Unlucky?Player Chapter 136

There were two people other than Nate who would recognize Night's appearance, the feeling of fear, it was a cold tingling sensation at the bottom of their spine. Ajax and Ken, they witnessed Night take on the appearance of a shadow demon of some kind. Of course, whatever they saw was nothing but an illusion that their fear projected.
However, it was horribly scary to see something you fear, come to life. What were the chances that Night would actually take that form? of course, they were very low. If Nate hadn't pushed him so much then he probably would not have been required to go that far.
"You ready bro?" Night screamed from behind the black screen. He had no idea how he looked obviously but he was sure that the impromptu armor would help. After all, he covered himself in more than 3 layers of darkness. He literally looked like the monarch of Shadows. He had long, slender but strong claws that could maul an entire beast in a single strike, his purple eyes paired with the shadows he was covered in made him seem like some kind of a demon lord. However, instead of a mouth, a crack could be seen, it was like an abyss that swallowed everything that was in its path. The armor wasn't anything too heavy or thick, it was suitable for something an assassin would wear.
"For what??" Nate questioned as he stopped firing his elemental orbs. He was in no danger, as far as he knew, there was nothing Night could do to gain the advantage.
"I'll take that as a yes!" Night said as he passed through the dark screen and dashed towards Nate. He took long and calculated strides. It looked like a demon from the Underworld was let loose. However, what Nate saw was completely different. He froze up, even the orbs around him were slowly lowering themself. He knew Night better than anyone else, at least he'd like to think so.
It was similar to the abomination he saw when they were in the dojo and Luke was facing off against K and Jace. It wasn't like he was afraid of it, of course, he was wary but that wasn't the reason Nate froze up. He was worried that something pushed his friend so far that he was lost. It was a stupid thought in reality but he couldn't help but think about it, the thought of Luke losing control seemed very realistic.

"W-what..."
"Look alive bozo," Night said as he kicked Nate in the gut, sending him flying back.
'What the fck???? that son of a bitvh! he just covered himself using Umbrakinesis..' Nate grumbled internally as he pushed himself up.
*Whamm*
This was his time to attack, Night went for it, the orbs wouldn't be as annoying, thanks to his new armor. One combo after the other, he didn't waste any time, he couldn't. Nate's hp was slowly but visibly dropping. Luke's armor somewhat made his attacks slightly weaker and a little slower, perhaps it was because of his inexperience in using it.
'What the fck are these punches? I feel like puking my intestines out..is this what it feels like? to be on the other end??' Nate wasn't given a single second to think, it was either him trying to dodge by using the wind or it was him getting mauled by the vicious beast-looking Night in front of him.
Just as Nate realized dodging those punches would only get harder, Night made the obvious move and switched to his double-edged sword, Glacial balance. It was now going to be harder and riskier for Nate, every wasted move was an opportunity for his opponent to win. Every step back is a step forward for Night.
It was a complete change of events, the tables were turned, Night now had the advantage. It was better and clearer than he expected, according to his thoughts, the biggest danger would be those elemental orbs but it looked like controlling them was harder than expected, instead, Nate used them for defense. Whenever he knew he couldn't dodge an attack, he would move an orb in the direction of the attack, it wouldn't do much but it would definitely slow Night down.
"Woah...what's with his fight style? It's all weird...I'm no expert but the way he's using his double-edged sword is different. But why?"
"Hey, genius. Can't you see that Night is under pressure as well? there's always the constant threat of those orbs, it's not something that can just be put aside because of some weird armor. I think the real question is...what is his power? who is he?"
"That's true...what is it that allows him to control shadows? it seemed as if those black clouds came out from his body, they were never-ending, and he's completely covered in it right now...."

"It's scary. I don't even want to know. He's scary, the name "The Anomaly" suits him, I don't even want to begin to understand him..."
The audience was somewhat used to the surprises, which is why their reaction wasn't anything wild. They've been surprised far too much this entire event, especially by Nate and Luke, and now the two highlights of the entire day were facing off in a PvP. There was nothing that could surprise them, besides they couldn't afford to be surprised. They didn't want to miss anything that happens.
"I told you didn't I? he was just growing.." K said with a smug look on his face.
"Yeah whatever, it's annoying seeing how much you trust the kid." Jace scoffed while flipping off his friend.
"Wow, real mature there." K chuckled when he saw his friend's gesture, "besides, of course, I trust him. I've seen what he's capable of, and it's scary. I'm actually surprised the military or some other force hasn't already snatched him away. He would no doubt be a dangerous asset."
It was true. Luke was someone if trained properly could take out entire squads. Of course, even normally that would be possible but the training that soldiers undergo to equip and properly use firearms should not be underestimated. However, in a world where firearms didn't exist, Luke would be capable of destroying an entire nation alone.
If Nate were to hear what the old men were talking about, he would most definitely agree. He was facing off against that nation-destroying being. However, that would be an overstatement, he was getting thrashed around, he could barely even stand at this point.
'Any second now...' Nate thought as he looked at Night attacking with Glacial Balance. However this time there was something different. The darkness that surrounded the weapon seemed to have gotten "darker", signifying the end of the five minutes. Meaning Night was finally allowed to use his skills again.
"Hah! Gotcha!" Night screamed as he channeled his pure darkness to encase his Glacial Balance. A slight sizzling sound was heard and steam could be seen coming off the blade. It looked more vicious than it normally did. However, just when he finished channeling the pure darkness, Night disappeared from Nate's view.
"Huh? looks like his skills are back, I really don't understand these two. What are skills and what aren't, it's frustrating. However, that doesn't explain why he had to appear behind Nate, that next strike of his looked different so I'm assuming he used some kind of skill-"
"Oh never mind, the blade went straight into Nate's shoulder...." Aurora further added.
"I think he wanted to surprise him, I'm pretty sure Night wouldn't make any silly mistake like that. Perhaps there's something we can't see that he can?" Layla questioned.
"That wouldn't have connected. We noticed that his skills were back, don't you think Nate would've known before? he obviously knew for a fact. So that means he predicted Night's move but he couldn't predict Night appearing behind him. At least not entirely."
"You got me...." Nate coughed as a stream of blood could be seen dripping from his mouth. The punches paired with the final stab that went directly through his shoulder dealt enough damage to cause blood to flow from the mouth. However, that wasn't the end. Layla was right, there was something that nobody could predict or see. Nate knew for a fact that Night's skills were back, why wouldn't he? he was the one that locked them off. He had a strong hunch that Night would use Hermes Exploration and appear behind him.
"Guess we're even?" Night laughed as he dug the double-edged sword a little deeper. Was Night aware of what was about to happen? he had no clue at all. He was completely oblivious to Nate's plan.
"Hmm? you're laughing? not bad," Night chuckled. He found it amusing, the fact that his friend could laugh even in such a situation was interesting. Night didn't realize what was happening until he tried to pull his Glacial Balance out. Nate held the weapon with his other hand and didn't let go, he even went as far as using wind magic to help him keep the Glacial Balance where it was.
"Disciple of the Goddess of Magic-"
"What??"
