CHAPTER 49

Jade could not wait to get away from him. He deserved to be in a psychiatric home.

It was just a waste of handsomeness if he really was crazy, Jade thought. Luckily for her, she did. Only God knew how but she did.

Days later...

Macy put a call through to Jade. She had finally agreed to attend the meeting but on her own terms and the Warner Corporation agreed to it as well.

Since both parties were in agreement, Jade felt it was okay to reveal herself as the CEO of her company.

"Hey where are you, we are going to be late." Macy chided her.

"I could say the same about you. Where are you?" Jade asked. She could hear the sound of heels clicking on the floor with every step Macy took.

"I just entered the company and heading for the elevator. Compared to you, I think I did best."

"Uh, you are the figure of the company, Macy. Show some example."

"Says the CEO lady, who is still at home when she has an important meeting with representatives of Warner Corporation waiting for you."

"Let them wait. Give me some credit Macy, I am not hopeless. I am on my way. The traffic is annoying," Jade defended herself.

"I know. Mine was hell. What made us sleep in on such an auspicious day?"

"Work, baby, all night work."

"Anyway, good luck and try to hasten up, please. I would try to entertain them in your absence."

"Thanks. That is why I love you."

"Just that?" Macy teased, letting out a burst of soft laughter.

"You know that and more. Okay, let me not delay you. I can feel your blush from here."

"Get away."

The phone call went dead and Macy hurried for the lift before it closed.

Twenty minutes later...

Macy picked u her phone to call Jade.

Ring!

Ring!

"Hello, where are you"

"I am coming. What is the matter?" Jade asked. She could feel the urgency in her friend's voice and knew that something was up.

"Luckily they also had traffic issues. I was informed that they have arrived. I would be heading there now, please tell me you are close. We are already thirty minutes behind time, Jade."

"I know. I know. We just arrived at the company. I would be up in a minute or two, please. Go in before me."

"Fine. You better make it up to me."

"Sure thing, Macy. I would."

Macy heaved a deep breath after cutting the call and turned towards the meeting room. "Phew!"

Without wasting any more time than they had already wasted, Macy walked to the meeting room and opened the doors.

As soon as she got in, she straightened herself and walked professionally towards the group of men seated at her left with heads lowered doing one or two things on their phones.

"Ahem!" Macy cleared her throat to get their attention and when each one of them except the last man, peeled their eyes off their phones, Macy was stunned dead on the spot with jaw dropped at the sight in front of her.

She could not believe what her eyes were seeing right now.

The very representatives of the Warner Corporation were none other than the guys she met at the club the other day.

Slowly, her eyes trailed over the two men whom she knew and the other guy she had no idea about.

For some reason she had wondered if he was the guy who had saved Jade but he just did not look like it to her and she peeled her eyes off him and finally, her lovely orbs came to land on the last man sitting towards to extreme.

Till now, he still had not removed his eyes from his phone, causing Macy to furrow her brows a bit. She was about speaking when he lifted his head from what he as looking at.

Like a movie star, his eyes blinked, making his long lashes feel even longer like that of an angel as his eyes slowly looked up at the person who just entered.

The look on his face portrayed that of a bored, yet dangerous immortal or demon god. He had an aura of dominance round about him that made all those before him maintain themselves without being told.

As on as his eyes locked on Macy, her heart froze in her chest and her breathing seized. There was an intense feeling in those eyes that made Macy feel like she just walked into the lion's den and her body tensed up with her.

'How could one person have so much influence and dominance with just one look," Macy echoed in her mind. 'Breathe, breathe, breathe.' she reminded herself to do the needful lest she choked and collapsed.

She had told Jade she would handle it. Just how was she going to do that with someone staring at her like a predator examing his prey.

'Jade, where are you? Quickly come before he eats me up.' Macy pleaded in her head.

She could not believe this was the person sent as a representative for the company. If it was the other two, then no doubt, but him, he looked like a boss on his own.

If a representative was like this, then there was no doubt that the owner would we much more fiercesome, Macy thought once more.

Just looking at him almost eat her up, it was then it dawned on Macy that he may have just been the one who had saved Jade that night.

Even though they had not said it, but when they spoke about him on their way and from the way Sky answered the call, she knew he exuded authority.

And looking at all four men here, only he carried such aura. If that was so, then there was hope. Jade was going to be her saving grace.

'Come on, Jade, where are you. This has been more than two minutes already.'

"Is she the CEO?"
