Chasing After My Wife Chapter 256

Travis saw her sleeping on the couch. He wanted to call her but he can't seem to find his voice. He felt so weak and even lifting his hand took a toll on him. He didn't even get the chance to look at her for a long time and he fell unconscious again.
Jillyanna was sound asleep from exhaustion and didn't notice his weak movements or his weak call. She slept until the sun was brightly illuminating the world outside. The cool breeze blew the curtains, swinging it to and fro and the birds started chirping, calling their friends and families to join them.
But Jillyanna's eyes wasn't on them. She couldn't seem to hear anything and she felt numb. Her eyes were straight on Travis' hand which was already limply hanging on the side of his hospital bed.
She immediately checked her monitor to see if there was anything abnormal but everything's fine. "Top? Top come inside." she called for the chief of the security who guarded the place at night. Even if Hawk and Savannah was already there, he would not leave until he wakes up to make sure that he won't miss any questions from her.
Top opened the door and saw the panic-stricken face of Jillyanna. "Yes young madam?"
"Last night, after I went to sleep, did anyone come inside to see Travis?"
"No, madam. No one came to visit him."
"Really?" she was still unsure but she felt something was amiss. "Alright, you can go home now. Take good care of yourself and have a plenty of rest."
"Yes young madam. I'll head out now. Take care." Top bowed his head and walked out of the room, leaving the confused Jillyanna by herself.
"It's impossible. I clearly remembered that I put his hand on his tummy." she mumbled softly to herself in disbelief. Still doubting, she placed a gentle kiss on his face and went back to fold the expandable couch. Just as she was roaming around to prepare herself for work, she caught sight of the mini camera she placed under the TV.

"Oh right! I placed a cam to see Travis but I haven't been checking on it lately since mom kept watch on him." she stopped whatever she was planning on doing and pulled out her laptop. She looked for the video recordings and used a time-lapse to see what happened after she fell asleep.
She watched the video intently and ignored everyone who came inside. She knew no one can get inside without passing through Hawk's inspection, so she felt safe.
"What are you watching?" It was Shein who came to find her before going to work. It had been more than a week since he worked with Jillyanna but he would always come to see her first before going to work.
"I'm watching my husband." she replied, almost a whisper because she was so focused on the video.
Shein was about to ask her another thing when he saw Jillyanna's eyes widened. She looked like she saw a ghost or something. "What happened?!" Shein asked in worry and came to sit beside her so he could watch it, too.
Savannah and Hawk were also alarmed to see her reaction specially that she mentioned she was watching Travis.
Jillyanna replayed the video and allowed Shein to watch it with her. In the recording, she clearly saw the moment Travis opened his eyes. He seemed to be saying something but they couldn't hear his voice. And he lifted his hand as if to reach Jillyanna who was sleeping not far from him. It was less than a minute footage and if there wasn't a video, you would think that everything was just made of your imagination.
"Oh my god! Call the doctor immediately." Shein told Savannah who ran out of the door as soon as she heard him. "That was...oh god! We aren't imagining things, right?"

"That is my concern, too. They might think I'm going crazy from being worried all day and that I am starting to imagine things." Jillyanna slouched on the couch and felt helpless."But we both watched it, and you saw it. It wasn't just me. Sigh, I don't want to get any false hope."
"Let's wait and see what the doctor can find." Shein rubbed her hair messily to comfort her. "Don't be upset, I don't want an ugly niece or nephew."
"My baby won't be ugly." Jillyanna made a rebuttal and watched the video again. Not long after the doctors came and walked up to her.
"We didn't get any signal in our station. Did something happen?" The lead doctor asked Jillyanna while the other doctors and nurse checked Travis to make sure that he was fine.
"Can you watch this for me?" Jillyanna gave him the laptop which displayed the emaciated figure of the once fit and good-looking man. She pressed the play button and let the doctor watched it, who had a smile on his lips when the video ended. "It is not my imagination, right?"
"It is not Mrs. Madrigal. This is a good sign for his recovery. Some patients would just wake up instantly as if they were just having a long dream. Some patients would take their time and would wake up for certain amount of time before falling unconscious again. Your husband is the latter case. His body is coping with the damage and adjusting to his recovery. He will wake up and fall unconscious several times. As time goes by, he will have longer conscious time and will recover soon."
A tear fell on the cold floor after relief washed over her anxiety. It was a tear of joy. Her persistent attitude rewarded her with happiness that only Travis can give. She was so happy with the good news.
"Thanks doc. Thank you for helping us." Jillyanna smiled at the doctor while wiping her tears away.
"No problem Mrs. Madrigal. We will have another stimuli test later and we will let you know of the result when you get back from work."
After reassuring her that Travis was safe, the doctors and nurses left with big smiles.

Human][Class: ... ... ...] [Hero] [Welcome to the System] What is a village-born Hero to do, but answer his calling? Current schedule: No chapters for the next few months. I'm still writing the entirety of Volume 2. WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter

Kill the Harem
I was never a person who struggled with anything. Whatever I wanted to achieve, I achieved, except for finding a good reason for living. That was until I died. Perhaps it was karma, or perhaps it was some particularly sick god. I woke up in a world full of magic and encountered all these women who became romantically obsessed with me. It bears an uncanny resemblance to those garbage isekai series that I had the misfortune of reading in high school. The problem is, I loathe isekai. It got to the point where ever time I read about a busty elf-girl wanting to follow the protagonist, I wanted to throw something. It's illogical and it ruins the flow of the story. But now, I'm the one getting harassed by such illogical people? What complete and utter drivel. If any obsessive crazy person tries to make me theirs without even caring about my opinion, I'll f*cking kill them! I'll kill them all! I'm getting back home no matter what. My favorite manga hasn't finished yet and I want to read it to the end. Q&A Section Q: Is the protagonist mentally healthy? A: No, not even close. Q: Are all the female characters stupid? A: Barring extenuating circumstances, nobody rational would fall for a guy like the protagonist, so there's a bit of selection bias going on here. Q: Is this about a Gary Stu killing a bunch of irrational harem characters in a cliche isekai world? A: Go reread the title and the synopsis. Q: Do the women die because they won't sleep with the protagonist? A: No. I'm not sure where anyone got that from since it's entirely the opposite of what happens.
