.
He hesitated for a moment, clenched his teeth, and stepped inside.
At this moment he saw Qin Yu sitting next to a stone table in the courtyard with a little frown, as if he were thinking about something.
Was that His Excellency Liu Huo?
From the looks of things, he couldn’t make out anything unusual at all. The methods of an Abyss Walker were truly impressive.
At this time, Qin Yu was pulled out of his thoughts and looked up.
Was he discovered?
Shadowless Demon’s awe reached an unprecedented peak. His greatest advantage that had allowed him to travel through the abyss until now was completely useless in front of Liu Huo.
He didn’t dare to delay, in fear that he would welcome Qin Yu’s attack.
Shadowless Demon’s figure appeared and he respectfully bowed. After completing all of this and seeing that Qin Yu had no intention of saying anything, he turned around and vanished as quickly as he came.
Creak –
The door was shoved open from inside. A ruddy-faced Feature walked out. She wrinkled her nose and said, “This is the helper they found?”
Qin Yu said, “It should be. He seems to be decently fierce.”
Feature curled her lips, “Only his concealing methods are okay. His overall strength is extremely ordinary…” She suddenly stopped speaking, swallowing down the rest of her words.
Qin Yu looked at her and narrowed his eyes, “You don’t seem to be favoring them?”
Feature rolled her eyes, “Qin Yu, don’t you know that sometimes when a man is too smart, that’s also disgusting?”
Qin Yu’s face turned black. He didn’t care whether she was disgusted or not. Was three Demon Commanders working together with those super mighty invincibility pills still not enough? If that was true, wasn’t everything they were doing now a waste? And wouldn’t figuring out how to escape be a better use of time?
“Feature! Just what you are thinking, I do not know. But let me tell you something clearly today. I don’t want to die – do you understand?”
Feature humphed twice, “You truly are as timid as a rabbit. I really can’t figure out why she likes you…” She muttered beneath her breath. Seeing Qin Yu’s expression grow increasingly ugly, she coughed and said, “Well, this is just my guess, but while the will of the abyss seems to be brainless, for better or worse it still represents the supreme strength of the abyss. Although it doesn’t have the means to directly deal with us, since it has made a move, its methods shouldn’t be so easily neutralized.”
Qin Yu’s complexion grew uglier. This was because he discovered that he unexpectedly agreed with Feature’s judgment.
That’s right, this was the solemn will of the abyss, the incarnation of the entire abyss world. Since it wanted to deal with them, it would leave no room to hide.
He feared that no matter what they did, they would end up in a hopeless situation and forced to the wall.
After a moment of contemplation, Qin Yu took a deep breath and looked at Feature, slowly saying, “You should know a way to leave the abyss, right?”
Feature nodded.
Qin Yu clenched his teeth, “Let’s leave immediately!”
As long as he was alive, then there were other possibilities to figure out how to undo the Path of 10,000 Souls.
If he died, then everything would be left in despair. Ning Ling would also be doomed to not be saved.
Feature blinked her eyes, a strange look on her face. “I only said that I know of a way to leave the abyss. That doesn’t mean I can do it.”
Qin Yu: …
He really wished that he could grab this woman’s neck and let her experience what it was like to be a human pendulum!
If she knew a way but couldn’t do it, how was that different from not knowing anything at all? She knew this and was still in the mood to joke around?
“Feature!”
He roared out loud.
Feature shrank her neck and widened her eyes, “What are you shouting for? No matter how vicious you appear, there’s nothing I can do about it. If you have the ability then find a way to get out of here yourself; I won’t be stopping you.”
Black lines appeared down Qin Yu’s forehead. This hateful woman, did she really think he wouldn’t?
If Great Deer City really was breached, she would be the first one he tossed out. Then, as the demon beasts competed for her he would flee for his life.
It’s impossible for me to die. No matter what, I cannot die.
I have to live!
Qin Yu bit his lips, constantly roaring out in his heart. But he knew that since the will of the abyss had locked onto them, no matter where they fled they couldn’t escape.
Drawing back 10,000 steps, even if Great Deer City managed to defend itself or they somehow fled, there would inevitably be other disasters that came.
No matter what, all he saw was a situation where he would die.
Looking at Qin Yu’s pale face and seeing him pace around anxiously, Feature wondered if she would tell him the truth.
However, as this thought appeared she tossed it away. This smelly boy had taken considerable advantages from her and his attitude was also poor. She had to make him suffer some hardships so that he remembered her.
Hehe, that’s right, it had to be like this.
So after thinking about it, Feature coldly snorted and walked away.
