Chasing After My Wife Chapter 418

After lunch, Winter brought the woman to the hacienda. It wouldn't be right to let her stay in Jillyanna's house when she wasn't around to accommodate her. Therefore, she left everything to Winter's capable hand.
Instead of taking a tour to let her enjoy the city, Winter and her teacher spent their afternoon looking for a suitable place for the skills tests which will be done the next day.
Winter searched for different venues through different websites but she couldn't find anything that they can use.
"How about I ask uncle Calhoun to let us use the military training camp?" Winter suggested since she was running out of ideas.
There wasn't any place where they can do all sorts of combat activities and the only place she could think of was the military training camp.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Gabriel who had been watching the two woman commented. "New trainees will use the place. I don't think he will allow it."
"He will." Winter spoke with determination. She had something in mind and she knew that Calhoun won't say no to her. "Let me give him a call."
She pulled out her phone and went our for a while to talk to Major General Calhoun. "Hi uncle."
"Winter?! You can hear now?!" Calhoun stood up from his seat due to the surprise he got.
"I am doing fine now and I am planning to make a report on Monday."
"That's good to know. I am glad that you are doing good. I felt so horrible after what happened to you and Gabriel." Calhoun sounded regretful and Winter grasped this moment to make a request.
"That's alright uncle. However, we are having a little problem here. You must have heard about what happened in the hospital, right?"

"Hn. I did hear that Travis was betrayed by his men."
"I felt a little bad for Travis that he found incompetent and idiot men. Following this issue, we would like to conduct a skills tests for his remaining people. We would like to know them better for the safety of everyone. Can you let us use the training camp?"
Calhoun was silent for a while when he heard her request. It would be a little difficult since his men would be using the camp as well.
"While we're at it, I can be a sparring partner of your new recruits, too." Winter added which made Calhoun smile.
"That's a deal." he responded without any hesitations left.
It was rare to make her agree in becoming a sparring partner. She hated it when she fought with weak soldiers which was she would rather take difficult missions than to train men.
"Thanks uncle. We'll be coming tomorrow morning." Winter ended the call and went back to the living room where her teacher and Gabriel were waiting. "We can use it."
"How did you make him agree?" Gabriel asked in curiosity.
"By becoming a sparring partner for the new recruits."
"Oh! Poor men! They would be struggling with their lives tomorrow." Gabriel commented as if their lives were already on the line.
"Tsk! I won't beat them to death." Winter retorted before turning towards her teacher. "Teacher, I will ask everyone to gather tomorrow morning. You can take a rest for now. I'll call you once dinner is ready."
"Thanks Winter." the woman gave Gabriel another look before leaving.
Winter didn't notice the tense atmosphere between her teacher and Gabriel. She kept her things away and pushed Gabriel's wheelchair back to his room.

"Are you fine with me being disabled?" Gabriel asked out of nowhere making her frown and raised her eyebrow.
"What's with this question? I don't care if you are disabled. Just stay beside me and I will be complete."
"I will be a burden to you."
"Whether you are a burden or not, is for me to decide. Just don't leave me, okay?"
"Hn. I won't leave you even if you will push me away." Gabriel responded with relief. He didn't care about what will people say. He will only care about what Winter will say and no one else.
"Would you like to come with us to the skills tests tomorrow?" Winter asked him while she placed her things on top of his bedside drawer.
Ever since they settled their issue, she was staying on his room most of the time. She had been sleeping there for quite sometimes already and she would only go back to her room to wash up or change her clothes.
"I don't want to. It will be too hot." Gabriel refused immediately. "I'll monitor you from here instead. I'll ask Shein to get me a camera footage of you."
"Sounds fine."
The two of them talked for a long time while waiting for dinner. Thomas was still out in the hacienda, talking to the farmers about the farm.
Meanwhile, when Lyla refused to meet with Ryden after what happened to Hans. She transferred all her money to her parents and her brother.
She only saved few thousands on her account for daily expenses. She sold her apartment and her other expensive things as well to save money and left the place.
She wanted to do something good while she can. She changed her phone number and kept one single contact which was Dr. Alison.
"Sir, I heard that Lyla sold her apartment and her things." a man reported to Ryden who was currently doing someone.
He didn't care even when his men would find him doing someone. He didn't care even when they knew that he was taking women from left and right. In fact, he was very proud of it. Lyla was just one of his pawns.
"Let her be. She must have cowered from fear." Ryden waved his hand in dismissal as he continued to pound himself inside the woman beneath him.
The man left and closed the door behind him, letting his young master do whatever he wanted to do with the woman they got from a club.

Re:Mento Mori
When Ryuji, a disgruntled salaryman, is supposed to reach an unfortunate end, he is instead thrust into a new world, inhabiting a body that isn't his own. Forced into a world filled with strife and death, can he claim freedom and happiness? Or will his turbulent new life only lead to suffering and pain? As with every time-loop story written by an amateur author, this is heavily inspired by Re:Zero. If I had to explain my book, I would say imagine Re:Zero, but the main character can actually fight people instead of just getting merked every time he meets someone with a weapon. The themes of this story are dark, so be forewarned. This is my first story so keep that in mind while reading it.
