Solo Player Arvin Chapter 54

Arvin then started following the middle-aged butler. The butler seemed very angry for some reason. While following him Arvin could hear the butler's mumbling about how the servants of this house need to be properly educated. And how the servants of this estate are so incompetent. He would request his master to give him the power so that he could properly educate them. But the butler's mumbling didn't faze Arvin at all.
While the mumbling of the butler didn't stop, Arvin focused on estate and the routes that the butler was taking him from. He had only seen the estate from the sky so he didn't have any idea about the routes of the estate. He kept looking here and there as it would come in handy if he ever wants to escape this place with Josh.
After taking many twists and turn, Arvin and the butler finally arrived at the large wooden doors. On the wooden doors, there was a delicate carving of the jungle. And there in the jungle, a fierce bird was glaring back at you. Arvin was very impressed by the delicate carving on the doors. As he was admiring the door, butler knocked on the door once.
"Come on in." came an old voice from the inside.
The butler opened the wooden gate and walked inside. In there, an old man was sitting on a wooden table going through some paperwork. Behind the old man's table, there was a big shelf. On that shelves, various books weapons, and strange decorative items were kept. By the right side of the room, there was a sofa set with a tea table in the middle. While on the left side there was what seems to be a bar. And one could see very expensive alcohol on the bar.
All the hair on the old man's face was white. And from his looks to it could be discerned that he was very old. But from his sitting poster and bulky arms, it could be discerned that he must have been a very strong individual in the past.
"Close the gate behind, Greg." That old man said.
"Yes, master." The butler said and went behind and closed the gate of the study room.
"Have a seat Han, I will join you in just a minute." The old man said without looking up and still going through some paperwork.

Arvin then started thinking about where he should sit as he didn't know whether he was allowed to sit on the sofa or not. As he was thinking he stood there, in the meantime Greg the butler appeared before Arvin…
"Master Han. Would you like to have the usual?" Greg asked Arvin with the utmost respect. The rude and the condescending tone that Greg was speaking with earlier vanished in the thin air. Arvin was very surprised when he heard Greg's tone.
{Hmm… It seems like that this Han fellow must have been a very important member of the Cullen family.} Loki commented in Arvin's head.
[He must have been the hidden expert of the family. That is why that old man is showing him so much respect.} Hela also commented.
"Master Han?" Greg asked again with the utmost respect.
"The usual would be just fine." Arvin then said playing along.
Then Greg went towards the left towards the bar and started making something up. Till then Arvin went to the right and sat on the sofa. As he sat on it on the sofa he started relaxing. Till then Greg had gone and came back with a glass of wine. It was cherry red wine with a very fragrant smell. Arvin had never drunk alcohol before in his life. This his first time tasting something like this.
The wine had water-like consistency. It was a litter bit sour but still, the taste was very magical. Arvin just sipped the wine and he loved it very much…
"Well, then shall we get on with the business?" the old man said as he came from his wooden desk and sat on the sofa in front of Arvin.
"Sure," Arvin replied.
"Han you are a very old friend of mine. And I know that you respect the old traditions of the Ghost faction. But I need your help this time." The old man said seriously.
"Hmm," Arvin murmured as he was unsure of what he was supposed to say.
"I know that I swore in the past never to force you to do any job for me, but I am a little bit desperate here."
"Hmm."
"You know how a war with the Cross family has nearly depleted our stocks and money. Even though the war had stopped Cross family has never stopped pursuing us for a single moment. And now they are trying to entice other families to group against us Cullens.

