《VRMMO: The Unrivaled》Chapter 1270: Snot Dragon

There were no bosses on the second floor, so we planned to leave as soon as possible. Lin Yixin was the only one who was reluctant because she was afraid that there were no Dragonheart Orchids on the third floor.
"Don’t worry, there will be some on the third floor too," I consoled.
"How would you know that?"
"I saw them with my own eyes, duh. Dark Pupils have a long range, you know."
"Really?"
"Nope. I lied!"
"Pooh!"
……
As we continued, Beiming Xue suddenly perked up her ears and said, "Big bro, look. There’s another cliff in front of us. I bet we have to jump down to reach the third floor just like before."
He Yi sounded a bit exasperated. "Are there no proper stairs in the Dragon God Cave at all? Surely it’s not going to be like this until the last floor?"
Murong Mingyue shrugged. "Every living creature here is a dragon. Why would they need stairs when they can fly?"
"Well, you got your wish, boss. I don’t think we’ll be able to jump this one…"
"What? Why?"
"Because I see a shit ton of Dragonman Blade Devils on the ground!"
"OMG…"
……
There were at least a hundred Dragonman Blade Devils at the bottom of the cliff. They were watching us and lolling their tongues almost as if they were anticipating our arrival. Everyone here knew just how powerful the Dragonman Blade Devils were, and even I couldn’t handle three of them attacking me at once. In this case, no matter how carefully I tried to aggro the mobs, at least 10 of them would be drawn to us. There was no chance our 7-man party could survive this.
With that in mind, there were two ways we could enter the third floor—
One, we could attack the Dragonman Blade Devils from above before jumping down the cliff. However, it would take at least an hour to clear out the mobs, and we probably didn’t have that much time.
Two, we could fly down the edge using my Ancient Divine Dragon and bypass the group of Dragonman Blade Devils completely, but we would have to weather at least three rounds of bombardment from the Blood Hook Dragons. There was a chance me and my passenger would die before we reached our destination...
After I explained the two plans to the girls, they ultimately decided to go with the second plan. The Blood Hook Dragons might kill us, sure, but the 100 Dragonman Blade Devils would definitely kill us.
Whoosh!
After I canceled my Fusion Armor, I leaped onto the Ancient Divine Dragon’s back and asked, "I can only carry one person at a time. Who’s going to go down first?"
Murong Mingyue said, "I need to heal you when you make the return trip, so I should be the last one to go down!"
"Makes sense."
So, I extended an arm to a smiling Lin Yixin and helped her up the back of my dragon. After she wrapped her arms around my waist, she advised, "Fly as fast as you can. If you can take us to the third floor in 3 seconds, we won’t receive more than two rounds of bombardment. Also, don’t forget to raise your shield and Guard from the beginning until the end…"

