Unlucky?Player Chapter 74

"It definitely isn't normal..." Night said as he looked at Shade and Noctis.
To be surrounded by beings at all times, especially beings like Shade and Noctis, one was a Guardian, an entity that was seen as a boss by other players, and he wasn't just any Guardian at that, Shade was the Guardian of the Forest of Silence, while he was in an environment that provided him shade, he could create enough 'shadows' to help him fight against 100's of players. Even individually, Shade was someone who could play around with most rankers. While the other was a creature of unknown origin, as cute as Noctis was, he was from a place that even the Divine feared, he was a creature of Chaos, the same void that birthed the Primordials.
'It isn't in my best interest to be walking around with Noctis, people may think I'm flaunting, besides there's probably no other player with a pet...perhaps if I had a magic ball to summon him, I could just throw it and be like, Noctis I choose you!'
Night once again brought out his inner weeb but unfortunately, a space that could contain Noctis couldn't be created, even if Noctis was once contained in an egg, that egg was long gone and even if Night somehow managed to find it or something with similar properties, there was no guarantee that he could make something that complicated, especially with his luck actively looking to screw him over.
"Anyway, since I managed to cross off one of the conditions, I guess I can take advantage of the fact that I'm in the Norse Kingdom and maybe gather more information? or maybe I should focus on understanding my skills better, even after all these levels, I don't have a skill that could directly damage my opponents," Night muttered to himself.

Up until now, other than Swissman's thrust and Rapid shot which barely passed as skills, Night never had any direct damaging skills, he had been adapting and using his aura to deal the damage, of course, a Grandmaster's biggest weapon was their weapon aura but that didn't mean that they didn't require any other skills. Especially since learning weapon aura in a few months was a dream for many.
Looking to hit two birds with one stone, Night decided to head towards a training arena that the public could use, Norse warriors, focused more on fighting than talking, and most of the time, they earned the respect of each other through fights, so going to the training arena would help him gather more information about them as well as let him test out his skills and possibly allow him to understand them better.
Even though it was a public ground, the area was big, with multiple training dummies and archery targets, the ground was quite lively, people gathered to watch the warrior's practice and show off, it was a form of entertainment for the civilians. Naturally, they caught the attention of many, except this time, it wasn't only the looks of Night and Shade or the mysterious but sinister aura around Noctis, it also had to do with the fact that they were physically smaller, both Shade and Night were quite tall but compared to how buff the people of the Norse Kingdom were, the two of them looked like children even compared to the normal civilians.
"Tch, they're underestimating us..." Night clicked his tongue when he noticed the condescending gaze of the Norse warriors, however, they didn't look for too long and soon shifted their gaze back to those practicing.
"Perhaps, it's a good time to test out the weapon My Lord gifted me.." Shade said as a vein could be seen popping out, he hated people talking down or even looking down on His Lord. Originally, Shade followed Night only due to his connection with Nyx but as he traveled with Night and learned more about him, he couldn't help but feel proud, their bond deepened so much that even if for some reason Night had nothing to do with Nyx anymore, Shade would still follow Night.

"Well, that's a good idea, the Norse may be muscle-heads but it looks like they aren't exactly bad, besides it shouldn't be an issue, even if someone were to covet the weapon, once they realized its cursed, I doubt they'll still want it," Night replied while he analyzed the crowd.
Without hesitating any further, Shade brought out his Trident, a six feet tall weapon stood beside him, it freely levitated next to him, apparently, the 'freely equipping' meant the weapon can be used however the user willed it, of course, there were limitations even for this. Winter's abomination radiated 'pure darkness' which naturally, alerted everyone there, even if they couldn't understand what the weapon was, they could feel the pressure it emitted.
The more Night looked at the weapon, the more he was reminded of the skill Nyx used to save him when he was fighting the reanimated boar.
'Ahh, that takes me back...anyway this should be interesting' he said internally before focusing on Shade who now stood in front of a training dummy with his Trident floating next to him. Night was curious to see how 'darkness' worked, it had confusing properties and this was the perfect opportunity to witness 'pure darkness', perhaps he may be able to learn something, maybe the difference between darkness and pure darkness or maybe the different kinds of darkness?
"Shade..don't overdo it, you might hurt someone so be careful," Night warned him one last time before Shade could test his new weapon.
After listening to Night, Shade nodded and looked towards the dummy, the entire arena was now silent, everyone was curious to see how strong a weapon that could radiate such an aura would be.
*𝘞𝘖𝘖𝘖𝘚𝘏*
As soon as Shade raised his hand, the Trident shot itself straight into the dummy, it pierced the wind and flew at such a speed that a loud howling sound was heard before it completely destroyed the dummy, leaving behind only a few parts of it which were now breaking down and turning into nothingness due to the pure darkness surrounding it.

My second life in a fantasy world
Important Announcement: English is not my first language, sorry for the mistakes After living a long life on earth, it was finally time to leave, bedridden in a hospital, surrounded by a large family, between sobs and sad goodbye glances, bearing many memories, some good, some bad, funny moments, sad moments, happy moments, tragic moments, I finally closed my eyes and plunged into the abyss of darkness and what awaited me on the other side was ... An old ex-mercenary hungry for adventure is reincarnated in a world of swords and magic, with no trap powers, just his own strength, wits, and outlandish friends. P.S. I am a totally amateur writer, I write just for fun, I am working on illustrations with another person, I plan to put one on the cover of each chapter reflecting its content. At the moment I already have partially assembled the story, I just need to polish a little, the rhythm in which the chapters appear may vary. The original version in Spanish can be found here for the curious https://www.wattpad.com/myworks/250682744-mi-segunda-vida-en-un-mundo-de-fantas%C3%ADa

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
