CHAPTER 83

The sound of the gun had made the yelling increase and people to run in a hap-hard manner. Xander who had been informed beforehand about the secret meeting with the Freezing Mafia Gang and a member of Ander's Mafia Gang had hurried over to stop their transaction.

"What nonsense is happening now?" He ignored everything and made his way towards the entrance of the building. Just before he stepped foot inside the building, he heard someone call out his name.

**Minutes Ago**

Jade had wasted no time in dealing Mr Tony some beating and while she was distracted with that, one of his men had decided to shoot at her but she was lucky enough to have noticed it and Jake also helped her tackle the man down, thereby causing him to shoot.

Luckily for Jade, the bullet had missed her due to the intervention from Jake.

In this mini chaos, Mr Tony elbowed Jade while she was not looking, causing her to bend forward. Before she could get up and turn, he brought out a pen knife and stabbed her close to her ribs from her back.

"Ahh!" Jade had not expected that he would do so. First off, she had beaten the living day light out of him and he was weak but just a little distraction had caused her to get injured.

She quickly stepped away from him then used her left hand to clutch at the spot where he had stabbed her close to her side. "I'll make you pay."

She was done playing nice. Perhaps she had not beaten him well enough and that was why he had the guts to stab her. Taking a step forward, Jade brought out her own dagger and turned it inside out, ready to deal him a heavy wound.

Rather than feel threatened, Mr Tony smiled at her and did not get into a fighting stance. "Bingo!"

Jade ignored his remark and took another step forward, stretching her right hand but before her hand could make contact with his face, she halted in her step and blinked several times.

Her head felt light all of a sudden and drowsy. Instinctively, she looked down at the stab wound first before averting her gaze to the culprit.

"You can do nothing. Just surrender."

"You wish. Ahh!" Jade's eyes blazed more with anger that the idiot had actually tried to harm her. Never in her life did she want to be vulnerable and die like her family.

From that one wish, her blood began to boil and she willed her body to move even though the poison was beginning to take effect.

Seeing that the paralysis poison on the dagger barely had much effect on her or it was just slower in taking effect, Mr Tony sprinted away through another door before she could get to him.

"Quick, after him, do not let him escape," Jade ordered and herself alongside five other men chased after him through the side door.

By the time they got outside, it was too late as Mr Tony had joined the crowd running and quickly got into his car and rode away.

It was at this point she was about chasing when she noticed the familiar figure of someone.

'What is he doing here?' she asked herself inwardly.

"Guys, chase after Anders's men and trail him. I need to handle some things first. Call the others to leave now."

"Yes boss."

She quickly took away her mask once her men had left and removed the band holding her hair in a ponytail before she called out his name.

"Xander!"

**Now**

Xander turned around and saw Jade who was dressed in an all-black outfit, walking towards him from the side.

"Quinn." His eyes were a bit wide. It was obvious he wasn't expecting her to be there. What had also caught his attention was the way her legs wobbled as she walk.

It almost felt like she would give way and pass out anytime soon.

"Bloody hell, Quinn!" Nothing else mattered to Xander at that moment other than her. His heart began to b eat fast and his breathing ragged.

Using his sharp senses, he managed to notice where her pain was coming from. "No. Who is that idiot that hurt her?' Xander asked himself internally.

He did not wait to figure things out before he ran to meet up with her and carried her bridal style.

"Put me down, Xan. I can walk." She would have escaped with ease, but she did not want for Xander to see the scene inside, especially when she was not sure that Jake and her men had successfully gotten away.

The last thing she needed was for him to find out that she had a gang she was heading. That was why she went ahead to meet him.

"Quinn, you are in no position to argue. I am taking you home." Jade stopped struggling and just held on to his shirt as she let her head rest against his chest.

"Hey, not your house. Take me home." If not for the fact that she was in a dire situation, Xander would have burst out laughing.

"You are not in good shape, yet you still have the time to worry whose house you want to be taken to. How careless can you be?"

Although his words did not carry any anger in them, open look at his eyes would tell you that he was very much pissed off especially as he did not know exactly how what happened, happened.

All that mattered to him right now was to get her away from here and stop her bleeding.

"Quinn." No answer. "Please stay with me, Quinn. Stay with me."

Quickly, Xander got to his car and placed her at the back seat to lie down while he got into the driver's seat and drove off.

It was a good thing he knew her house. And he drove her home.

By the time they arrived at her place, she was barely conscious. Xander placed her on her bed and immediately tore at her black top where she was stabbed to get a closer look at the wound.

The wound had started to change colors and he knew it was poison just from the sight. The problem was that he wasn't too sure what kind of poison that was used.

"Bandages. I need bandages, clean cloth, water and the sort." After listing out what he need, he made her way top her kitchen to get a bowl and water before moving ahead to look for the things he needed in her room.

In no time, Xander had gotten most of the things needed except the bandages. "Come on damn bandages, where did she keep you?"

He walked into her closet, hoping to find anything suitable or close to a bandage to use but he did not see it as well.

He had tried asking Jade but she was already passed out and did not provide him with any answers.

"Arghh!"

Just as he was searching through her closet, his eyes fell upon one ice sculpture hanging at the side of one of her wardrobes.

It was a peacock green feathered ice sculpture with a crean crown on its head. It had so fascinated Xander that for a minute there, he forgot what he came to look for and let his fingers trailed the body of the ice sculpture till it landed on the head and the crown.

It was when his fingers brushed against the crown that it felt it move a bit. His brows creased by the strange feeling and instinctively, he pulled the head of the peacock back a bit and surprisingly, he heard a sound at the opposite side of the room.

By now, Xander's interest was already piqued and he made his way to where he heard the sound come from.

No longer was his eyes as blazing red with anger again. Rather it was filled with curiosity as to what he was going to find.

By the time he got to the wall, he saw another ice sculpture but this time it was a red swan instead with a white glowing heart.

He pressed on the heart and a loud noise followed. Xander peeled his gaze off the Swan and looked at where the noise came from, only for him to find out that her closet had shifted backwards and moved to the side, creating an entrance into a secret room.

"Interesting. Now where do you lead to?" He muttered to himself and first of all checked to see if Jade had woken up due to the sound but found her still sleeping.

Just as he entered through the small entrance to the secret room, the sight he found was something that left the almighty naughty CEO of Warner's Corporation stunned and wide eyed.

It felt as though his jaw dropped but even that could not compare to the shock he was in.

Nothing in the world would have ever prepared him for what he saw.
