Unlucky?Player Chapter 14

'Hehehehehe' Blade couldn't help but giggle. '12 hours? I'd be surprised if that Nate-kid could even stay there for 2 hours, hmph maybe Night might be able to stay in there for around 8 hours but 12 hours seems a little too much even for him.'Blade thought.
Inside the room,
'I wonder how the other masters managed to damage the wall, I can't even cover myself properly mmh' Night thought.
'Damn how's he doing this, its already been an hour and hasn't even moved a bit'
Nate thought to himself as he slowly peaked at Night from time to time.
After multiple hours passed,
Night-
'Hmm since the aura is essentially a part of me, I wonder what would happen if I spread it across the room to sense my surroundings, well if Nate dies he can always respawn 'Night thought before concentrating.
He focused on clearing his mind, a blank space, pitch black, slowly white lines started to form, multiple lines running through each other forming a grid.
The grid had a very clear boundary, which Night assumed were the borders of the room, slowly bit by bit objects started to take shape, the objects were made of lines as well, the lines slowly built up until finally, they stopped, he looked around in his mind-space, all the objects had a grey aura on the inside, however, Night saw a humanoid figure, which naturally was Nate but he had a golden hue inside him and within that hue, he could see multiple colors, 'perhaps it was because Nate was a mage?' he shrugged as he pushed that thought aside.
He needed to focus a little more and he might figure it out, ' wait what if I use my energy slices in my mind space? after all this space was built with my aura as a foundation', thoughts constantly crossed his mind until he decided to try it.

Slowly, Night visualized a figure in his mind, he visualized himself holding a weapon, a sword materialized in his mind and he was focusing on channeling his energy into the weapon but it wasn't as easy as he thought, after all, this was all taking place within his mind space and it wasn't the same as normally channeling his energy into his weapon.
Nate-
After seeing Night's unflinching concentration, Nate himself started giving his all. 'What was he even supposed to do? where does one even start? '
After debating for a few minutes, he decided to control his breathing and focused on his mana flow.
The anatomy of the body in Genesis was identical to that of a normal human being, (That is at base stat) but the most obvious difference was the presence of mana circuits, mages weren't the only classes that had these circuits.
Then what was the difference between other classes and mages? mages were more proficient at the usage of mana, allowing them to use higher tier/grade spells, this was only due to their mana channels and mana flow. Mages had larger mana channels and smoother as well as faster mana flow.
However, mana control was something that depended on the player itself and nobody fully understood how to control mana.
How did this matter? for example a sphere or a ball made of wind when cast onto an enemy would certainly deal quite a lot of damage, but the same spell now with a different shape(a thorn or a needle) and same matter as well would likely pierce the enemy more, its essentially a matter of rock paper scissors.
These minor differences in the spell's usage allow mages to deal higher damage depending upon the situation and this was what Nate was hoping to achieve. If he could even get the slightest of a hint by meditating, then he would surely be able to catch up to Night.

'The manipulation of mana, hmmm, it is like giving clay different shapes but without the use of both the hands' he thought
Before he could think anymore a loud sound was heard. It was Blade, who stood there with a shocked face, actually a face filled with horror.
"Tha-that's 12 hours b-b-both of you," Blade said clearly unable to speak properly.
Both of them looked surprised, 12 hours already? it only felt like a few hours at max. As soon as they got out of the room and went to wash their face, Blade went into the meditation room and whispered in shock "Monsters..... both of them."
The walls on Nights side had newly formed marks, not too deep but prominent, whereas the mana on Nate's side was trembling with excitement.
After getting out, both of them decided to call it a day and logged off.
Usually, they'd get dinner but not today, they were awfully exhausted, after playing for such a long time anyone would feel that way.

Arcane Transmogrification (Book Two of the Pentacle Series)
Book Two of the Pentacle Series Danny can only hope that his most recent efforts have saved the caravan he was traveling with, but was the price he paid too great? [Please consider this is an alternate/abridged and free version of book 2. The newly published Amazon version is over twice as long. I added a number of additional adventures, expanded on Danny's personal relationships, and made many revisions to the overall storyline. I apologize, as I have no current plans to add any portions of Book 3 to this website.]
