Chasing After My Wife Chapter 476

Winter heard about what happened to Jillyanna from Gabriel. She was currently in her office, writing about her progressive report when he called.
They knew that this was coming but they didn't know it would be this early. Everyone has their own time but she was still very young and the children, they needed their mother.
Winter finished her report in order to leave the military ground as soon as possible. She kept her lines open in case someone would look for her.
Calhoun asked her to give him an update to know what was happening as well. In any case, Jillyanna was already part of their family. Whether they like it or not, they would still be worried for the people who will be left behind.
Around four in the afternoon, Jade woke up with her eyes still swollen but a little bit better compared to her look in the morning. She was still hugging Jillyanna's pillow and she immediately remembered the reality of her life. Her mother was still in danger.
Instead of crying, she climbed down from the bed, waking up Sky who was able to sleep beside her as well.
"Where are you going?" Sky asked while she tried to get up from bed, too.
"I am going to take a bath and change my clothes. I will visit my mother and father."
"I see. Do you want me to bath you?"
"No grandma. I can take care of myself."
"Alright. Once you're done, just come down to eat. I'll cook something for you."
"I understood grandma." Though she was behaved and respectful, it was still odd to look at her or listen to her. Her voice lack emotions. There was no sadness, happiness, or fear. She was indifferent! And her eyes looked dull.
"Your mother will be fine." Sky mumbled before leaving her alone. She went downstairs, to the kitchen, to cook something for her empty stomach.
Shein finished his work as early as he can. The people from the company didn't know what exactly happened but they could tell that it was something dreadful. How did they figure things out?
First, Travis didn't come to work. Second, Shein didn't talk much and most of the time, he was just staying inside the CEO's office, looking gloomy and weary. His eyes looked tired and exhausted.

When Shein arrived at the hospital, there wasn't any changes. Travis was still in the same place and position as he remembered when he left. He even looked pale.
'Knock! Knock! Knock!'
Shein knocked on the glass window to call his attention. Travis raised his head, saw him faintly smiling and he stood to open the door and see him. "Work's done?"
"Hn." Shein answered. "I'm here to check on you. Bro, do you want to go to the VIP room and eat? I can watch over her for you. You look pale and gaunt."
"I'm fine." Travis waved his hand in dismissal. "Just a little tired but I can still hold up."
"But I heard that Jade will be coming over to see you and Jillyanna. She just stopped crying from what happened and if she happens to see you like this, she will be devastated."
This statement worked on Travis. He glanced at his wife before patting Shein on his shoulder. "I'll leave her to you. I'll just fix myself and get back here as soon as possible."
Not long after he left, Jade indeed arrived with Sky and Alex. The adorable child was now looking gloomy and her eye bags were still a little reddish and swollen.
"Hi, uncle." Jade greeted politely. "Can I see my mom?"
"Sure." Shein crouched low and picked her up, carrying her in his arms, he let her watch her mom through the window glass. "How are you holding up so far?"
"I am doing fine, uncle. I have to be strong for Mommy, for Daddy and for baby Raizel. So, little Jade is no longer crying."
"That's our princess." Shein kissed her left temple. "I am glad that you are doing fine. The doctors are trying their best to save your mother. We will just have to wait for her to wake up."
"What if she won't wake up?"
"That's impossible. Your mother will wake up to see you and your baby brother; and of course, your father as well."
Jade just watched her mother silently while listening to Shein. Nobody know what she was thinking but no one disturbed her as well. Either she was listening or just letting the words pass through from one ear to the other, it didn't really matter to them.

