CHAPTER 23

Although it was only for few seconds, the kiss felt like a long one for Jade who stood there wide eyed, not moving.

Seconds later, Xander leaned away from the kiss. His eyes held so much passion and desire in them as he gazed down lovingly at her.

"Be mine." He said in a deep and sexy cool voice, making her skin tingle from hearing him.

At that moment, his words seemed to ring continuously in her head, 'Be mine, be mine, be mine.'

Jade couldn't get that sexy voice out as it carried a form of authority in his tone. He wasn't really asking her now to be his, was he?

Rather than get a loving answer which he was hoping for, Jade blinked twice and the next thing she did left him stunned and in pain.

She moved her knee up a little and kneed him in the groin, making his eyes widen and he leaned forward, almost pressing her to the wall, but she was fast.

Crack!

As soon as her knee sent home her message, she wriggled her body to the side and escaped being crushed and captured under his weight.

Who knew what he would do to her if he caught her? Her once charming brown eyes turned completely cold and emotionless, leaving him wondering if this was the same girl he knew or thought he knew.

For others, they would feel their skin crawl up her the deathly glare she gave him, but for him, he found it rather bemusing and gave her a wry smile as his lips lifted up.

She used the back of her palm to wipe her lips clean several times as though she was scrubbing some dirt off a cloth while giving him the 'I will kill you,' look.

"Be mine, you wish pervert!" she half yelled, took one more look at the street and took the bend leading off the road.

He wanted to chase after her and not let her escape, but he was in a dire situation right now. A minute after she left, the men ran past where he hid again, running all the way back up.

Quickly he hid himself properly, so as not to attract their unwanted attention. He wasn't in the most perfect condition to fight and he knew it. Perhaps if she hadn't injured his manhood, he wouldn't be in such a situation now.

All he could do was to grit in pain and just a while for it to wear off, before stepping out and heading for his car.

At that moment his phone vibrated in his pocket. He brought it out and answered the call without giving a look at his screen since his eyes were shut, still feeling the after effect of the pain.

"Speak."

He managed to let out his normal deep and authoritative voice that showed he didn't have time and was busy.

"Hey Xan! Where are you?"

Upon hearing the voice, his eyes shot open. "Sky?"

"No, it is your girlfriend. Yes of course it is Sky! Were you expecting someone else?"

That was the sarcastic reply he got from his ever calm, handsome, yet terribly hot blooded friend, when he was pissed at them.

Xander shook his head a bit and heaved a soft sigh of relief. Can you send someone over to pick me up? I will send you my address now."

Before Sky could refuse him or ask further questions, he hung up and kept his phone in his pocket.

"Bloody bas... Urgh!!" Sky cursed, looking at his phone.

What would he do to these friends of his?

All of a sudden Xander brought out his phone back, remembering to text where he was to his friend and locked his phone.

'You are feisty, tigress. But now, I want you more.' He said in his mind as a husky sexy laughter escaped his throat.

As soon as Jade left the street, she beckoned a taxi and instantly ran away, not bothering to stay for anything else. She had gotten all she needed, information and all, so there wasn't any use waiting for her capture.

Within thirty minutes, she was already in front of her condo unit and opened the door, stepping in, before closing it behind her.

She leaned back, resting her weight against the door and heaved a deep sigh with her right hand placed over her chest.

Her mind went back to the incident before her departure.

She wasn't expecting what had happened to happen. All she could remember was him saying something pretty.

She didn't hear clearly as her mind wasn't focused on him. Which was why she was about to ask what he had said when he captured her lips with his.

Her heart began to race in her chest, loud and clear.

She pressed her hand down, clutching tighter to the dress covering her skin as her mind remembered the feel of the kiss... His lips pressed against hers.

The softness and the warmth from his lips and breath. The ever tenderness with which he pressed them hard against hers. The feel of his tongue that gently caressed her lower lip...

The thudding in her chest only intensified with her careless thoughts, leaving her stunned.

Before long, her cheeks burned a bright red and they became hot.

She began feeling hot all over as her mind replayed all the feelings and emotions she felt.
