Chasing After My Wife Chapter 546

There life in Bali revolved around a tour and exploration in the afternoon, a love making session at night and sleeping in the whole morning. This cycle kept on until the sixth day of their trip. Jillyanna was packing her things and was arranging her other stuff to make sure that she won't forget anything tomorrow once they leave.
"We can't do it tonight. We have to leave tomorrow afternoon. I don't want to miss our flight." Jillyanna stated while placing her shorts inside the suitcase.
"Can we do a round?"
"No."
"But I haven't seen you wear the nurse uniform."
"I can do it for you at home."
"Promise?"
Jillyanna looked at him and grinned. "No. I was just joking. There's no way I'd do that."
"Why not? It's not like you'll be showing that in front of anyone else. You will only be showing that in front of me."
"That's what I'm worried about. I'm showing it in front of my shameless husband."
Travis laughed and hugged her from behind. "I was just teasing you. Let's just take a rest tonight so we can leave early tomorrow."
Jillyanna placed her hands on his and smiled. "I like the time we have spent here. I hope we can have this again some other time."
"I wish the same." Travis mumbled and kissed the side of her neck.
"Hephep! Don't kiss me there."
"A kiss is not allowed, too?"
"Your kisses are brought danger to me. I don't want to lose my mind."
"I'm glad to know I have that effect on you."
"You just know that now?"
"I knew it long ago which was why I like doing it to you."
Jillyanna laughed and swatted his hands away from her. "Come on. Let's stop this and continue to pack. You can hold me all you want after."

The two of them packed their things. Since Jillyanna had fewer things in the first place, she finished packing her things and turned to help him with his things.
With the two of them working together, they finished packing their things in an hour. It was already six in the evening and Travis asked someone from the hotel service to set up a candle lit dinner for them at the beach. It was their last night there in Bali and he wanted to make it special for her.
"Where are we having dinner?" she asked her husband who was still sitting on their bed, watching a movie on the television.
"Our dinner will be ready in a while. Just let me finish the movie. It's almost done."
"Okay." Jillyanna went to the balcony and watched the city lights in front of her. The sea breeze blew and she like the coldness that touched her face.
Travis watched her back and he smiled. He stood up from their bed and walked towards her. "Let's go down and have dinner."
"The movie's done?"
"Hn." Travis held her hand and the two of them walked out of their room.
"Where are we eating tonight?"
"At the beach."
"Really?"
"Yup."
"Did you ask someone to set up our dinner?"
"Yup. I want to make our dinner extra special since this will be our last night."
"Thank you." Jillyanna tightened her hold on him and she leaned closer to him. "I'm so happy that I gave us a chance to work things out. I'm probably regretting it if I didn't."
"If you didn't give us a chance, we'll probably end up being single forever."
"Probably. Or I might have died a long time ago. I realized that I was really selfish before. It wasn't until recently that I realized, I was only thinking for myself but not the baby. I was thinking it would be great to become a mother but I didn't take into consideration that I could die any moment, leaving the baby alone. I didn't even think of having a heart transplant."

"Why are you saying all of this now?"
"Nothing. I just realized so many things in this past few days that we're here. I realized that I wouldn't have this happy life if it wasn't because of you. You changed my view in life."
"That being said, don't I deserve some sort of reward?"
"What is it that you want?"
"Let me think about." Travis responded with a grin on his face.
"Seeing that sly grin, I think you are up to something naughty again. I can do anything but no love making. I want to rest for a while."
"I'm not up to something naughty. I'm thinking of some serious matter."
"Well, I'd like to hear about that serious matter later."
Travis nodded his head and wrapped his hand on her waist. The two of them got inside the elevator, so sweet that the other guests were envious of them.
Jillyanna liked Italian cuisine so, Travis asked the hotel manager for a favor. He paid a little bigger but he didn't care about it as long as his wife enjoys their night. All he wanted to see was the smile on her face. The location of their date was at the beach which was not far from the hotel. There was a huge heart made of small lights and there were flower petals scattered around the place. The wind helped them scatter the flower petals as well.
The wind wasn't strong so the candles weren't put out. They used a scented candle which made the atmosphere even more romantic. The table and chairs were set in the center of the huge heart and there was a violinist at the side.
"You really put so much thought on this." Jillyanna commented when she saw the set up in front of her.
"It's for my wife. Of course, I'd make sure to give it so much thought." Travis led her to her chair and pulled it for her. "For you." Travis gave her a bouquet of flowers, treating it like a very special date even though they've been together every single day. "I love you Mrs. Madrigal."
Instead of sitting on her chair, Jillyanna stood up and hugged him. "I love you too, Mr. Madrigal."

NOVA INTERIT.US
It's 2063, and the town along with much of the nation are in disarray. The decay started years before the Great Event. Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. This Royal Road posting is basically a beta test with chapters and drafts to get some feedback and see if there's any readership for this narrative. For the full experience read Nova on Substack. I will be narrating a podcast version later this year there. https://novainteritus.substack.com/

A Portal Fantasy Comedy Poem
Mix an adolescent shepherd boy in love with a girl who wants to meet existentialists, a Viscount in need of an adventure, and a bland psychic. Add in a flippant god. Put them in a land made up of the after-lives of various different cultures. Stir gently. Sprinkle in some random Midgard Serpent, Genghis Khan, Scheherazade, and a cussing mocking bird. Fry lightly. Season to taste and serve with desired garnishes. Bon apetit! A comic fantasy poetic epic, filled with misfits, slapstick routines, light romance, people shouting out the names of their battle skills before using them, old philosopher dudes running around naked, a very serious lamb, demonic knitting, battery operated magic swords and even more traumatising stuff! I experimented with different styles in the beginning and finally settled on an ABABBCBC rhyme scheme (Give me your 0.5s. Gimme, gimme, gimme. I'm collecting them, seriously)

Devil's Basement: Colony Ragnarok
Far beneath the surface of a planet wrapped in a toxic atmosphere, competing political ideologies stare each other down over a heavily militarised line that cuts through the city on their border. Among the dark rail tunnels and mine shafts are an unfinished treaty up for negotiation; a fanatical terrorist group with questionable backers; and ordinary people caught in the middle. In this claustrophobic environment, those who desire peace must act quickly or these tunnels will collapse in the fires of war. _____ This story is based on a role-playing map game I GM'd awhile ago. The four main characters are based on the four players from that map game, and the general sequence of events follows the game as well. Cover art: inncect (formerly astrxphoria) from wattpad.com, where this story was first published.