"Where's Travis?" Alex asked when he didn't see his son-in-law anywhere near Jillyanna.
"I told him to get something to eat. He looked pale and tired when I arrived." Shein informed them.
After observing her mother, Jade asked her Uncle Shein to show her where the nursery room was. She wanted to see her younger brother, the one that she had been looking forward to have.
"That baby on the left side, the one with incubator; that is your baby brother." Shein spoke and pointed his index to the sleeping baby Raizel.
"So small." Jade commented, leaning closer to the glass to watch him carefully. "He looks so red."
"That's how babies are."
"Why is he inside that small box with that light? Other babies don't have like that."
"That's because your baby brother was born prematurely. He needed to fully develop in a warm environment which is why they placed him inside the incubator."
"I understand uncle. Then, when will he come out of that incubator?"
"I think after a month."
"Then, we can bring him home?"
"Yeah. I guess so."
They say children are curious creatures and Jade was no different. When she see things that she wasn't familiar with, she would really ask someone about it. It was also because of her curiosity that she learned so many things.
While they were at the nursery ward, Winter also arrived, still wearing her official military uniform, looking fierce and strong.
"Hi Auntie. Hello Uncle." she greeted Jillyanna's parents with a smile. "How is she?"
Sky shook her head from side to side. "She has not woken up yet since her operation."
"Was the surgery not successful?"
"It was. However, they said that her vitals keeps on fluctuating. She is still under careful observation until she gains consciousness."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Winter stated. "Where's RV? Why isn't he looking after her?"
"Travis went our for a while. He had been staying here since last night. I am even wondering if he got a wink of sleep. Shein told me that he was looking pale and tired. I hope he's alright." Sky responded in worry.
The situation wasn't really positive and they couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet.
Dr. Alison was also gloomy. Unlike her other patients who only come during check up or operation, Jillyanna had been staying in the hospital. She had spent her time away from her family. She knew how much Jillyanna wanted to have a child. She wanted someone to inherit her possessions. They had been worried that there wouldn't be a heart donor who would willingly help them. Time and time again, she relapsed and was bedridden but it didn't dim the light of hope in her eyes.
If it wasn't for Lyla, they don't know where to get a heart that would match hers. Lyla was still a mystery to her. She just came out of nowhere and informed her that she wanted to donate her heart.
"What could be inside this letter?" Dr. Alison mumbled before closing her drawer. She just kept the letter that Lyla had asked her to give to Jillyanna after the operation. She didn't know what was the relationship of the two but she knew that it wasn't anything good.
With how Lyla looked towards Jillyanna, Dr. Alison could tell that she hated the woman that she wanted to save. 'So, why help her? She even gave her heart.' Dr. Alison thought but there wasn't a single soul who can answer her question.
She wasn't someone nosy, so she let go of the matter before getting the patient's charts and made her round of check up.
Around six in the evening, Travis came back with a new set of clothes. He also ate something from the hospital canteen to make sure that he won't collapse from hunger.
Jade ran towards him when she saw her father coming. Travis squat down to level their heights and hugged her. "How's our little princess?" he asked as soft as he could to her.
"I am sad." Jade answered. "But I promised Mommy that I will be strong so I stopped crying already."
"Good girl." Travis rubbed her head gently. "Did you see your brother?"
"Yes. He is so small. He..." The father-daughter pair talked for a while, distracting themselves from the pain. They talked about different things just to alleviate the painful probability of losing the person that they love.

Twoen
The struggle for an interesting game has been the story of my life for quite some time. Every game I find is either too easy, not interesting or too short. Luckily, my two brothers who match my level of skill, albeit in different areas, tend to spice things up. When I look at my older brother I have no idea how he gets anything done when he's such an idiot. Still it doesn't detract from my respect for him as a gamer, though maybe a little. When I look at my younger brother I marvel at the monster that my older brother and I created. Deadliness, craftiness and quiet, both in what he does and how he is. When it's just us three we tend to destory everything in our path. So normally we tend to compete rather than team. Although that isn't to say we're just good as individuals. When we work together our effectiveness multiplies rather than lowering. Well enough about us dorks. Anyway a new VR game came out, apparently in development for quite some time. Of course my older brother decided to drive out and buy three copies. What would this one be missing? Difficulty? Depth? Length? In any case I plan to reach the top before my brothers do. It was a competition after all. Twoen had all three things I normally yearn for in spades. Something I did not foresee. A keeper
