Unlucky?Player Chapter 110

"And that brings the end of another event! Ladies and Gentlemen, Kira Yoshikage, the winner of Maze Trampling!" Dr. Reed announced.
"Hey, why didn't he announce my name!" Nate frowned, "that's not cool!"
"Doofus he doesn't know who you are, unlike Kira or other players who announced their in-game identity, we haven't yet done so, " Luke commented as he looked at Kira walking back to the VIP section.
"Oh right, anyway, you're up next," Nate said with a thumbs up.
"Now onto the next event! That is Monster Hunting! I have to tell you, this event is a little unique, it was specially designed and made by our beloved Chairman Kenny Smith, the event is simple. Kill and slaughter. Killing monsters gains you points, each monster is worth 1 point, here's the best part, if you kill someone you get half their points and by the end of 60 minutes the player with the most points or the last player remaining is deemed the winner," Dr. Reed said,
"Without wasting any more time, Monster Hunting, everybody!"
"Haah, I'm up," Luke said as he got up.
"Good luck!" Nate joked.
"Ha ha, very funny," Luke showed a specific finger to his friend.
Once again, the eyes of the crowd were drawn to Luke, he wore a baggy hoodie to a formal event, he looked like a low-life druggie with the mask and his messy blue hair. Did Luke care? definitely not but did Luke know that people were looking at him? no. He's lived with horrible luck all his life, even though it's not very noticeable, it is true, his luck affects the smallest of things but all this time the only reason he's been able to hold off was thanks to his own strength(s) or at least he thought so. Naturally, because of such a situation, Luke was the center of attention quite a lot, slowly as a defense mechanism he learned to not notice the condescending gaze of others, however as a price he was also robbed of the ability to notice an appreciating gaze.

'Can't wait for PvP, what was his name? Jetski? or something, my stats may be stupidly low but watch me win the match between us blindfolded,' usually, such comments wouldn't affect Luke but for some reason, JetSky irked him, something about him annoyed Luke, 'wait maybe he's taking part in this as well? I didn't see him in any of the other ones....perhaps..'
Luke walked casually until he finally reached the capsule and entered it, it was awfully comfortable, of course, compared to a mere headset anything would be better. As soon as he logged in, he was met with an unfamiliar view, instead of finding himself somewhere in between the Norse Kingdom and Aeternum, all Night could see was weird volcanic rocks. They were of different colors, black, brown, some were a mixture of black and red, some were grey, naturally, it could be deduced that it was a volcanic region but this was what Kenny planned, he confused them by mixing the characteristics and properties of multiple regions.
Night looked around to see trees of different types, awkwardly placed. Some had mangoes, some housed tiny birds, some belonged to a species that didn't exist. He could feel the dry breeze blowing, the entire location was a mystery, something that isn't possible. Just as he tried to move, Night realized something that put a smile on his face. It was snow, Night was standing on snow, he was sure that if he were to move around he probably would find some other mixture but as of now, his current location was the most ideal.
Unlike Nate, who wasn't fully comfortable with his powers, Night had a natural talent for adapting and letting his strength flow. However, unlike his real-life self, Night couldn't sense or even look at the flow of energy in objects, not yet at least. However, he was more than comfortable with using his arsenal of skills, he was yet to try out his Niflheim skill tree but Night planned on saving it, he would probably not show it to the public unless and until he had no other choice, perhaps in the clan battle.

Goblins were the first species he found though he knew they were definitely not the last, if Night were to guess, he would probably find, kobolds, scorpions, harpies, skeletons, etc. Luke didn't waste any time, they were a large number of players taking part, it was more than 3 times Accuracy Spike, there were a total of 100 players, KYOJIN literally had to bring in more capsules, thankfully the stadium was big enough to fit all the capsules.
The large number of players would work to his advantage, the audience may not notice if accidentally used his powers. However, unbeknownst to Night, a group of 5 individuals all stared right at the screen that projected his gameplay.
"It's him...." Valerian said, "I know for a fact that it's him,"
"Is he planning on revealing his identity to the world?" Noxx asked.
"I'm not sure but doesn't Genesis capture a player's real-life appearance as well?" Leo, Noxx's brother replied, "why didn't we see him then?"
"Well this should definitely be entertaining," Layla mused.
"..." Aurora was the only one who stayed quiet, instead she took out her phone and sent her grandfather a text since there wasn't only one VIP section, physically finding Jace would take forever, instead she texted him the screen that projected Night and had asked him to look at his movements.
.
.
.
In another VIP section,
"Hmm? my granddaughter says this "Night" is the one on that screen," Jace said while pointing at the huge projection in front of them.
"Him? indeed, his movements seem extraordinary but they aren't anything out of this world but I can't shake this feeling when I look at him," K replied.
"What feeling?"
"This familiar feeling, that Night reminds me of someone, I'm not sure who,"
"Perhaps the age is slowly getting to you as well my friend," Jace chuckled.
"Hmmm....perhaps.."

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
