Pokemon: Master Of Tactics Chapter 205

After Daniel agreed to become the direct subordinate of Alex, Alex told Daniel what would happen in 1 year and told him to prepare for it.
Alex wasn't afraid that Daniel would betray him at this point. He considers Daniel as a smart person who is hardly influenced by emotions.
Such people are not hard to control if you know how their mind works.
As long as Daniel enjoys enough advantages from Alex and Alex is strong enough, Daniel would never betray him.
In addition, the fear of being chased by Team Rocket if he betrays Alex is a huge deterrent.
This combination of reward and fear should ensure that Daniel will not get any such thoughts.
Of course, there is also a chance that he will still do it, but this probability is so small and avertable that Alex halfway ignores it.
Daniel, who had learned that Alex had a chance to get a position with incredible potential and benefits, got excited about becoming one of Alex's 3 direct subordinates.
Especially after finding out that Alex already has another trainer as a subordinate, who is on the Elite rank, he was a little agitated.
He suddenly felt that Alex's chances of success were really high and that it was a precious chance for him to get closer to his dream.
Daniel looked seriously at Alex and knelt as he said, "Boss, I'm waiting for your order."
Alex emotionlessly looked at Daniel's eyes and said nothing for a moment.
He tried to find out by analyzing the expressions of Daniel why he decided to join him. But after he couldn't figure anything out of Daniel, he stopped thinking about it. It doesn't matter whether he was doing it due to advantages, fear, or genuine respect; Alex was sure that Daniel is smart enough not to betray him.

Alex spoke with a commanding tone. "I only have one order for you. Get strong as soon as possible. If you get stronger quickly, I will give you assignments where I will not hold back on your reward."
Daniel agreed and nodded with a serious expression as he thought inwardly, 'Is he really not afraid that I will get stronger too quickly? Hmm... I'll see whether his confidence is justified.'
Alex looked at Daniel and said in a soft tone, "Don't disappoint me."
Although these words were very mild, Daniel felt the cold indifference of Alex through them, which sent a shiver through his entire body. He quietly agreed, and the room grew awkwardly quiet.
He knew that his position was probably not important in Alex's head, so he knew what to do. Even if Alex said that he would be 1 of the 3 (or the remaining 2) subordinates who can take this test, it was still a possibility that Alex would find 2 better subordinates, and he loses the place because he was too weak.
'But I will need more money to make my Pokémon stronger faster,' thought Daniel when he realized that his current balance was nowhere enough for the expensive items and Pokémon foods required to grow stronger quickly.
Daniel looked at Alex and said in a respectful tone, "Boss, I know a Pokémon that lives nearby and levels up very quickly even after reaching the Elite-rank. Thereby, I think this Pokémon is an S-rank Pokémon."
Alex showed no greed to his words as Daniel had expected but an indifferent one as he said, "Weird. There should only be weak Pokémon near town."
Daniel saw Alex doubting his words and said with confidence, "It is an Elite Butterfree that does not attack people and lives a little deeper into the forest. After I got stronger, I went deeper and deeper into the forest to explore, and I found this Butterfree three times in the same place."

Alex, who wondered if there was a trap, felt that it was almost impossible. Only people who are really strong would dare to build a trap deep in the forest surrounded by powerful Pokémon.
"Ok, show the way," said Alex as he put his Ditto mask back on.
He also said via [Telepathy] that Crobat should stay close to Daniel and Gardevoir should remain close to him. Even if he thinks it wasn't a trap, Alex always likes to be on the safe side.
Daniel, Alex, and all the Pokémon in this room left the apartment to go deeper part of the forest to find this Butterfree.
After less than 30 minutes, Alex found two Butterfree sitting alone in a flower meadow.
Alex looked at the two Pokémon's info and showed a slightly happy expression.

The other Pokémon, a level 32 Deep Silver Butterfree, was good too.
Alex looked at Daniel and said with a smile, "I'll do it alone. As soon as I'm done and have tested the potential, I'll give you your share."
Daniel didn't show reluctance and said, "Yes, Boss."
Alex showed a satisfied expression when he said, "I'm very happy with your attitude, so I'll show you a place where you can train undisturbed. Also, if one of those Pokémon is an S-rank Pokémon, I'll give you 50% of the profit."
Daniel was stunned hearing this. He didn't expect Alex to be so generous. Even though he had led Alex to this Pokémon, he didn't think he would get much. His estimate was a maximum of 20 or 30% share.
Alex saw Daniel's expression and smiled as he said, "I'm a generous boss. As long as you're useful, I won't skimp on rewards."
Daniel was beginning to understand Alex a little more. He appears to be very generous to useful people. But Daniel understood that he would only get good rewards when he is useful.
He stepped back and stood with a tree as a backing, waiting for Alex to come back while staying alert for any situation
Daniel wasn't afraid that Alex would cheat on him for a little bit of money after giving him such a generous share.

Yora Chronicles
[Arc 0 - The Prologue] Airen and Yuelei Casteya - Two twins separated in act of revenge not of their own doing. One is sent to the frozen north, where she is adopted by a frost phoenix and taught to survive in the harshest of conditions, eventually meeting with the forces that govern nature itself. The other is sent to the southern deserts and is saved by a band of slaves-turned-raiders who take him in as one of their own, where he eventually came into contact with a being that calls herself the History Eater. The two sought power and the forces of the world would soon listen, but not without their own aspirations. And perhaps if the two were to meet again, they would be so warped by their own hands and would not even recognize the other. [Arc 1 - Disciple of the History Eater & Knighthood] Under the guidance of Fieluri, the whimsical being from the Archive, Airen moves south to the Red Slate Republic to attend Stonewall Military Academy. There, he finds himself wrapped up in the History Eater's ploys, and at the same time, learns of the somber side of society in the slave-driven republic. Eventually, under Fieluri's instruction, he descends into the depths of dungeons where he eventually reunites with an old acquaintance. Yuelei, who has grown used to living in the snowy mountains, moves north to the Holy Land of Ecclisa to attend the Royal Knight Academy. After Lin leaves, she slowly adapts to living with humans again, but not without ceaseless caution. The thinly-veiled peace is eventually broken, for the monsters that haunted the nights in the Whitefrost Mountains are returning once more. In response, the Holy Land of Ecclisa slowly prepare for war, but Yuelei is not just a mere bystander. All paths eventually leads to conflict. When it arrives, one can choose to deter it away, or to revel in it. Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
