Chasing After My Wife Chapter 456

Savannah stiffened when she heard her real name being called. No one inside that hall would call her name unless it was from the Imperial family. Even Hawk wouldn't call her name because she hated it. She hated the fact that she was born from an Imperial family, a family that shed so much blood for a mere throne.
Maybe that was two decades ago but, in her memory, the fresh drop of blood, the screams and flames, they were all engraved in her memory. She could still clearly see the faces of her dead brothers and sisters. The tear-streaked face of her mother who tried sending her away just to keep her alive. She hated it! She hated everyone who were still alive after killing her entire family just for the crown and power.
"Taira Azumi, it is really you." Natsu mumbled happily. He just decided to give up his search not long ago but he actually found her when he least expected it.
"Taira Azumi? Isn't that the Fifth Princess, who was supposed to inherit the throne of the Japanese Empire?"
"I thought she died."
"No, it was rumored that she was lost after the chaos decades ago."
"How did she end up here?"
Murmurs about her identity spread among the guests like a wildfire. She took a deep breath and wanted to confirm their guesses when Hawk arrived. "Did you mistake my girlfriend for someone else? Her name is Savannah."
"Savannah?" Natsu asked with narrowed eyes. "Is that her new name after your parents took her in?"
"Mr. Azumi, we don't want to cause a scandal here with your family issues. If you got questions for my girlfriend, how about you talk upstairs." He knew that Savannah didn't want her real identity exposed. So, he tried to find a way.

"I have to leave though. I have more important matters than inquiries about my identity. Please excuse me." Savannah didn't let anyone stop her from leaving. "Jade, are you coming with me to your mother?"
"No, Auntie Savy. Mommy needs to rest so, I will stay here and go home with everyone later." Jade answered politely. She found that Natsu wanted to stop Savannah from leaving so she turned her little face to the man. "Handsome uncle, can you let my Auntie go? She needed to keep my parents safe while resting."
Looking at her adorable face and round puppy eyes, Natsu couldn't say no to her. He touched her head and lightly caressed her hair. "Alright. I will let your Auntie go this time but I will still come and find her after several days."
"You are very sensible, handsome uncle."
The guests couldn't help themselves but laugh at her adult-like remark. She was really smart and can perceive someone's emotion base on their facial expression, eye movements and subtle body gestures.
Natsu just watched Savannah leave the hall with Brown and Dr. Alison following her. Since she didn't have much to do, she would rather stay with Jillyanna to avoid her cousin. Natsu might not be involved with the crime of his family but, he was still the son of the person who murdered her family. She can't just forgive him that easily.
Brown was driving the car for them and he would glance at her from time to time.
"What is it?" Savannah faced him to see what he was up to. "If you have any question, just go ahead and ask me."
Brown cleared his throat and asked the question that everyone wanted to confirm. "Are you really the rumored Fifth Princess of the Japanese Empire, who got lost amidst the chaos decades ago?"

"It's the title that I abandoned after losing my family over-night."
"Then, is it true that your uncle was the one who killed your father to take over the throne?"
"I don't know. But it was his men who burned our houses and killed my brothers and sisters as well as my parents and servants."
"How did that happen? Isn't it prohibited to kill in your country?"
"That law was just made after my parents died. The country is already peaceful and I don't have plans to take back what was supposedly mine. I am happy of what I become and I know my parents wouldn't want me took revenge for them."
"So, you aren't going back?"
"Hn. I won't."
Perhaps many people would say that she abandoned her duty and that she was being irresponsible. But for Savannah, she just made the right decision. She would never be at peace knowing that her parents died for because of the throne. At the same time, she didn't want to serve the Empire while bearing grudges.
Even though they left already, the celebration continued until six in the evening. By then, the host officially ended the event after Thomas gave her the instruction. Valkyrie and Shein carried the gifts to the car in order to bring them back to Jillyanna's house. Jade came along with Riley and Jackie to go back home.
In one single day, many things happened and there were several discoveries, too. Even so, this didn't stop the people from sharing the joy with everyone. Many photos and videos were uploaded to different social media accounts of the artists and some young businesswomen. Those who weren't able to see it in person could only watch from the short videos that got uploaded.
"Oh! Our perfect couple got a lovely daughter."
"Oh my gosh! Jillyanna is actually the sole heiress of Xavier's Shoe Company and Factory!" They didn't know that Jillyanna actually sold her shares to Travis.
"They even have connection to the one and only Prince of Japan."
"Another heavy news! The Fifth princess is still alive?! Well, it wasn't confirmed yet."
"The gown of our goddess YNA is just amazing! It was even matched with her daughter's dress!"
"This is the wedding of the year! What a grandiose event!"
"This really costs a fortune! The gown alone looks very very very expensive. (Important matter must be said thrice)."
"This is the grandest wedding I've seen so far"
"The wedding of the year indeed."
Thus, after several hours, the hashtag wedding of the year became the number one tag in social media which showed the Madrigal's grandiose wedding.

And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.

I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
