Chasing After My Wife Chapter 294

When Jackie arrived home, she found that she's missing one button of her black jacket and it could've been left at the jail or somewhere on the way.
As part of her cautious behavior, she changed her clothes and threw it on the trash bin. She didn't need anyone to find those clothes or know it was her.
The hair clip that she left was just a clue to mess up with Vincent.
"You're throwing those clothes out?" Riley asked from the living room. She was reading the script once again and Shein was just right beside her checking on the jail's system to make sure that no other clue can be seen that could be traced back to Jackie.
"I am just being cautious."
"Oh? Is that why you left your hair clip on purpose?"
"I just want to mess with someone." Jackie had always been serious since they were young. It was a seldom occasion to see her smile but now, Riley and Shein could see the joy in her eyes.
They watched Jackie go out of the house to throw the trash bag. 'Did she find someone she likes?' This is the question that Shein and Riley wanted to ask but they didn't dare to.
The next morning, the three of them sat in front of Shein's laptop to watch what will happen. They haven't sleep for the whole night because they wanted to know what their eldest sister, Jillyanna was up to.
"Oh they start eating the sandwiches.." Riley commented as they watched everything unfold.
One minute. One hour. Two hours...They waited for hours and nothing happened. Jackie started preparing their breakfast while the two remained seated on the couch.
When she couldn't take it anymore, Riley closed her eyes and leaned her head on Shein's shoulder to sleep.

Shein carried her back to her bed instead so that she can sleep comfortably. He didn't want her to get a stiff neck because she'd throw a fit again if that happens.
Jackie continued cooking since nothing happened yet. Shein drank his third cup of coffee and continued watching camera records through his laptop.
Around 10 o'clock in the morning, Riley got up to drink a glass of water. It was at this time that she caught something on the laptop screen.
"What's happening to them?" she asked her sister and Shein who was watching the videos.
"I'm not really sure but it looks to me that they were in so much pain." Shein answered his girlfriend while zooming in the camera record to get a clear views.
They watched the Summers being carried to the clinic with soulless eyes. They were sweating and gritting their teeth. Some of them even cried.
'So that's what she wanted. She didn't want me to kill them but feel the intense pain while living. Will this be repetitive?' Jackie thought to herself.
Instead of doing her mission for a month, she ended it earlier than planned. She immediately informed Jillyanna about what happened and asked what she had in mind as well.
"Yes. That poison I asked you to give them will act again tomorrow morning. It will act every single day until they will take their life themselves." Jillyanna answered calmly like she was answering a school test.
"Will the doctors know that it was because of the poison?"
"Nope. They won't be able to detect anything."
"I see. Well, I'm glad I helped you. You don't have to worry about Simon, I made sure that he's safe and he will continue to be safe."
"Thanks Jackie."

"Am I going back to work tomorrow?"
"I don't think so. Dad and everyone is currently taking care of the company. In exchange, I'd have to travel to places that Travis went to before. Would you like to come with us instead? You can take it as a vacation, too."
"I'm good with it." Jackie responded almost immediately. She wanted to relax herself too.
While she was thinking about her vacation, Vincent was thinking about her at the same time. He was worried, suspicious and sad for her. He didn't know what he can do to make her believe that he was being honest of his feelings.
"Is she testing me?" Vincent murmured to himself while holding on to the hair clip. He flipped it on his hand over and over again but he couldn't think of anything to say.
He was also very sure that she owned the clip because no one in the jail wore a hair clip aside from her.
From morning 'til night, all he could think was her. The Summers went through a full body check up but there wasn't any findings.
The next day, it happened again. All the Summers except Simon were writhing in pain. They didn't know what was going on and the doctors couldn't find anything either.
This continued for a week and this left a huge hole in Vincent's career. The higher ups were curious with what was happening because the report they received didn't say anything. It looked to them that the Summers were just pretending to be sick because the doctors couldn't diagnose their illness.
Vincent decided to finally contact Jackie and asked her personally about his conjectures. He didn't really want to accuse her but after she arrived and left the regional jail, everything changed.
Jackie agreed to meet him in a cafe across the restaurant that Jillyanna and Travis went. It was noon time and they were all hungry from looking around the city.
"You're not eating with us?" Travis asked upon seeing Jackie leave.
"I have to step out for awhile big bro. I'm meeting with a friend in that cafe over there." Jackie informed him since Jillyanna went to the comfort room first.
"Alright. I'll tell your sister about it. Make sure to come as soon as you can. We won't leave her until you're back."
"Okay. I'll be back soon." Jackie ran for the door and walked across the street to the cafe that they agreed to meet.

Blightbane
Miscellaneous Notes: - I want to see about making a crude map of Shroud to help readers. - I also want to get back to writing Coalescence updates. Schedule Notes: - None for now, updates when I can. [ Thank you for your patience and support as I improve my writing and storytelling abilities. I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground. A young man named Caim has been uprooted from his former life and transported to The Shrouded Theocracy, an isolationist nation with fanatical policies. He must struggle to survive with only an unfamiliar strain of magic to aid him. There is a secret to this magic. One he knows very little about. He intends to explore just what makes this magic special. On the far border of the theocracy, a mage scientist named Inis discovers a revolutionary new way to infuse strength from defeated blightbeasts. Using herself as a test subject, this process allows her to grasp magical concepts previously thought beyond her reach. Though she tries to document any side effects that arise, something escapes her awareness. She is playing with a dangerous force that will claim her most treasured asset if she isn't careful. Everyone and everything on the planet is a part of the experiment. The experiment is a lie.

Immovable Mage

Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry. Overview: 001–030 Arc 1, Cultivating Perseverance: complete. 031–060 Arc 2, Undying Defiance: complete. 061–090 Arc 3, Unyielding Fury: scheduled for publishing. 091–120 Arc 4, Savage Hope: scheduled for publishing. 121–150 Arc 5, Self-Made Fate: first draft in progress. 151–180 Arc 6, Heretic Style: sketching in progress. Further Arcs are still in the sketching and idea collection phase.
