CHAPTER 100 – Confused Macy

"Okay. But until when were you going to tell me, Jay? Or does that mean that you did not love me enough?" Her heart clenched at her own words.

Even though she did not want to think about it but it was the truth.

"That is not true, Macy. I love you with all my heart." Jay turned so that he was now facing her fully on the bed then he held both her hands in his.

"Then why did you hide it from me? Why didn't you tell me the truth?" Her voice broke and her eyes burned. The tears were beginning to gather and he could feel all of her pain.

'It was not easy. Would you have loved me so easily if you knew who I truly was?" There was no reply. It was not because she wasn't sure if she would. Macy believed that given the time and place, being changed and she met him somewhere else, she would have loved him still.

"You are not saying anything Macy."

"What do you want me to say? You ask me to trust that you love me but here you are doubting mine."

"Up until now, I wasn't sure where I stood with you, Macy and you know that. You only told me of your feelings a few days back. So forgive me if I was not willing to throw away the chance that I had to be with you all to reveal my deepest secret."

'Not much of an excuse. You shouldn't lie."

"I didn't lie."

"You didn't say anything either."

"Come on, Macy. Do not be like this. I am sorry. I did not want to hurt you," Jay defended himself.

"With what? The truth? Do I look so fragile to you that I could not handle it?"

Jay let out a deep sigh and shook his head at her. She literally just fainted twice and now she is saying this. Like seriously!

"Okay, I know. I was wrong but baby please forgive me. You are the best thing that had ever happened to me. I do not want to lose you. I admit I was wrong. I was scared and I know I did not give you the chance and I just assumed. Please do not be mad."

"Fine. I would pardon you but never you lie to me."

"I won't. Normally, we do not marry outside our kin and I was surprised that for the first time I felt something and so did Xander."

'What do you mean by that?"

"Remember the day Xander almost killed me, thinking I took advantage of you?"

"Yes."

"Remember that as he was living, you licked my blood?"

"I did that. If only you knew what that had done to the beast inside of me raging to come out. Never once had he been so restless because of a girl before but this time, he was very restless. He roared in joy deep inside when you did that."

"Does that explain why I can feel your emotions and you can feel mine?"

"To some extent. Macy, this might shock you but I think that you are my mate."

GBAGHAN!

"What now?"

"Calm down, Macy. It would explain why we can both feel each other. I would explain some more when you are calmer. For now, you get scared when you feel it and your fear of the reality is what is preventing you from seeing what should be seen and feeling what should be felt."

"It is not easy honestly, Jay."

"Do you trust me?"

"Where is that coming from all of a sudden?"

"Just answer the question. Please."

'I do. Even though everything seems messed up now, I still do trust you."

'Then do you believe I love you and I would not hurt you?"

"Yes." She nodded her head at him. "And I love you too." She closed her eyes then reopened them and smiled weakly at him.

"Then that would do for now." Macy's brows creased at his words. "I do not want to feed you with too much information now, Macy. You would need time to process all that I have said. But know that I love you with all my heart and I apologize for not telling you the truth on time."

"Okay."

"Are you sure?" Macy could not reply but nod once. "You know I can feel your emotions and it is quite a mess right now."

"I am happy you can feel it. You just put me in this."

"I am sorry but if you do npot want to accept me still. I would readily leave your life and let you be."

"Are you not scared that I know your secret/"

"No."

"Why?"

"We can just kill you."

"What!"

"Hahhaa… relax. I was just kidding. As much as that seemed to be an easy situation. I would have to wipe your memory of any of this."

"So wait, you mean I would forget all these/"

'Yes. Wouldn't you want that? It is not doing you much good." Jay's gaze remained fixed on her like he was a predator waiting to get down on his prey, watching her every movement and reaction.

"No. I do not want that."

"Why?"

"I do not know but somehow, amongst the turmoil, I feel deep inside with conflicted feelings, a part of me is happy at knowing the truth. I feel happy at being closer to you and I love you more than your secrets."

Jay's lips curved up into a smile, showing his perfect set of teeth. "Macy."

"I know it won't be easy and for that, I am prepared. I know that with you I can face anything head-on. I do not want to throw away this happiness I have found just because you are not human. I admit it is scary but I am willing to give it a try if you are willing to have me."

At her last word, Jay's inner dragon jubilated inside. It was a thing that he could sense that she was his mate all this while and that was why he was always acting so troubled when she was not close by.

It explained a lot of things and her not rejecting him was already something he was happy for.

Even if she would not love him but having her by his side to love and to cherish was more than enough for Jay.

"Really, Macy?"

"Yes, Jay. I would not leave you. I am willing to stay and be with you."

"Macy." He broke into an uproar of laughter. It felt like a dream to him. He could not wait to tell his friends about it but even at that, he would have to wait for Xander to reveal it to Jade first before he did reveal it to them.

"Although I am confused."

"As you should be. I know, love. I know but I am here to answer all of your questions." Jay drew closer to Macy and pulled her in for a warm hug. "It would be alright, Macy. I promise."

Rather than speaking and ruining the moment, Macy focused on staying calm and hugging him back. This was a big step in her life and one that she was ready to go on an adventure in with both her eyes wide open.

He pulled back after some time of trying to soothe her using his hands to gently rub her back and distract her wandering thoughts.

"Hey. Feeling better?" Jay asked.

"Umm…" Macy's eye's blinked thrice. It was as though an idea just struck home.

Immediately she looked back up at him, his forehead to be precise to check out for the horns. A part of her was praying, waiting, and hoping silently that a miracle would happen and she would see it firsthand again.

She really wanted to touch it and have a feel of it in her hands.

It was as though he was reading her mind and before she could ask, Jay closed his eyes briefly. He stood up and took some steps back from the bed. When he reopened them…

It was a different thing she saw.

Macy's jaw dropped at the magnificent sight in front of her. She saw at the horns appeared with a shift in his form.

No longer was the person standing before her, the Jay she knew. This time he was different, with the charisma of someone stronger and more powerful. His black horns shone with delight under the white light in the room with his dark blue feathery wings not be outshined.

A strange yet trembling powerful aura swept in the room the moment his wings flared open to their full length, showcasing its glory proudly to her.

Minutes passed and Macy's mouth remained wide open. She had totally forgotten to close them as she marveled at the sight before her.

"It is beautiful."
