Solo Player Arvin Chapter 74

"You fought a man whose main weapon was a black ax?" Park Go Gum asked.
"Yes. And the most interesting part of that fight was that ax. It… It was magical… When that guy would raise his hand, that ax would come flying back to his hand." The old man said.
"That is interesting." Park Go Gum said.
"From what I could see, that guy was very strong. But he had very poor control over its strength. And then he was cursing and saying… muthar…kuker… I have heard that word before. This word is used by the earthlings as a curse. I have heard it personally." The old man said.
"Hmm." Park Go Gum mumbled.
"That bottle was the proof that this guy was from upper floors. Because I had never seen or smelled a potion like that before. He dropped this bottle in the alley where our battle took place. That man seemed to be an earthling. And then his magical ax… All these facts led me to believe that maybe this was the guy that the lords of the Cullen family were looking for." The old man said.
"What is your name?" Park Go Gum asked the old man.
"This old one is called Han my lord. I am a very trusted member of the Cullen family. Even the old master knows me personally. If you have any concerns about my testament then you can ask the old master of the Cullen family. I am 100% sure that he would be ready to vouch for me." Han said.
"That won't be necessary. If you lie to me, you are bound to die by hands sooner or later." Park Go Gum said with confidence.
"Yes of course my lord," Han said.
"Are you sure that guy was Lopt?" Park Go Gum asked.
"I will be honest with my lord and tell you that I am not 100% sure whether that guy was really Lopt. I am afraid I was not able to see his face as he covered it the instant he sensed me creeping up on him from behind. But from his fighting style and that ax, I believe that is the person that you are looking for." Han said.
"I have two questions for you… First, how did you know that we were looking for an ax? I don't think that I mentioned to anyone that we were looking for an ax." Park Go Gum said. As he said those words, he let his tremendous aura fall on Han to make it suffocate. As Arvin felt that aura, he started feeling heavy for some reason. It was like that suddenly the weight of his body had increased by four-fold. He understood that Park Go Gum was trying to intimidate him.

From the pressure, Arvin was able to grasp the level of strength that Park Go Gum possesses. Feeling the pressure Arvin could guess that if he devises various tricks and uses his brain to full capacity then he would have a 20% chance of defeating him. He was that strong. His pressure was like an elephant while Arvin was like a normal man.
"My Lord, I am the third elder of ghost faction of Cullen family. My colleagues were the ones that are keeping an eye on Josh… I know what my lord and his comrades are looking for…" Han sad while acting like that he was feeling suffocated.
"Hmm… For the next question, how the hell did you know me? I have made sure that no one would know my name in the Cullen family except the old master. How the hell did you know my name?" Park Go Gum asked.
"My Lord… Your friends… They both are very loud women…" Han said while acting that he would die from all this pressure….
"Hmm…" Park Go Hum mumbled then he stopped releasing his pressure. He released the pressure as he realized that he and his friends often scream their respective names while fighting. So it was not that weird that this guy knew his name. After being released from the tremendous pressure, Han took a few breathes and looked at Park Go Gum, and asked…
"My Lord, should I investigate about the wielder of that ax?" he asked.
"Wouldn't that hinder your mission?" Park Go Gum asked.
"It would. But the friendship with the Aurora tribe and serving the lords from that tribe is way more important for us than taking revenge from a noble family of 1st floor." Han said.
"Hmm… I would like to discuss it with my comrades. Then I will get back to you." Park Go Gum said.
"My Lord, I have a Corgan that I had trained from birth. That Corgan will come to the window of the westmost part where you and comrades are living right now. If you have any orders for this lowly one then please feel to give that message to that Corgan." Han said.
"Hmm" Park Go Gum mumbled and then he got up and walked out of the bar…
....
Even after Park Go Gum left, Arvin was sweating bullets. He knew that killing people from the Aurora Clan would not be a piece of cake. But he underestimated them way too much. Park Go Gum alone can overpower him, then what about when they are combined? And the worst of all, what about Alman?

When Arvin cracked the safe Alman's he found various potions in the safe. Loki said that right now, these potions are a resource that he could not use. So he should just store them for now. But when he would reach the second floor, the potions will start to come in handy.
Meeting Park Go Gum today had two purposes. First of all, was to introduce himself and the second of all was to gauge the power of his opponent. Now as Arvin had done all of those things, now he could finally make a strategy against Park Go Gum. After all, he would be the first one to die among all of his targets.
Arvin knew that he could not fight all of those monsters all by himself. So the most logical thing was to get them one by one. Arvin was adamant about his original strategy. He would let Alman and those three fight among themselves. Then he would take care of what was left. But when Arvin started thinking logically he felt that if he considers the fact these three and Alman have the same amount of strength then those three could easily overpower Alman.
So too even the odds he would kill one of them. He chose Park Go Gum for this as he was the leader of the trio. And with the leader out of the equation, the team would be in shambles. Arvin asked for a detailed report on the behavior of the trio because he wanted to know who among them was the leader and the fact that if he/she goes away what would happen to the team.
Based on the report that he got, he understood one thing that if Park Go Gum gets out of the equation then the trio will bear a very heavy loss. He was the one the made sure that everything works smoothly in their team. Arvin knew from the report that Park Shin Hye and Alice Mark didn't get along well. The detailed analysis of Cassandra told Arvin said that before being a team, they all were friends.
With this info, Arvin inferred that if he is able to kill Park Go Gum somehow, then it would disturb the mental state of both the girls. At that time they would be more vulnerable. That would the right time to strike them hard. At that time Arvin calculated and it became apparent to him that he would have a more 60% chance that he would catch them off guard and kill them.
But killing the girls was way ahead in the future. Before even touching the hairs of those girls, Arvin had to take care of Park Go Gum. Arvin was at first thinking that he would have to make a very detailed and effective ambush with Alman to kill the leader from the trio. But that all changed when Arvin started using the rotten egg.
That egg was basically a poisonous egg. And when Arvin would inhale the air around the egg, he was essentially inhaling poison. Arvin had long ago completed the rune formation for the metallic vase. That rune formation worked in such a way that, after Arvin had inserted the egg in the vase, it would lock the air inside the vase and will not let it escape. No matter what you do outside.
The only way that one would be able to inhale the air from inside when someone would pass mana from the circuit in the rune formation. After the mana has passed, the formation would let air from inside the vase escape. And then the formation will close the vase-like before after 5 seconds have passed after opening the vase.
Essentially when someone would inhale the poison, it would affect the body of the inhaler. The inhaler might die from the poison. But according to Loki, Arvin was different. He had an innate ability to absorb the poison. Of course, it would take time for its body to get adapted to the poison. So he from time to time he had to inhale the poison and let its body fight with the poison. It was a very stupid idea to gain poison immunity. But it would be very helpful in the future.
The way that Arvin faints even after being an acolyte, made him believe that there are not many people that could withstand this poison. Even the trio and Alman would have a tough time dealing with it. So why not use this egg against them?

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
