《Adaptive Morphosis : Dawn Break》Chapter 63 - [DRAFT]

The marble room was a gigantic retangle room completely encased in twenty centimeter slabs of marble, or something close to it, glassmetal, the oone who construed it and reconstrcuted it many times said that he made an alloy mixing diferents metals together with the caremic to make it stronger.
Here galssmetal was his strongest, his powers made him able to manipulate any type of ceramic material floing it like water but not lonely that it also me him expertly smart in manipulating it and gave him an enahnced mind processing things much faster, this made him specialize in creating intricate circuits, probably inspired by his time as an electri engeneer, while alterating the ceramic to flawallesy circulate electricity.
This made it possible for him to make machinery that was strong efficient and didn’t need separate areas for circuit or battery space, the only downside was that they also could only exist as long as he maintened their form.
Lately he was working in something in the marble room that he said would be revolutionary, he didn’t let anyone in and we spend the week training in the forest and in the empty lake bed.
Finally today he was going to show us what he had been woking on this entire time, something that we had discussed before though and everyone pretty much knew already, everyone was still exited to see how it had actually turned out.
We entered the marble room, the door leading to the large area with the high ceiling dotted with strong white lights iluminating the entre space.
In that large space were about thirty humanoid constructs, real looking mechas, the semed sturdy and were all in a resting kneeling stance, looking like statues
“You actually did them,” Swordjuice jumped in happiness hugging Glassmetal
“Yeah, it took a good while but I figured out how to.”
He stood there smiling looking at us all expectantly
I chuckled, “and how did you do it? I mean you need to maintain an active connection to your creation for them to function right?”
“Yeah, and I’ve been trying to circumvent that for a long time, I tried to keep some constructs on me constantly maintaining and improving their capabilities to see if they would stick in some way, that didn’t pan out though and I abandoned that to instead train in making the alterations quicker and focusing in more things at the same time”
“Oh, so that’s why I never saw you with that ball tablet anymore, huh.” Victor said
“Yeah, I trained long and hard every day and while I can’t make different things at the same time, I can make lots of the same thing.”
He gestured to the massive Mechas behind him, all identical in shape, “and that’s how this came to be, creating a case premade that is intricately exact the same makes me able to edit and control them in tamdem.”

His smile was huge while he walked in front of the group proudly explaining his achievements, “then that begs the question how can I make something really complex quicker without needing to build it form the ground up? after all if my goal is robotics, I couldn’t just program them from the ground up every time.”
He kept going not needing our input anymore to keep going.
“You see, I figured there were memory alloys, and I could try and create one myself with the explicitly purpose of keeping the atomic alterations I made solid into matter even without me keeping my attention on them.”
He gestured and a stack started rising from the ground like a hidden bookcase. “I created a specific material that kept the spaces the circuits ran through, creating my own library of effects.” He reached to the case that contained thick blocks silver colored with the patterning of marble in various speckles of blacks and maroons.
“These,” he said showing the block to us, “will make me able to create complex and intricate components that I can copy over En masse, focusing much more in the shaping and the quantity of copies instead of the intricacies of the design.”
He paused looking at us with a maniac smile waiting for our reaction.
“That’s pretty cool,” Victor said.
“I don’t really get it” Spotlight shrugged.
So the Mechas work?” LED simply asked.
“It’s genius down you get it? And yes, the Mechas work, I can use one of these that I have saved the design, which is really complex and took me days of layering thousands and thousands of hard coded frameworks, its mind boggling don’t you all get it?
“I understand Glassmetal,” I said, “I’m trying to work on something just as much intricate.”
“It really great Glassmetal,” Swordjuice said in as well in praise.
Glassmetal let out a sigh, “oh well. Let’s get down with it then,” he held the thick plaque that he took out firmly between his hands, making it light up as the subtle lines dotting its surface came alive.
A line extended from him on through the ground dividing into two and then into four and continuing like that until it connected to the thirty statues.
The lines slowly crawled up them in synchrony blending into a soft light as the individual lines grew too thin and small to be noticeable at a distance.
Slowly every one of the statues came to live revealing themselves as the mechas they were projected to be, each standing at over two meters tall, with solidly blocky arms with menacing holes under their claw like hands.
The heads were slick semi circles ontop of the large shoulders of the machines, they looked like helmets, the legs were digitigrate with rolling balls instead of feet, giving the machines a nible feel even with their heavy tops.

