Towards the end of the day,Neil asked his secretary to arrange a meeting with Lawyer Chen and his clients.They were to be invited to the Lance Inc building for negotiations..Just then,Neil received a call from his secretary that the lawyer wiished to speak to him before committing to him.Neil heard the request and sighed.He had already sent Onita and little Alicia home so for now he had no scruples in threatening the other party to comply with their wishes.Agreeing to the requst,Neil asked the secretary to connect the call.

The secretary had transferred the call and a beep could be heard in the phone and finally it was connected.In his silky voice,Neil said,"Lawyer Chen,good evening.I hear you would like to talk to me first before you agree to any meetings."

Though,everything Neil said was polite and generic,Lawyer Chen felt a shiver run down his spine.In actuality,though Lawyer Chen was considered the number one lawyer,he had won most of his cases by manipulating evidence.But with Neil Long's reputation and power,he could not even think of any tricks and only worried about sustaining his real evidence in court.That man was known to eat evidence in court and turn it into c***.When he received Neil Long's secretary's call for an out of court settlement,he was beyond elated.Wanting to settle out of court meant that Neil Long most certainly did not possess enough evidence to stand in court.And so Lawyer Chen decided to throw his weight around and insisted that he speak to Neil Long.But with just the greeting alone,he was regretting his decision.

Neil looked at the receiver which had gone silent in his hand and frowned.He did not have all day to chat with the lawyer.Just as he was going to open his mouth to reprimand ,the other person answered,"Good evening Mr Long.I understand that you have requested an out of court meeting.I will have to consult my clients regarding this.I am not very sure that they will agree since they are not willing to let the baby's dirt poor mother have her and let her suffer all her life.We also do not want her to negatively influence the baby once the baby is in the Hu family's care or try to grasp a place for herself by claiming any attachment ot the baby.So I do not understand the reason for this out of court settlement request.My clients are very clear intheir objective.If they had wanted anything else,they would have approached Ms Dew directly instead of going to court."

Neil rolled his eyes at Lawyer Chen's pompous tone and felt like sending a punch to him via the phone itself.Just what kind of lawyers were the law schools doling out?If only half of them were more smart and less obnoxious,the world would have peace!But in a casual tone Neil answered,"The out of court settlement is the final chance for your clients to have access to the child,Lawyer Chen.That is why it is important.If the trial continues in court then I can assure you that forget custody,they will not be able to see the shadow of the child.My secretary will be messaging you a time and place.Tell them to be there.They can choose to not come as well.I am not interested in haggling.Goodbye."

By the time Lawyer Chen realized that Neil Long had hung up,a few minutes had passed and he had mostly sweated a few buckets.He immediately called back but the number was said to be busy.Just then his cell phone dinged with the sound of an incoming e-mail.It was an 'official' mail from Neil Long's secretary inviting them to try an out of court settlement meeting tomorrow at The Hotel Royal Plaza.As lawyer Chen read through the mail,the only sound he could let out was a mumbled,"Ha!"Inviting?more like threatening."

Lawyer Chen regained his senses quickly after this.It was possible that Neil Long knew something that they did not and that is why he was so sure to win.He needed to set up a meeting with the Hu's today to discuss about this threat for tomorrow.Frustratedly,he called his own secretary and instructed her to call the Hu's over if they were still interested in the child!Just where had his planets been focused when he had accepted this case.It was supposed to have been a straightforward one.Getting him a good pay and reputation without much hard work.Who would have thought that the simple poor journalist would suddenly have the backing of Neil Long.Well she must have something under her belt!Otherwise why would a busy man like Neil Long be willing to fight the case personally instead of handing it over to his minion.The busy man was currently sitting in his office eating his favorite cake and staring at his laptop not even thinking about the people he had just sent into panic mode.Sadly,this busy man was not busy enough these days!He was bored because people usually tried to run away rather than mess with him!So the hunter inside him was going out of his mind.To distract himself,Neil Long was doing something he had never done in the past and if anyone was to see his screen just now,they would surely faint.The man was grinningly ordering a set of pink legos for a certain cupcake!
