CHAPTER 194

Jade was just about to throw her favorite music box on the ground, when Asia grabbed her hand, turned her around, and pulled her in close for a hug.

"Jade please, please love, be okay for me," Asia pleaded.

"Aaaahhhh!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. It hurt her so deeply.

She did not want any of this to occur but it did. Why did it have to be her that would suffer such fate?

"Why did the heavens chose to punish me this way? Why?"

"I do not know Jade but it is not the end of the world," Asia consoled.

"Why? Asia, why? Why me? What wrong did I ever do to be subjected to this kind of fate? He killed them. If not for him they would still be alive with me today."

"Jade, do not say that. Who knows if another harm would have befallen them? It was their time, just accept it and move on," Asia assured her.

"But it hurts still, Asia. It hurts." She continued to sob on her friend's shoulder.

"Zale would get what is coming to him but before then I need you to be okay for me. I need my, master to be alright. What remains of the Frost family and the mafia gang is ready to stand by their leader if she is willing to lead them so that they can avenge her parents and their families. So are you going to while away here or are you going to channel it all and kill that bastard?"

"I hate him and I want him dead."

"Good, we all do and we must take back from him all that he deprived you of."

"I do not know. I just want to make them all pay one way or another but when it comes to Xander, whenever I think of doing something harmful to him, my insides would churn and my heart would burn me from deep within."

"Oh, dear." Asia pulled away from the embrace and looked at her friend in the eyes. She was searching her eyes for an answer and hoping that it would not be true but unfortunately, it was so.

"If what they say is really right, then I am afraid…"

"She really is the mate of the Dragon Lord."

Both girls turned their heads in time to look at the intruder and their eyes locked on Macy and Jenny.

Jenny who was out leading the scouts on Xander's perimeter returned and was informed of Jade's outburst and decision. Quickly she flew as fast as her wings could carry her only for her to bump into Macy on her way there.

The two of them looked worried but they did not say anything to each other and turned on the doorknob.

Only for them to get in and they met Jade laying her worries to Asia. At first, Macy felt broken seeing her like that but there wasn't much she could do.

"Jade." Her voice broke but her hands remained outstretched to her friend, waiting and hoping she would come in for a hug. Just as expected, Jade made her way to Macy and let her hug her in her arms. Jade did as she wanted and left Asia, rushing up to her other best friend.

Seconds passed and the two remained there like that. Not doing anything other than Macy patting her back and hugging her tightly.

"It would all be fine," Macy encouraged her friend.

"Yeah. It would be okay, please let it go, I know it is hard but please, Quinn."

Hearing that name alone brought back the reason why it all became like this and got Jade even angrier.

Pulling away from Macy's hug, she turned to face Jenny. "It cannot be okay, Jenny and you know so yourself. Nothing can make this go away. They are gone, all just gone."

"I am so sorry. I did not mean to offend you," Jenny quickly apologized. Even though Jade was mad at her, she knew that it wasn't any of their faults and none of them should have to suffer because of her.

Letting out a deep sigh, she nodded at Jenny then averted her gaze back to Macy. "Did you know?" She did not need to explain further but looking over at Jenny and then back to Macy, that was enough explanation to do.

Macy did not respond. She did not know how she was going to tell her that answer.

"Umm, can we give them some space to talk?" Asia gestured to Jenny and the latter agreed, then they left the duo to talk things out.

Jade looked over at the door, completely sure that the two had given them some privacy. She asked again. "Macy, did you know that the man I love and his friends were dragons and not really humans?"

Macy's eyes widened at the reveal. She knew they went to save her but she did not know the full extent as to what had happened. Unfortunately, her boyfriend had not yet talked to her about it.

And she did not know if Jade had seen all of that or not. So hearing her ask it upfront made her heart beat fast.

"Macy, answer me!" Jade yelled at her causing her to flinch. "Did you know or not? Tell me. Did you keep it a secret from me?"

"I am sorry, Jade. I knew the truth."

"Since when and why did you keep it from me? I thought I was your best friend?"

"I am sorry Jade."

"So you knew he was my problem all along?" Now she was being angry And pouring the blame on her friend when she wasn't too.

"Jade!"

"Yes. You saw the sign but refused to tell me he was the dragon Lord."

"How could you accuse me of doing that Jade? What sign? I have remained truthful to you all these while and you question me this way? Did you by any chance tell me anything or any sign? How am I to know that he is the cause of your problems pone and even till now, I have nop bloody idea of what is going on here!"

She too was mad at her friend. She saw Asia alive but did not have time to ask her what happened and Jade now looked alright but now she is yelling and crying…

Sigh everything was just turning upside down.

"I am sorry, Macy I am sorry but it all…"

"Just tell me, please. Tell me what is wrong dear. I am here for you and I am so sorry for not telling you when I found out but I was made not to. I have sworn to secrecy and the balance of my relationship depended on it, so forgive me for prioritizing my happiness over a secret I wasn't meant to be the one to tell you when your boyfriend should have."

"I am sorry, Macy. I am not angry at you. I am just angry at myself. Father left me a coded message stating that I should beware of the Dragon Lord. Of course, I did not know who it was but I should have known after seeing the tattoo on his body and the huge painting of a dragon in his room and study. I felt he just had a liking for it but truthfully, my mind probed me at him but I was just too in love with him that I decided to throw a blind eye to it all."

She said it all in a rush that she was out of breath right after. Macy was forced to quickly help her in sitting down before she choked herself or something.

"Breath Jade, breathe. I am here. Tell me slowly. What has Xander being a dragon had got to do with your rage. If you calm down and wait you would see he is the same person and he loves you but what I do not know is why your father warned you about him?"

Jade felt like knocking some sense into her friend. "He did it, Macy. He did it."

"Did what?"

Just making her want to say it brought back the tears in Jade's eyes. "He did it."

Macy who was already seated opened her mouth in shock. She could well guess what her friend was trying to say.

"Xander ordered Zale to kill my family. The man I love brought about the doom of my family."

The more she spoke, the more the tears streamed down and the pain resurfaced. "He did it, Macy. Xander killed them."

"No. Oh my God, Jade. I am so sorry love. I am so very sorry." She dropped back down on the bed and enveloped her friend in a hug.

"Being a dragon didn't matter to me. I loved him with my whole being but why did life treat me like this? I should have known, Arctic warned me about him but I threw caution to the wind and fell for him. I hate myself. I am to blame for my misery."