"Don’t worry, I have Battle Astral Wind…"
"That is true."
The Ancient Divine Dragon let out a cry before dashing to the front. Once it reached the edge of the cliff, I made it fly toward the third floor in an arc toward the third floor. Immediately, the Blood Hook Dragons’ bloody spikes struck my shield, and my Battle Astral Wind was shredded at first notice. There were just too many of them!
Swhoosh!
I half-crashed when I finally reached the deeper area of the third floor, bouncing off a wall and falling unceremoniously to the ground. That one trip had dropped my mount tenacity to just 87%. Thankfully, I still had over 1.7 million HP, so I could make it back without too much trouble.
After I dropped Lin Yixin, I returned to the second floor and waited for Murong Mingyue to heal me to full health. Everything went relatively smoothly, and our 7-man party was able to reach the third floor in less than ten minutes.
……
We came to a stop after venturing deeper into the third floor of the Dragon God Cave for some time. We had encountered a 5-meter long, cyan-colored worm with poisonous needles growing on its entire body. It had a dragon’s head, but it looked unusually vulgar for some reason. It was even drooling like a pervert.
"What the hell is that thing? Is that the main mob of the third floor?" Murong Mingyue asked in a disgusted tone.
I stared at it with Dark Pupils before sharing its stats in my party channel—
Snot Dragon (Fiend)
Level: 282
Attack: 31800~47500
Defense: 35000
HP: 7000000
Skills: Snot Attack, Body Wrap, Poison Pierce
Introduction: Legend says that the Snot Dragon was the scum of the dragon race. In ancient times, when the creations of the heavens first entered the world, the dragon race had sat at the top of the food chain. Unfortunately, certain less-than-honorable dragons had decided to copulate with other races and left behind some offspring that could only be described as the shame of all dragons. Legend says that the Snot Dragon is the offspring of a dragon and a slug. Its Snot Attack is incredibly powerful, and it is capable of inflicting its enemies with deadly poison. It’s a middle-rank guardian of the Dragon God Cave.
……
For a time, our group forgot to move or say anything.
"A… a dragon and a slug…?" A red-faced Lin Yixin rubbed her nose unconsciously. "The dragons that took part in it must have been pretty… hardcore…"
He Yi agreed, "This is just too much. Maybe they really were in love with each other, but seriously, this is just too much…"
Lian Xin said, "I’m more curious about how they did it."
Beiming Xue giggled. "That truth will probably remain as a mystery forever…"
Murong Mingyue, as usual, fired only the big guns. "A dragon’s dick must be pretty strong and tough, right? I’m surprised it didn’t pierce the slug’s body… or maybe it did?"
Pure Love: "..."
Finally, I raised the Chill of the Nine Provinces and chided all of them. "Where is your shame, people!? I’m a guy, and even I didn’t imagine all the incredible nonsense you girls came up with! If you have the time to daydream sex between a dragon and a slug, you might as well kill this Snot Dragon in front of you! Now come on! This thing should be easy to beat since it only has high HP! Both its Attack and Defense are pretty poor!"

