Chasing After My Wife Chapter 307

Travis was following silently behind his beloved wife with a joyful smile. He wasn't able to wipe off his smile yet when Jillyanna turned around abruptly to face him.
"Stop smiling like a sly wolf." Jillyanna poked his waist twice from getting fooled again. "Sit on the bed so I can dry your hair."
Travis obediently followed her instruction and sat on their huge bed. He wiped his hair with the towel while waiting for Jillyanna.
"You could've brought the hair dryer with you when you went to the study room." she stated while she climbed up on to their bed where Travis sat.
"I'll keep that in mind." Travis turned to face her and hugged her waist. Since he was sitting and Jillyanna was kneeling, she was a bit taller than him. He inhaled her intoxicating scent and got himself lost with her touch.
She was gently combing his hair and drying it at the same time. She didn't even care about him hugging her waist. She was just spoiling him too much.
"I want us to stay like this forever." Travis mumbled on her bosom where he buried his face.
"Even if we want it, we can't. We have to think for our baby's future." Jillyanna responded rationally to his statement.
"My savings can last us few lifetimes. Can't we just be like this for a month before I get back to work?"
Jillyanna kissed the top of his head and smiled. "I will always stay with you. We can cuddle when we want. We can have a late night talk, we can do what we want together. In exchange, you have to let me share your work."
"No, I disagree." Travis looked up and locked his eyes with hers. "I don't want to share my work with you once I start working again. During my coma, you worked hard despite being pregnant. I don't want that to happen again."

"Fine. I won't work but you still have to let me come with you."
"Of course. Didn't we promise that we'd stick together?"
Jillyanna smiled and cupped his cheeks. "I'm glad you remember it." She lowered her head and gave him a light kiss on his lips. "Don't you ever leave me alone."
"Hn. I won't." Travis hugged her again while she continued to dry his hair.
'I'm really selfish to ask this from him. I don't even know if I can make it after giving birth.' Jillyanna thought sadly to herself. It was another problem for her.
She didn't tell Travis about her heart condition yet. For one, he might insist of getting a heart transplant. If that happens, the baby should be aborted; even if they won't, the baby will die because of her medication. And Jillyanna can't do it. She doesn't have the courage to let go of the life inside her. Aside from this reason, Travis just recovered and she didn't want to trouble him.
As much as she could, she'll control herself and eat healthy foods. She had been through a lot and she knew that her heart was giving up on her. 'Six more months. Please let me live for another six months. Let me give birth to my child first. Don't give up yet.'
Jillyanna clutched her chest when she felt a dull pain. She tried calming herself once again before Travis could find out.
"I'm getting tired. I want to sleep." Jillyanna mumbled before she turned off the hair dryer. "Let me rest for a while, okay?"
Travis simply smiled and tucked her in under the soft blanket. He picked the hair dryer and unplugged it before he returned it to its cabinet.
Jillyanna's frown didn't disappear even when she lie down. "Are you alright?" Travis asked her upon seeing her pale complexion.

"I'm fine. You know that I've always been like this after getting pregnant." Jillyanna answered him. She patted the space beside her and gestured him to lie down next to her. "Stay with me for awhile."
Travis didn't need to be told twice. He immediately slid his body under the blanket and pulled his wife closer. He put his arm under his head and let her use him as a pillow.
Jillyanna snuggled closer to him, feeling his warm body with hers while she wrapped her arms on his waist. "I asked them to find the little girl that Gabriel saved." she informed her of the speculations she thought earlier.
"That's good to know. It would be great if we look into all the possibilities." Travis responded while he caressed her soft hair. "I hope we can find him soon. I don't think Winter will ever be fine after this."
"Right." Jillyanna's perfunctory answer was the last word she uttered before she fell asleep. She was just too tired and exhausted from calming her nerves. The dull ache in her heart didn't even dissipate.
Travis looked at his wife in his arms. He knew that something's really wrong with her. She might think that he didn't know but he noticed it multiple times that she would clutch her heart with a deep frown on her face. Sometimes, she would even blink away the tears in her eyes to hide the pain she felt.
"Didn't you get a heart transplant?" Travis whispered while he tucked the strands of stray hairs behind her ears. "Is there any complication? Why aren't you telling me?"
Since he couldn't get any answer from his sleeping wife, Travis just kissed her forehead again and again. He decided that he'd ask Brown to examine her secretly.
Jillyanna found herself lying on a hospital bed. Above her was a blinding light and beside her were several apparatus for operation. She could see several faceless people around her; some were holding her and a certain someone was holding a thing like a small vacuum.
"Operation to abort the baby will now commence."
Jillyanna didn't know who said it but the doctor moved and inserted the vacuum-like thing inside her.
"No! Stop it! No! Don't take my baby! Stop it!" In her dream, she was thrashing on the operating table while several people held her tightly. "If you kill my baby, I will kill everyone in your family! From the oldest to the youngest. I'll never leave anyone alive!" Jillyanna shouted at the top of her lungs but the doctor didn't listen to her at all.
"Stop it! Please. I'm begging you."
She was covered in cold sweat while she cried in her sleep. Travis was already in panic while he tried to wake her up. It wasn't even night time and yet she was having a nightmare.
"Jill, no one will take away our baby. I won't let anyone harm you. Jill wake up." Travis called out to her several times but she would just frown as if she was in so much pain. "Jill, wake up."
