Chasing After My Wife Chapter 547

Jade was lying on the couch. She raised her left leg, put it down, raised her right leg and put it down. She did it a couple of times while waiting for Brown to finish calling Valkyrie. He had been calling him for almost two hours now and their game was put on hold because of that.
"When will their call end?" Jade mumbled with a sigh.
"Don't expect it to end soon." Savannah answered her question as she placed a slice of cake in front of the little girl. "They must have missed each other so much."
"How about you, Auntie Savy? Don't you miss Uncle Schniezel?"
"Of course, I miss him."
"Why didn't I hear you call him for almost two hours? Did you ever call him?" Jade questioned innocently. She was just wondering why since she never really noticed Savannah talking to Hawk.
Savannah blinked her eyes and laughed awkwardly. She didn't call him but they would always text each other into the late hours of night. Brown can call Valkyrie whenever he wanted since Valkyrie was staying at the hospital. However, Savannah couldn't do it with Hawk. He was still busy dealing with the aftermath of the mission. There were just so many things to do and she didn't want to disturb him.
"He is a little busy so, I just sent him messages to know how she was doing."
"Isn't that boring? My Mommy and Daddy couldn't last a day without talking to each other."
"Your parents are example of people who are madly in love with each other."
"Is it bad? Being madly in love, is it bad?"
"I don't think so but, some people weren't like them."
"Why not? I can see my parents are happy being madly in love with each other. How about you become madly in love with Uncle Schniezel, too?"

Savannah pinched the little girl's face and kissed the tip of her nose. "Why are we even having this conversation? You are still so young to have this conversation with adults."
"Isn't this better? The earlier I know about things, the earlier I can guard my heart from pain."
"You have a point." Savannah nodded her head in understanding. "At the same time, you don't really need this knowledge for now. Maybe after ten years, we can have this conversation again."
"Why are you talking about love?" Brown questioned after his call ended and heard about Jade and Savannah's conversation. "Do you have someone you like?"
Jade blushed and averted her eyes from them. "I'm sleepy now. Let's stop playing and go to sleep now."
"Did you just avoid my question?" Brown asked again and threw a playful look towards Savannah.
"Oh my gosh! Jade, you like someone?" Savannah added, the two of them thought of teasing her tonight.
"Who said I like someone? I will only like someone who's very much alike my father."
"Oh! I know someone who's very much alike with Travis." Brown commented to see how she would react but Jade remained unmoving. She would never say anything to them.
"Is it Ethan? When I look at him for the first time, I thought he was like Travis. Don't you think so, Brown?" Savannah chided as well.
"Oh! Right! I think so, too." Brown added with a sly smile.
Jade turned her face to see them and rolled her eyes. "You can stop making assumptions, alright. I am still young and I don't even understand what you were talking about."
Brown and Savannah laughed together upon seeing her cute reaction. It was the first time they got to tease her and they were clearly having fun. "Fine. We'll stop teasing you now." Savannah stood up to leave. "If ever you fall in love with Ethan, I'd be laughing with your answer today."

"Stop it! I'm not going to fall in love with him! Never!" Jade yelled and threw the pillow towards Savannah who caught it and laugh at her.
Brown also gave her a wink before keeping the things on the table. Jade just pouted her lips and ate the cake that Savannah gave her. She just said that she wanted to sleep but she wasn't really sleepy at all. She still wanted to play but the two adults with her were just teasing her.
"There's no way I'd fall in love with Ethan. I will only look up to my father and not anyone else." Jade mumbled while stuffing her mouth with the cake.
"Don't talk like you are so sure of the future." Brown reminded her but Jade just rolled her eyes. She would never expect that this conversation today will measure her determination in the future.
"I miss my parents." Jade mumbled. "They won't bully me like this."
Brown laughed again and his worry about Valkyrie's situation had completely disappear. "We will all be going home tomorrow and your parents will be home as well. Make sure to sleep early so you can wake up early as well."
"I'm so excited to see them." Jade responded.
"Me, too. I'm so happy that they're coming home."
"I know why you're happy." Jade stated with a teasing smile.
"Why?"
"Because we are all going home and you can finally go to Uncle Matt."
"I never said that."
"I know. I know. You didn't say it but that's how I look at it."
Brown was speechless and he could only shake his head several times. "Are you excited going to school?"
"Of course. I am looking forward to it."
"I know why you are looking forward to it."
"Why?" Jade was the one who was asking this time.
"Because you will be able to go to the same school as Ethan and spend time with him."
Jade's smile disappears and she jumped down on him. She opened her mouth widely and bit him. "Ahw! Ouch! I won't do it. I'll stop teasing you." Brown shouted while holding Jade on his back to make sure that she won't fall. He wasn't like Hawk or Valkyrie who got muscles so, her bite still hurt a little bit. "Sorry. Sorry."
Jade stopped biting and scornfully looked at him. "I'll ask Uncle Matt to punish you for bullying me."
"No! Don't! I promise to never tease you. Just don't say anything to him."
"Hmp! Too late." Jade got off from him and walked away with a victorious smile.
