Chasing After My Wife Chapter 529

It hasn't been long after he contacted Shein when Brown received a message from Hawk. "He's injured and we're sending him to Dr. Anderson. Don't worry, we will make sure that he's alright. Take care of everyone and the kids."
A sigh of relief escaped his lips after getting the information. It was better than receiving a news of Valkyrie's death. He sent a message to Dr. Anderson about Valkyrie and asked him to keep in touch regarding Valkyrie's condition. Jade saw that her uncle had a calm expression and she also smiled.
"I guess Uncle Valkyrie is alright now." She mumbled which made Brown smile at her. They weren't completely out of danger yet. There were many enemies this time and they soldiers just managed to get rid of the leader but, its tentacles had reached to different corners of the country already. "Until when are we going too stay here?" Jade asked softly.
"Until your parents are back." Savannah responded when she heard her question. "Don't worry. Everyone will be safe and everything will be okay. Let's just trust the soldiers to do their job."
Jade nodded her head and looked outside the window. The sky was clear and there were many people having fun at the beach not far from where they're staying. "I'm hungry." She murmured to change their topic. She realized that it wasn't good to talk about depressing matter. It will only make things worse and make you feel anxious.
Savannah took Jade's hand and they went to the kitchen. The hotel room that they had were like a huge house with a living room and dining room in one room. They were occupying two floors of the hotel and there were several guards and soldiers looking out for their safety.

"What do you want to eat? I'll cook it for you."
"Thank you, Auntie Savy. I'm fine with anything that you'll make."
Jenny, Jade and Savannah were staying in one room and Brown just came to visit and play with the little girl. Jenny still needed to go to school so she was accompanied by several soldiers who dressed like civilians and students. Jenny didn't want anyone to know about her relationship with Jillyanna and Travis. She didn't want anyone to take advantage of her because of her connection with them.
Sky and Alex were taking care of Raizel and from time to time, Jade would come to check on them. They were staying next doors, so it wasn't a problem. Sometimes, they would bring them snacks and sometimes, it was Sky who would visit Jade in their room. Jackie and Riley were staying in the same room. For safety precaution, Wynwyn, postponed all her scheduled activities and informed the investors that she was sick and needed to recuperate.
Riley cooperated with her excuse and hid herself away from the public. She didn't even get out from the hotel to enjoy the beach. Her life, everyone's life, was more important than having fun at the beach. Jackie was having a final exam before she can formally enroll herself to the Police Academy. She was confident in her skills so she didn't ask for anyone to come and guard her. Nonetheless, Vincent pulled some strings for her safety. He asked several people to guard her which made Jackie felt a little warm in her heart. Even though he did it secretly, she was still able to find out the truth.
Shein had to go to work to make sure that someone was looking after the Empire that his brother-in-law and sister worked so hard for. He didn't really have to do much at the company so, he was able to help Tristan and the soldiers with his hacking skills. He was relaying information while attending to the needs of the employees in the company. After few hours, piles of papers were towering on his desk. They were project proposal, finance report, documents that needed to be signed and other things. He had to sort them out later before giving it to Travis. Good thing, Savannah was staying back at the hotel and he can ask for her help.

One after another, man and woman, they were slowly marked with X in the tracker that the soldiers had, which means that they were either captured or killed. When they first received the lists, they were quite shocked to see that there were thousands of people involved with Dragon Gang. This mission was like a way of sweeping the society from all the evil people.
From thousands to hundreds, they were getting smaller in numbers. After all, they were caught by surprise and they didn't receive help from the higher ups as well. If they wanted to survive, they'd have to do it themselves and escape. However, Calhoun was prepared for escapees. He had asked several soldiers to be stationed to different airports and piers. Security personnel of the said places were very cooperative when they found out what was happening. Their employees were even screened to make sure that none of them were part of the lists that were sent to them.
As expected, there were four employees that were part of the gang and they even informed the rest of the members to stay away from airports and piers. They won't be able to escape the place by plane or by ship.
This was the largest operation that the soldiers got so far and among all of them, Winter was the one who captured a lot of them. When her target was armed, she'd kill it. When her target was unarmed, she'd beat them to pulp before handing them to the young soldiers who were waiting for her.
"I have done it several times so, you should know how to do it. You will handle the next target. We'll do it according to your code numbers."
"Yes, ma'am!" Her soldiers salute and left with a handcuffed man. People could only watch them come and go. They will never mess with people from the military.
Lieutenant Colonel Avery was back on the field and she was very serious with her job this time. She's got no room for discussion or negotiation specially that, the Dragon Gang had been targeting her family.

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.

How will she survive in the harsh world? Author's note: I will update daily if possible and each chapter is around 2,000 words. Gores, Sexual Contents, and Traumatising Contents are limited and I try my best not to write them. However, for the progress of the story, I can't help but write some of them in the latter part of the story. However, don't expect them too much ^_^ English is not my native language, so there might be grammatical errors (maybe a lot), but I'll try to fix them, so constructive critiques will be appreciated (^_^)
