Chasing After My Wife Chapter 381

It was the first time that Shein neglected Riley's whereabout due to his anger at her. He didn't check where she went to and he didn't call her either.
He was confident that Riley will be safe without him worrying about her. He knew that Riley was tough. Now, he was finally worried because she wasn't home yet and it was almost midnight. She was even at the police station which was really odd.
He was debating between going out to fetch her or to wait for her at home. After few minutes, he picked up his coat and went out. Just as he was entering his car, the tracking on Riley's phone moved and was on her way back home.
Shein went inside and decided to wait for her instead of going out or going to sleep. He turned off the lights in the living room and sat on the couch while waiting for her.
Inside Lucian's car, Riley was silent while looking outside the window. "Can you keep quiet about what happened today? I don't want anyone to worry about me. At the same time, I am perfectly fine so it isn't really a big deal." Riley told Lucian who was driving towards Jillyanna's home.
"Alright. I'll help you keep this thing a secret but if in any case Jillyanna would ask me, I'll tell her honestly. If she won't, I won't say a thing either." Lucian agreed because he didn't want Jillyanna to worry as well.
After that, the two of them remained silent until they arrived at Jillyanna's house. "Thank you for sending me home big brother Lucian. Take care." Riley went out of the car and waved her hand at him.
The house was quiet and only the porch light was on, illuminating the garden. Riley sat on the porch and looked at the dark sky dotted with stars. "I hate this day. I hate it so much." she couldn't help herself and mumbled these words angrily.

In the morning, she doubted Shein leading to the misunderstanding between them. She apologized but she didn't earn his forgiveness. When she visited Jillyanna whom she viewed as her pillar of support, she was sleeping so she only talked with Travis. When she visited her twin, she was busy with her studies and she didn't want to disturb her. And she got into fight with several men in the evening which delayed her time to come home.
Riley pulled her knees close to her and placed her chin on her knee cap. "What a stressful day." she commented. She sat on the porch for a few minutes but Shein didn't go out to see her at all. He didn't know what he would say to her.
After almost ten minutes, Riley stood up and opened the door to the house. She turned on the light in the living room and was startled to see Shein looking at her.
"Hi." Riley smiled faintly and walked past him to the kitchen. She was really thirsty.
Shein was still sitting on the couch with a pale face because he thought he saw a ghost earlier which made him stiffened on his seat.
Riley didn't wait for him to respond or say something. She walked upstairs to her room so that she could change her clothes immediately.
She was about to close her door when Shein stuck his foot and stopped her from closing it. "Do you need something?" she asked without the intention of inviting him in but Shein went inside her room anyway.
"What happened?" he asked her back while looking at her up and down. There was a stain of blood on her right cheek. Her clothes were stained with blood and even her bag had blood on it. She looked so messy and scary at the same time.
Riley tore several tissue papers and placed it on top of her vanity mirror before putting her bag on top of it. "Nothing much. Just a minor fight." she answered in nonchalance. "If there's nothing else, you can leave."

She took her bathrobe and went inside her shower room before taking her clothes off. She looked at her back and saw two bruises being reflected on the mirror. "Sigh. It would take several days before these will fade." Riley murmured before standing under the shower head.
She cleaned her body thoroughly, making sure that the blood stains were wiped clean. She took almost half an hour inside the shower and she felt so upset whenever she sees the bruises.
When she came out of the shower, she thought that Shein already left but he was actually lying down on her bed.
"Why are you still here? Do you have something else to say?" Riley asked while looking for a change of clothes.
"I'm sorry." Shein mumbled while watching her back. "I'm sorry for not talking to you properly. I'm sorry for letting you wander in town without tracking where you go. I'm sorry for neglecting you. I'm sorry for letting you feel guilty when it was me who did something wrong."
"Okay, I forgive you. Can you go out now and let me sleep?"
"I won't go. You are not really forgiving me, are you?"
"What else should I do then? I'm just really tired and sleepy. Let's talk again tomorrow." Riley murmured and went back the bathroom so that she can change. If it was like their normal days, she would just change her clothes in front of him but tonight, she didn't want to show him her back.
Riley changed her clothes immediately and went out only to find her boyfriend sleeping on her bed. She didn't bother him anymore and went to her vanity mirror to get her phone from her purse. She set an alarm and put it on her bedside drawer.
Shein wasn't really sleeping. He was just pretending to sleep while actually trying to sense what she was doing. The other side of the bed sank which means to say that she was finally going to sleep.
He opened his eyes to peek at her and found Riley sleeping under a different quilt. For the first time since they were together, they were sleeping with two different quilts!
'I must have gone too far.' Shein thought sadly. 'If I talked to her properly, she wouldn't have gone out and got involved in a fight. I even neglected her for the whole day.'
He removed his blanket from his body and slid under Riley's blanket. He even pulled her closer to feel her warmth. When his hand touched her back, Riley frowned with her eyes closed.
"Stop moving around. I'm really tired today and please don't touch my back." she murmured while snuggling close to him.
Shein picked up her phone since he knew the password and opened the camera. He pulled the back of her clothes and took a picture of her back. He knew something was wrong when she frowned.
"Just as I thought." Shein mumbled while looking at the two bruises that he was able to capture. "I'm really sorry." he kissed the top of her head and hugged her to sleep. "I'll make sure to get back at them for you. I'm really sorry."
Riley didn't say anything because she couldn't process what he was saying. She was really sleepy and the alcohol was messing up her mind as well. She only wrapped her hand around his waist and sleep comfortably.

Dimensional Originator
Adam is having a terrible time. To start the day off he died in a car accident. And that isn't even the most painful thing that happened to him. That would be merging with a strange crystal. After that he ended up stuck in an endless black void. He does eventually get rescued. But quickly realizes his soul has been put in the body of a fallen noble and his fate is to be little more than a breeding slave for the cultivation clan that purchased him. To top it all off his new body had been bedridden for weeks and he can barely get out of bed. Not everything is terrible though. The crystal he merged with is called a dimensional originator. Using life and death energy he can create miniature universes. Given enough energy and time he could even create an entire universe. For a moment Adam thought things were looking up. Too bad the author finds things going horribly wrong far more entertaining. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it as somewhere between PG-13 and R for violence, gore, and nudity.

He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He nods to my door and I play with my fingers, "Yeah.. I do.." I feel his eyes watch me and I quickly stop. "You live with your boyfriend or do you like sweatshirts that reach your knees?" He teased, making a giggle slip past my lips. I look away to the floor again, "I-I like big shirts... a lot." I mumble softly and he nods his head, "Hol' up." He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out. You should put it on." ____________________________She was a shy girl from the city with no spine and a list of problems so long that it could touch the floor and roll off her shoes.