The thirty giants of marble made testing motions in an eerie snchronity, moving sided to side and lightl crouching as they arms spun and their claws clicked.
There was only the harmonic sound of whirll of thirty machines doing an action on the perfect same way that only machines could accomplish and Glassmetal stadning with his eyes crossed holding hs plaque looking like a technomancer.
Wow, this is much more impressive than your discurso, spotlight said his voice cleary itinted wit hawe.
Yeah, I agreed easily.
The mechas formed a csemicricle behind glassmetal in two rows of fiteen he then opnened his eyes again grinning
These are th eexpressios I wanted to see.
Very good work glassmetal led said
I want to see the smug look on your face when they re all desrtyoed glassmetal victor said a grin on his face as well.
We all nodde dto each other stainding side by side, everyone buffed and wearing military grade combat gear, it really made a sight to see I was in the front with swrodjuice and victor by my sides, behind us were led and spotlight brnigin p the rear.
Okay, led said calling for atetntion, we all know the plan then.
A chorus of afirmatives responded him and eveyone respodned getting ready, sworjuice formed her shoud and victor led out his metal though his skin, led buffed eveyone.
Glassmetal also readied himself the mechas coming around to stand in front of him as he slowly backed away, they formed in groups of five one in fornt of us and the other two encricleing us form the sides.
During the tranign something that we realized was that our team wasn’t exactly the most nynergistic one, but we hava a couple of heavy hitters that working together could take a lot of things on, spotloght serverd as an additional knife at the back , everyone with their enhanced phisicality that was fuher brough up with leds buffs each of us packed a pinch, moved nilby and quiclçy and though as a speed to match our stronger bodies.
Led gave the signal that we should go first, and we set off directly towards our enemies before they could compleetly circle us.
I ran straight at the frontmost one while all of them raised their arms, the onlyu under their calws shining up as they all bombarded us with plasma shots.
It scorched me for not even a full second and then i was fully armored up, soaking up the attack harmlessly.
Seorjucie sent blasts of force in front of her so the heat exploded away from her body and victors metal formed a wall in front of him as he built up a biggetr gun behind his shield.
Led used me as a shield staying closely behind me.
Sworjuice bomb them up, and them share the shords. Swordjuice nodded taking out two granades from each side of her belt, trowing them over at the mechas, some of them changed their aiming to intercept the bombs and sowrjuice threw little hellybeans to each of us.
I took mine and was enveloped in a thick shorud of pure knecitc energy, I was the one who had the most control over it besides sworjuice and maintaned it controlled around me, victor used the shroud as defense while he used all the metal to make a giant gun strapped to his right arm.
He had a hige grin as he started aiming and shooting, i recognised it by design, it launched first an enhanced fireball followed by a sort burts of enhanced freezing beam, altering between the tow to break though solid defenses.
Led was still behind me as I ruhsedthe closest mecha, it started going along a clearly automated defense routine as it tried to fight me in close quarters, i rained ppunches on it using the srhoud to enhance the impact as I didn’t relly need it for the defense.
The constrcts were made solid, resisting dozens of punches and keepin working even as pieces of them fell, glassmetal would also recover them pulling more marble fomr the ground to fill up the chunks that we took off.
Led had slidd off to fight his own ocntrtcus getting out of the way of the plasma bast making them shoot each other and harrasing them, his punches werent that negliglble as well with the serum training together with his buff made his strnegh decidly superhuman, although not anything completyly crazy.
The mechas punched back and tried pucnturing me with their claws, shooting blastas at close tange when they had the angle. Notihng of it affected me much and I let my tranformation keep getiting stronger, already now I stood taller having filled up with even more muscles and my armor was otimized to tak etheir shots and resist the damage from slashed and punches.
I stood undr the assault of multiple constructs while slowly and steadily pummeling them down, they werent going down either though, as glasmmetal just refilled them up and fixes up any damage we inflicted on them.
Around glassmetalthe floor biped and spotlight jumped away from a spike trap coming from where he had stepped, glassmetal smiled as he was enclosed by a dome of ceramic, the dome growing multiple guns and cameras around its surface.

8 111Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.
