Chasing After My Wife Chapter 278

"Am I such a crybaby in your dreams? I thought I'm a strong woman who's capable and smart." Jillyanna murmured while trying to get off from his embrace. She didn't want to cause his discomfort.
"Don't move. Just stay still. I've been deprived of your warmth for a month so, let me do this."
He hugged her even tighter. If he could put her inside his pocket or stick her on his body, he would've done it a long time ago.
Savannah brought a chair to Jillyanna so that she could sit beside him.
"How about we all take our dinner? My treat." Thomas offered which everybody agreed. In fact, they only wanted to leave the two of them alone.
One by one as they left, the crowded room once again returned to a quiet place. Only her hiccups and light sob can be heard.
"I'm sorry for the trouble that Shein caused you." Jillyanna opened up knowing that he would be asking her about the issue few days ago.
"Not at all. Even though he often threw silly jokes at me, he would always help me when I needed it. I knew he was only teasing me since I couldn't remember everyone."
"Thank you for understanding him. He is a very nice kid and he helped me a lot to secure your empire."
"Hn. I did hear that you started working as a CEO."
"Even if I don't want to, I don't want to let anyone manage your business." Jillyanna sat on the teacher but her hands were still wrapped on his waist. "I waited for you and I am so happy that I did."
"Did I give you a hard time?"
"At first, it was indeed difficult. I trusted you my life and you promised that you won't leave me yet, you got caught in this accident because of me."

Travis reached his hand and caressed her face with his thumb. "I'm sorry it took me so long to recover."
Jillyanna smiled and held his hand which was touching her face. The warmth from his touch gave her so much hope in life. "Even if I have to wait for years, I will wait for you. I never thought of giving up."
Travis leaned closer and kissed her forehead. "I couldn't sleep forever when I know that you are waiting for me. You know, I only see you in my dreams and no one else. I can only hear your voice and no one else."
"Did the doctor say anything about your memory loss?"
"Hn. He said that this isn't permanent but he didn't know when will my memories return. He suggested that I go to places that I spent most of my times."
"Then, I'll take you to different places. I'll help you remember everyone. They are all good and you've been friends with them for a long time. It would be sad if you couldn't remember them."
"I'll go wherever you go." Travis stated with determination in his eyes. Jillyanna laughed so hard with his words. It was the same words that she told him when she chose to give their relationship a chance. At that time, she was also hospitalized from bleeding.
"I love you Travis." She murmured, kissing the back of his hands again and again.
"I love you, too Jill. You and our baby." He could see that she's tired from her travel so Travis suggested for her to sleep. "Give yourself a rest. Don't worry, I won't be going anywhere."
"Okay. I'm honestly tired. Wake me up if you need anything okay?"
"Okay."

Jillyanna took a quick shower and changed her clothes. Then, she arranged her own bed so she could sleep.
"Make sure to call me if you need something. Don't move to much." She reminded him before giving him a light kiss on his lips. "Good night."
"Hn. Good night."
Even though he agreed to her, Travis didn't wake her up. How could he? He knew she was tired and worried for him. He wanted her to rest for her physical and emotional stability.
Travis sat on his bed while watching his sleeping wife. His dreams resurfaced which made him feel guilty. 'Perhaps it was the reason why I couldn't forget you. The more I tried to bury our unpleasant memories, the more they tried to escape from the back of my mind.' Travis thought to himself.
When he said that he was dreaming of her, the dreams he saw were actual memories of her.
He saw her crying, clutching her chest while she tried to catch up to him and when he turned around, she was lying on the ground with a pale face. It played in his mind again and again but he couldn't seem to save her.
He dreamed of it for several times until he finally caught her in his arms. And that was the time he woke up for the first time.
The next dream that he saw was when Jillyanna bled from the stress he caused. It played again and again until he finally opened the door before her bleeding could start. And that was the second time he woke up.
Every time that he woke up, it was because of his fear from losing her. His guilty conscience and his fear saved him and woke him up.
The doctor told him that his subconscious must have focused on Jillyanna after he protected her. His subconscious mind couldn't be put at rest because he wasn't sure if his wife was okay. That was why he couldn't think of anyone else but her.
The doctor also informed him how brave his wife all these time while waiting for him. He told him all the good things about Jillyanna which made Travis so happy.
"Treasure your wife just like how much she treasured you. It's hard to find such lovely and kind woman." The doctor reminded him before he left.
Travis clearly remembered this and he would make sure to protect her. Even if it would cost his life.
While he was lost in his thought, Jillyanna moved in her sleep and exposed her arm in front of him when her sleeves slid up.
Travis frowned and sat up straight. He wasn't allowed to move so much yet but this time, he disobeyed the reminder because of the faint bruise he saw in her arm.

Covenant Sinners: The Origin of a Demon Queen
Demon-slayer knight Hector Aeronwen became an enemy of all humankind after saving a dying half-demon girl out of pity. Little did he know, his impulsive action had forever changed the course of the world and the fates of many. This is the story about Hector's desperate quest and the beginning of the demoness whose destiny is to shake the world to its very foundation. Author's note: At the risk of spoiling too much of this story, I want to reveal a bit about the core idea behind this work of fiction. I set out with the idea to write a story in the perspective of the second in command of a demon lord, which then would be followed up with large scale kingdom buildings and warring states. But then I asked myself: what past do they have between them for the Demon Lord to have so much faith in her second in command, and for him to be so loyal to such a horrible being? So this is my attempt at writing the origin of those two, who, while hated by all races in the world, still have each other as the only confidant to entrust their life to. If you are like me and want to see where this premise, with a vague destination in mind, will lead to, please have a read and give me your valued feedback!

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
