Assistant Yang reached the offices of Lance Inc. and getting down opened the door for hi boss.All the employees were used to seeing the boss being followed by Assistant Yang but today he was being followed by not one but 2 assistants.Walking behind the boss,in his usual place, on the right was Assistant Yang and on the left was Assistant Lu.All thoughts were now focused on Assistant Yang.Why did the boss bring in a new Assistant?Even if Assistant Yang was jut that- an assitant,he had an entire department of under secretaries.But Alicia Lu had not been made a secretary.She was training to be the Personal Assistant of Ryu Long.And today as she followed the men into the CEO's private elevators proved it.Did that mean Assistant Yang was resigning?Was that why Assistant Lu was receiving training directly under Assistant Yang and the Boss?

Assistant Yang was not liked by many people.Though he was a fair man,he was not afraid of stepping on toes to get what he wanted.It was known throughout that nobody escaped Assistant Yang's eagle eyes and he was the one who filtered all news that reached their boss.So much power in the hands of a mere Assistant ,scared some people and made them resent the powerful person.The staff in human resources office was again being harassed for information,if any..." ​​

On the top floor:

Once outside the elevators,Assistant Yang pointed to a table in the far corner,"Assistant Lu,that is your work desk.Please make yourself comfortable and continue the work."

Alicia gave a polite nod to both the men and proceeded towards the secluded table.

Assistant Yang followed Ryu to his office to receive any further instructions.

Ryu's office was circular in shape.To the back of his table were glass windows that extended from floor to ceiling.The marble top table which held a laptop on the right and a few files on the left.The other 3 walls were generic and colored in chrome and black. Ryu sat on his chair and gestured to Assistant Yang to sit on the opposing chair.

Unused to sitting in his boss' office,Assistant Yang felt at a loss.He thought back to the rumors that were circulating in the office regarding him.He was sure that he had not committed any mistakes so why did the boss want him to sit?

Ryu opened his laptop and started working on his files without looking at Assistant Yang who was still standing,stumped. "Assistant Yang,we haven't got the whole day.Sit and read the mail I have sent to you and see if you have any objections or suggestions regarding it."That said Ryu returned to his work.

Assistant Yang did not want to read the mail.He sat down all the while holding his tablet.What was in the mail?Was it his termination letter?Or was he being transferred to some obscure place?His wife would kill him if they had to move anywhere...then what?Was he being demoted?No that would be unfair.And his boss was never unfair...With shaking hands,Assistant Yang opened the e mail and read through it.But halfway through the mail,Assistant Yang's eyes were glittering with a sheen of tears and by the end of it,he did not know whether to laugh or cry.

He looked at his boss who was working as if he had not just dropped a bomb on his poor Assistant and muttered to himself,"I think it is time ti give up this post now."
