Several massive golems stepped out of the portals first
Bring forth a fire that burned so hot that it seemed cursed
The grassy hill was razed and all the rocks began to melt
But more monsters soon joined the raging fire that Sting now felt

This creature never goes alone, it travels in a swarm
When they approach, even in dead of winter, you’ll feel warm
They live in magma fields and travel far to hunt their prey
Consuming hordes of monsters and burning the bones away
Suddenly Sting was surrounded by a swarm of foes
And for a moment cursed the peaceful hilltop tree he chose
It looked like such a nice place to relax when he first came
But soon it would be eaten up by monsters and their flame
He couldn’t make opening no matter where he flew
As the flames expanded the number of foes did too
Chasing after him were Fire Bats like a cloud of smoke
The wall of flames closed in on Sting as he began to choke
He couldn’t hope to penetrate the golems of magma
And trying to go through the flames was a bad idea
The ground itself was turning into great sea of fire

And soon his resistance to heat was going to expire
Achievement: Sting!
I’ll give you all the stats I can but I don’t have a plan!
Keep running and stay alive for as long as you can
Maybe some of the fires will burn out before too long
But I have never seen so many fire golems so strong
Sting could fly much faster with the blessings he received
But there was still nowhere to run or plans to be conceived
He dodged the Fire Bats left and right with great skill and finesse
But now the heat was truly causing the bee great distress

His body felt so strange as his new status took effect
He wondered how he’d become something a god would protect
But as his new class levelled up much faster than it should
Although he was fatigued, he started feeling pretty good
He zipped around too fast for the Fire Bats to track his flight
But in the heat he still had no room to resist or fight
The wall of fire and massive golems closed in all around
The flames burning intensely with an overwhelming sound
The portals themselves were the only things still not burning
The sky was set ablaze while magma below was churning
In the end he thought of only one way to get out
And laid his eyes upon a portal which filled him with doubt

All he wanted was to live a peaceful life and eat
Even now he tasted the bread he’d found on that street
And as he flew through that big portal to escape the fire
He shed a tear and vowed one day he’d fulfil that desire
He dodged another swarm of monsters as they exited
A monster going the wrong way was quite unexpected
Some burned up when they came out and found the hill ablaze
But the lava-loving monsters came rushing out in a craze
The last thing that he saw of the world as he passed on through
Was a wyvern feasting on a fiery bat or two
The cool and weird sensation of the portal brought relief
His wings had become dryer than a fallen autumn leaf
Achievement: Be Careful!
Why didn’t I think of that, the exit was right there!
But those unstable portals could lead you anywhere
I’ve never observed that realm, only the dark gods do
But I’ll do my best to keep a careful eye on you
Sting wondered if he’d wind up in the place that he was from
It was far from a nice place, but safer still than some
He may have missed his birthplace more than he had realized
But when he crossed through, what he saw left him more than surprised

Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex.