After I said that, I Thunderous Charged the Snot Dragon, lowered its Defense even more with Purple Frost Concentration, and unleashed Burning Blade Slash. The devastating flame auras instantly punched three holes in its flimsy body.
"Well, whatever the case, Lu Chen is even more brutal than those dragons…" Murong Mingyue declared without hesitation.
He Yi chuckled as she Charged the Snot Dragon and unleashed her skill combos as well. The mob was weak, but its HP was insanely high. This would go faster if we attacked it together.
"Hiss hiss…"
While we were beating the crap out of the Snot Dragon, it twisted its ugly head and let out an equally awful hiss. Then, it fired a jet of snot at He Yi’s shoulder and dealt 220k+ damage to her. As expected, the Snot Dragon was way less threatening than the Dragonman Blade Devils on the first and second floor, but it made up for it with its deadly poison effects. When it used its Poison Pierce skill, everyone of us got hit by the undodgeable AoE skill and got a debuff taking 10k HP per second. Thank goodness Murong Mingyue was an incredible healer, or the poison alone could kill some of us.
After the Snot Dragon died, it dropped a magic stone that was worth only 7 RMB and a cyan-colored card. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked it up and checked out its effects. "Huh. To think that this thing would drop the first HP card to exceed the Roland Bloodknight Card. We’re using this when we fight whatever boss is waiting for us on this floor!"
Snot Dragon Card: Increases user's Attack by 20%, and HP by 120%. When attacking a target, user has a small chance to inflict poison. Duration: 120 minutes. Level Requirement: 210.
……
Lin Yixin accepted the card and said smilingly, "This is pretty good. Let’s kill some more Snot Dragons so that everyone in the party can use one when we fight the boss later!"
"Yeah!"
"Wow! There’s a ton of Dragonheart Orchids over there, Little Cheat! Let’s go!"
"Fuck!"
As disgusting as it was to tank the Blood Hook Dragons’ attacks, the Dragonheart Orchid was a key ingredient to create Rank 13 potions that would make us more OP. So, I swallowed my distaste, raised my Cyan Dragon Shield, activated my Battle Astral Wind, and played the role of an umbrella for Lin Yixin while she gathered the herbs.
A few minutes later, we received a message from the guild channel—
Li Chengfeng: "Yo! Are you inside the Dragon God Cave right now, Lu Chen, boss, Lian Xin, Beiming? Little Gui, Xu Yang, Chaos Moon, Yu Tong, Fighting Spirits, You and Yun and I have just arrived!"
He Yi: "Yeah. We’re all here. Are you on the first floor, or?"
Li Chengfeng: "We’re on the first floor. By the way, do you know that it’s complete chaos at the entrance right now? You would’ve loved this sight, hahaha!"
I asked, "What is going on out there?"
Chaos Moon answered, "Warsky Alliance, Candle Dragon, Purple Lily, Natural Flow and more are currently bashing each other’s faces in to get into the Dragon God Cave first. At least tens of thousands of Swallow Ear Canton players were killed before they even got to see what the Dragon God Cave looks like."
I chuckled. "That is incredible. They probably wouldn’t be fighting to get in if they knew just how dangerous the Dragon God Cave is, however. In fact, I would even say that those who died early are the lucky ones. The mobs here are completely beyond the normal players’ ability to combat…"
Li Chengfeng voiced his agreement. "Yeah. We fought a dozen or so Dragonman Blade Devils earlier, and the only reason we suffered no casualties was because we had Little Gui. In fact, I heard that Warsky Alliance had already lost two hundred-man parties on the third floor. One of them had 5 Dragonman Blade Devils spawning right in the middle of them, and the rest was history…"
He Yi chuckled. "What about Warsky? Is he dead yet?"
Li Chengfeng: "As far as I’m aware, no. He does have the Immortal Blade, so he can definitely act as the MT of his party. I also heard that there’s a Candle Dragon party or two somewhere on this floor. I don’t know if we’ll run into them, but if we do we’re definitely going to kick their ass!"
Me: "Speaking of which, how many of our players have entered the Dragon God Cave?"
Li Chengfeng: "There are over 500 Dragonlight Cavalrymen that I hand-picked myself, and over 2000 other players. Our party has slightly more priests than normal. I ordered everyone else to grind at other maps of Dragon Domain since I don’t know if there are enough mobs here for everyone to grind."
"Well done. We’re currently on the third floor, but you don’t need to meet up with us in a hurry. Just take it slow and steady. Also, there are a ton of Dragonman Blade Devils at the cut-off point between the second floor and the third floor. You need to fight them slowly, or you will wipe!"
"I know. You should be careful too. Candlelight Shadow, Farewell Song, Little Piglet and the rest of the top experts can’t be too far behind your party now…"
"Yeah!"
……
I closed the chat. Despite Chengfeng’s warning, I wasn’t really worried because I knew just how hard it was to make it to the third floor. For starters, the foot of the second floor’s cliff was crawling with Dragonman Blade Devils. Two, we had purposely left behind some Dragonheart Orchids so that our enemies would be baited into the Blood Hook Dragons’ range. Moreover, even if some of them possessed a flying mount, they wouldn’t be able to emulate my example. I managed to fly my party over because the Ancient Divine Dragon was an OP mount, and I had Battle Astral Wind to tank some damage. In their case, their only way to the third floor was to take out the 100+ Dragonman Blade Devils. No matter what they chose to do, there was no way they were making it to the third floor without paying the blood price.

Greg Veder vs The World
The average person can easily understand that when it comes to living in a villain-infested, crime-filled city like Brockton Bay, treating life like a game can get you killed. It's kind of ironic, then, that Greg Veder has always been far more serious about games than he ever has about life. (Worm/The Gamer AU)

Re:Mento Mori
When Ryuji, a disgruntled salaryman, is supposed to reach an unfortunate end, he is instead thrust into a new world, inhabiting a body that isn't his own. Forced into a world filled with strife and death, can he claim freedom and happiness? Or will his turbulent new life only lead to suffering and pain? As with every time-loop story written by an amateur author, this is heavily inspired by Re:Zero. If I had to explain my book, I would say imagine Re:Zero, but the main character can actually fight people instead of just getting merked every time he meets someone with a weapon. The themes of this story are dark, so be forewarned. This is my first story so keep that in mind while reading it.
