Chasing After My Wife Chapter 384

"Nope. He didn't mention her name to me." Jillyanna answered quickly. "If he can't find her, he would be crowned as the next Emperor. Do you think his cousin will come back and claim it?"
"I don't think so. If she wanted to, she had so many times in the past years to do it. Perhaps, she was no longer interested in it."
"You are right." Jillyanna placed the vase on the table when she finished arranging the flowers. "By the way, Cheska told me that we should get our suits and gown fitted. It was almost done but they needed to adjust the size due to my pregnancy."
"When do you want to go?" Travis asked her. He would depend on her when it comes to these things since it would be very tiring to her. He wanted her to do these things whenever she's comfortable.
"How about the day after tomorrow? It would be Sunday so you don't have to work. At the same time, tomorrow, we'd have to go shopping so we can't see the dressmaker."
"Whatever you think is fine, I'll go with it." Travis mumbled with his nasal tone.
"Is your cold getting worse?"
"Nope. I'm getting better."
They talked about their plans for the next two days to make it productive instead of being bored inside the hospital room.
Before lunch, Dr. Alison came to check on her to make sure that she'd be fine to go out on the next day. "Whenever you feel tired, just find a place to sit and relax yourself. Walking for a long period of time would be a little taxing to you since your baby is becoming bigger and your tummy will be heavier. As much as possible, take a break between your shopping time."

"Understood doc. I'll make sure to take care of myself." Jillyanna smiled happily since she would be able to go out. She had been looking forward to this day.
"If you guys need anything or if you have question, just come and find me in my office room." Dr. Alison reminded them before leaving with the clipboard that contained her status report.
Travis just smiled to the doctor and gave a light bow. He didn't want to speak because Jillyanna would know that his cold was getting worse. He was even feeling a little dizzy.
Jillyanna had been observing him since earlier and she knew that he was lying to her about his condition.
"Come here." she beckoned him to come closer with her index finger. Seeing his hesitation to come close, Jillyanna frowned and crossed her arms over her chest. "Are you coming over or would you like me to come to you?"
Left with no choice, Travis approached her and sat on the chair beside her bed. Jillyanna didn't say anything but she reached out her hand, holding the back of his neck and pressed their forehead. "You are having a light fever."
Travis avoided her gaze with a flushed face. "I'm fine." he stated while looking on a different direction.
Jillyanna just rolled her eyes knowing how stubborn he can be. "Go and drink your medicine again and sleep with me. We'll both take a rest this afternoon."
"We haven't eaten our lunch yet." Travis was worried for her that she'd get hungry.
"We ate a lot this morning. There are many snacks on the table, too. I am not hungry now so let's take a rest."
Travis obeyed her immediately. He drank his medicine for cold and fever before going to his make-shift bed where Jillyanna was waiting for him. "You don't have to sleep with me. I don't want you to catch my cold."

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me." She slid under the blanket and wrapped her hand on his waist. Travis returned her hug and cuddled her in his arms, both feeling the warmth that they emitted.
While they were cuddling warmly, back at the hacienda, Winter was jumping up and down from happiness.
It's been over a month since she started reading lips movement with Gabriel. Whenever someone spoke to her, she would be able to understand without hearing them.
However, there were times that she wanted to hear Gabriel talk. She wanted to listen to his voice even if it would mean that they'd end their precious moments together.
Thus, her answer was finally answered. She was able to hear! She can finally hear! And to check it, she went to different places just to hear the noise.
'Wait a minute. If I won't tell Gabriel that I can hear him now, I'd still be able to spend time with him, right?' Winter thought with a frown. 'That would mean that I will lie to him.' she mentally added which upsets her.
She was happily jumping moments ago but now, she was like a deflated balloon. "Reality can be so cruel." she murmured to herself as she sat on a kitchen stool, watching their helpers cooking their lunch.
Gabriel went out from his room and saw her sulking at the kitchen table. He maneuvered his wheelchair to approach her silently.
"What are you thinking?" Gabriel asked which Winter clearly heard. Instead of answering him, she pretended not to hear or didn't read his lip movements.
Gabriel took out his phone and type the same question that he asker few seconds ago. This time, Winter smiled with an answer. "I want to see Jillyanna and Travis."
"Do you want to visit them with me?" Gabriel asked her.
"No. I don't want to disturb them and become inconvenient. It would be difficult to talk to me."
"You are not an inconvenience. I am sure, they would be happy to see that you are making a progress, too."
"I guess you are right. Let's visit them before dinner. I'll give Jillyanna a call later." Winter answered him. "I'll go back to my room for now. I'll get back when lunch is ready."
In fact, she just wanted to avoid him. If she stayed any longer, she might gave herself away and Gabriel would know that she was lying. She didn't want him to know. Not now. Not yet.

I'll be posting chapters from that one in the coming months (with any luck).
