My Space-Time System Chapter 149

[Luckily the array isn't that high level and since we have deactivated the alarm array, you can have as many tries as you want as long as you don't completely go off course.] The system said causing a smile to appear on Blake's face.
'Alright let's give it a try.' Blake said in an excited tone.
His headache was gone and he was brimming with energy, renewing his determination to leave the underground dungeon.
To crack the array, Blake could conjure 30 mana needles and synch their rotation with that of the nodes or he could conjure the needles and wait for the right time to connect them.
The first option was insane and unreal for someone at Blake level, but the second option was doable.
"This shouldn't be a problem…" Since Blake was able to disable 45 nodes, 30 nodes are meant to be a walk in the park, so he thought.
Blake went at it for 30 minutes without a sign of progress Castiel and Brian decided to use that time to cultivate.
'Why must things be so hard, why must the owner have everything locked up?' Blake cursed the unknown owner as he was met with another failure.
Although the rotation speed of the nodes was quite fast he didn't have much of a problem with it, his main issue was his reaction speed.
Every time he tried to connect to the nodes, either he couldn't get all the nodes at their centers or he didn't some of the mana needles missed their targets, causing him to growl in frustration on multiple occasions.
Soon, minutes turned to an hour, but Blake wasn't giving up. He had been on it for 2 straight hours without a break, leaving both the system and his friends stunned by his level of determination.

Unlike the trap and alarm arrays, this wasn't tasking and the pressure of dying was no longer present, therefore enabling Blake to last longer.
"Finally!!" After 30 more minutes of trying, Blake screamed out in joy, drawing the attention of Brian and Castiel who were cultivating.

The array at the center of the double door lit up and the doors began opening.
Seeing this, the trio quickly got into a defensive position because no one had an idea of what was on the other side.
Unlike the scene of a monster prison which they had expected, they saw a peaceful, spotless office.
"This… is an office?" Shock and confusion were written all over Blake's face because no one would have thought that an office would be protected by so many arrays.
The office was 20 meters wide and at the one end of the office was a red leaf maple desk which had a brown leather chair.
Beside the desk were 2 file cabinets and on the walls were different pictures of the Bulian hills
Blake was disappointed when his eyes scanned the room and couldn't find anything noteworthy till his eyes fell on the file cabinets.
'Anything?' Blake asked the system to scan for any traps or hidden arrays.
[It's just an ordinary file cabinet. Every item in this room is surprisingly normal for a place like this.] The system quickly ran a scan and reported that the cabinets were clean.
"What the fuck?" Blake opened up the first cabinet only to see it was empty. He quickly went for the second cabinet, but it was also empty.
"All that for an empty office?" At this moment Brian didn't know whether to laugh or cry because it was funny that Blake had been working to disable the arrays for almost a day only to see this, but this also meant they would be spending more time here.

'All that motivation and determination was for naught…' The anger and disappointment in Blake's eyes couldn't be hidden.
Having not rested from disabling the array, coupled with the disappointment, Blake was weak so he sat on the leather chair with his palms together in a thinking position.
"There is no way someone in his right senses will protect an empty office with so many arrays… Where the fuck is the owner of this damn place and why will he being people here without showing himself?" Blake thought aloud as he activated his mana senses and began scanning the room again.
"The walls still have the same level of mana coursing through them, just like the system said, everything here lacks a mana signature meaning they are normal." At this point, Blake stood up and began pacing around the room.
"…" If not for their unknown location and the cloud of disappointment in the room, Blake's act of Sherlock homes would have been funny, but right now they could only hope that he did figure something out.
After pacing around the room and finding nothing, Blake returned to the leather chair and began rubbing his temples, but that was when he felt a familiar feeling.
'Locator.'
Having used the powers of a locator multiple times, Blake knew the signs of the clairvoyance skill. He quickly emptied his mind of doubts and focused on the thought of something special being in the room.
Out of nowhere, a white ethereal gas began filling the room, but Blake didn't lose focus as he patiently waited for the 'call'.
The white gas in the room began shrinking before gathering to Blake who then opened his eyes which had lost their pupils and were now glowing white.
The white ethereal gas that gathered to Blake burst out forming a trail that led to a certain part of the wall at the left side of the office.
Brian and Castiel were stunned by the scene and were eager to know what was going on, but because they were afraid that disturbing Blake may stop what was going they watched.
When Blake got to the end of the trail, he placed his palm on the wall.

When his palm got in contact with the wall, what looked like a hexagram with six rings at the vertex appeared.

Now some warnings; I am new to this, I don't have much experience so I'm trying to get some by writing this. So I don't stress myself out this will be a relatively short story but I don't know. Also this is sort of the beginning of my world, if this works out and I decide to write more I would love to keep it in this world. My grammar isn't perfect, if anything it's one of the things i struggle with. I don't have a release schedule, but I usualllt release as soon as i'm done with a chapter. Also I would really appreciate it if you can point out my mistakes, I can't learn if i don't know what i'm doing wrong.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