Han my dear friend, the head of the Cross family had to die. That is why I want you to go kill that son of b*tch with a mana stone bomb that I will prepare with Alice. She is from the upper floors so she will have no problem making a bomb. So all you have to do is find a guy that could wield the bomb and the chapter of Cross family will get close from the history of the Cullen family."
"…"
"What do you say?"
"May I be frank for a moment?" Arvin said seriously.
"Yes. Of course." The old man replied.
"For some time let us pretend that you are not the master."
"Ok."
"Now…. ARE YOU F*KING STUPID?" Arvin said while sipping some wine.
"Huh?" the old man gasped as he had never heard Han talk in this type of language.
"That is your master plan? Kill the head of the Cross family with a bomb. With a fu*king bomb?"
"You don't like the idea."
"Of course. It is full of holes… Let me make some things clear. Cullen family will not be able to survive for more than 50 years if you do this."
"How?"
"Let us say, your plan succeeded. You will be able to instill fear in the minds of other noble families. But what if this plan gets out and the whole 1st floor hears about it? Then the whole Cullen family's reputation would suffer from this. Cullen family's main business is with people. And Cullen family has established a firm reputation in commoners. But you do this you will sabotage it."
"So what should we do?"
"You already have the solution. You just need to take a look at it closely."
"What?"
"Those people from upper floors. Those are your key for revenge."
"But they already declined my request. How will I convince them to take my revenge."
"You don't need to request them anything. You just need to stir them in your direction."
"Huh?"
"Leave it to me. I have a friend who will be more than happy to do this work." Arvin said. Of course, he will not do anything of sorts for this old man. As soon as he finds the location of Josh's he will run away from here with him. So he made a fake promise to the old man.
"Why did you suddenly changed your mind? You said earlier that you will not do this."
"Technically I will do nothing. That other person that I told you about will do. So technically I am still not breaking my oath." Arvin said while finishing the last of the wine in his glass.
"Are you sure about this?"
"Relax. That other person will do all the work. So even if goes sideways they will have no way to track it back to you. So you should relax.
"Fine."
"Did you find anything about the ax?" Arvin asked thinking that he may find some clue about Josh's whereabouts.
"No nothing. We are constantly keeping our eyes on that old man Josh and his family's house in the inner city. But still no sign. And our sources gave no reports of any sighting of that Lopt. And those people from the upper floors also didn't find any sort of clue. So the trail has gone cold."
"Hmm… Will there be anything else?" Arvin asked hurriedly as he got the clue about Josh.
"No nothing else. And Han, take care of this Cross family matter today."
"Today?"
"Yes. I want you to deal with it as soon as possible. Take a holiday for today. Complete this work and then come back."
"Yes, Master," Arvin said and then got up and walked out of the study room.
As Arvin walked out of the study room, the old man looked towards Greg and asked him whether he also find that Han's behavior was a little bit shady…
"Greg... Han seemed a little bit different today right?"
"Yes, master. Master Han didn't act like he usually does."
"Hmm… What do you think that is all about?"
"I don't know master."
"Hmm… What do you think? Will he able to pull off what he promised?"
"I don't know. I have known all the deeds of Master Han. But I know about his strengths and weaknesses. But I don't have any idea about their scheming prowess…"
"Me neither…" the old man said

Into the Feywild
I've never considered myself to be much of a fighter. In fact, I had no notion what it was all about. I couldn't envision a war amongst people, especially my own. In this odd realm, a timid half-elf has little chance of success. Especially with minimal experience. I've only fought as a means of survival, self-defense, if you will. I had known only humans, so the concept of elven culture and family was foreign to me. And yet, here I am, in the midst of a tremendous battle between two Feys and a God. I never planned for things to turn out this way, or for me to get caught in the great shambles of war—a conflict between good and evil. My two companions are practically strangers to me, knowing nothing but my name. This journey was not something I had planned or wished for, but it was what the Gods gave me.◈ ◈ ◈Meli, a young half-elf traveling the Material Plane, is unexpectedly captured while on her travels, only to become a member of an odd group of individuals. Crane, an older wizard castaway from his college for practicing unnatural magic, and Kurky, a youthful and lively gnome who is as fascinating as they come. Meli's curiosity gets the better of her as she chooses to accompany them on their not so concrete journey into the Feywild. Little did they know of the constant war raging within this woodsy plane. Maybe Meli will discover everything she's been looking for, embracing love and pleasure along the way. Or perhaps she'll become a part of something bigger. © Copyright to EmmeMeadows 2021
