Chasing After My Wife Chapter 336

Around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Winter and Jillyanna finished baking lots of cookies. They wanted to bring some juice as well but they realized that there were more fruits in the hacienda compared to the ones they have inside the refrigerator.
"Would you like to take the car, Miss Jillyanna? Travis would be worried if you walk from here to the hacienda." Uncle Wesley mentioned once they were all ready to go.
"Okay. Let's take the car then." Jillyanna agreed since she didn't want to put anyone in difficult spots.
Wesley helped Gabriel first and placed his wheelchair at the back of the car. Since he was seating at the back seat, Winter sat at the front seat to avoid, leaving Jillyanna with no other choice but to sit beside him.
"She's still a bit mad. Just understand her, okay?" Jillyanna whispered to Gabriel who just smiled faintly.
The farm of the hacienda wasn't very far from the mansion. They didn't even take ten minutes before they arrived.
Thomas was with the farmers, sitting under the huge mango tree where the Jillyanna's swing was tied. Some children where playing on the swing and some were running around cheerfully, chasing one after another.
Whenever Thomas wasn't at home, he would be either in the cemetery visiting Venus and Elizabeth or at the farm talking to the farmers.
"Oh! You guys are here." Thomas happily waved his hand at them. "Bored at home?"
"Kind of." Gabriel answered while nodding to everyone in greeting. "They wanted to come here so I'm tagging along."
"That's good. Don't stay in your room all the time it's boring."
Winter was unhappily pushing his wheelchair since Uncle Wesley had to carry the containers with the cookies. She can't let Jillyanna push the wheelchair or carry the containers. She can't carry the containers as well because she has no sense of balance now. In the end, she was left with Gabriel.

Jillyanna received a text message and showed it to her and Gabriel. It was about Calhoun who's coming over tomorrow with Dr. Anderson to check both of them.
'Oh? Speaking of Dr. Anderson, someone's still not ready to see him right?' Jillyanna's mischief showed on her eyes again. It's been a long time since she teased Brown, thought that long time wasn't even two weeks ago.
They will be coming in the morning to make sure that all tests will be conducted thoroughly so Jillyanna contacted Brown and told him to come over tomorrow with Valkyrie and Shein.
"What are you grinning about?" Winter asked Jillyanna since she was happily typing on her phone.
"I want to surprise someone." Jillyanna answered. It took her a minute to realize that Winter didn't hear her so she typed her answer on the phone.
Everyone was busy eating and Auntie Vergie even made an orange juice for them on the spot. There were so many oranges in the farm.
"Who made these? These are really delicious." One of the farmers stated while taking another bite of cookies.
"It isn't too sweet, just enough to make you crave."
"I want more." The kids were so happy and they were obviously enjoying the cookies.
"Winter made them." Jillyanna answered happily and typed their comments for Winter to see.
Thomas already informed everyone so that they won't make any careless remark around Gabriel and Winter, though Winter won't hear it, he still wanted everyone to be sensitive with the situation.
Winter was so happy that they liked her cookies and thanked them sweetly. She didn't care about being the one to push the wheelchair of Gabriel anymore.
"Where do you want to go?" Winter asked Gabriel which surprised him so much. He didn't expect that she would be the one to ask him that question.

Gabriel typed on his phone quickly and showed it to her. Winter just looked at it and nodded her head before looking back to Jillyanna. "Do you want to come with us?"
Jillyanna shook her head with a smile. "Just go. Enjoy your time together."
Winter was able to read her lips for the first two words but she couldn't for the last statement. Still she was told to go so she left while pushing Gabriel on his wheelchair.
"Sigh. Both are outstanding but fate was really cruel to them." Uncle Danilo, the husband of Auntie Vergie said.
"They will be fine. Let's put our trust in them and support them along the way." Jillyanna spoke which lifted everyone's mood.
She didn't want anyone to feel pity towards Gabriel and Winter. For her, they were so brave to still face everyone despite their current circumstances. If it was someone else, they could have fallen in to a depress state or weak mentality. Some would even commit suicide because they couldn't accept these kind of things to happen to them but Gabriel and Winter were different. They still face their life battles head on. They don't deserve pity. They deserve a round of applause.
Winter brought Gabriel to the apple tree that Gabriel planted when he was young. The marks of their names were still clear on the trunk.
"Would you like to practice reading lips so you would understand without anyone typing or writing it for you?" Gabriel typed this question and let her see it.
"Why are you asking?"
"I just thought of helping you while you can't hear yet. It's my way of apologizing as well since I caused you so much pain. I want to make up for it." After typing, he showed it to her again.
Winter looked at him for a while before shaking her head. "I don't need your help. You don't have to apologize either. Whatever your decision is none of my concern."
"I want to stay with you." Gabriel typed this and let her read it. Sincerity was visible in his eyes as he waited for her answer.
Winter didn't respond to this. It wasn't a question that needed her answer and she didn't have any objections either.
In the end, she carelessly spoke. "You can stay. You can leave. Do whatever you want. It doesn't matter."

The Joy of Evolution
"Alright, so I have this idea, a completely original one by the way, never done before." I say. "Alright, lets hear it." You reply happily. "What if you got trapped in the body of a tentacle monster that looks like a virus in a world that is like a videogame, with skills and... whoops slip of the tendril there, what I meant to say is Mutations and Levels as you evolve your way up from being that lowly creature into a slightly better lowly creature, all the while, an evil devil person watches over you for entertainment purposes." I say making weird hand gestures across the table. "Oh and that main character used to be a human male and uses its past experience as one to survive in this new world as a little mass of flesh." I pull out a little ball with suction cup tendrils and show you. "So, what do you think?" " I dont know seems, a little sameish, I think Im gonna go." You say as you start to get up from your worn but still plush velvet chair. "Wait" I sigh, " I didnt want to do this but you leave me no choice, I promise you an extremely diverse harem..." The door closes as you leave. "They'll come back." I say hopeful. Cover: https://phil.cdc.gov/Details.aspx?pid=21073

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
