Chasing After My Wife Chapter 246

She didn't know what to think or what to say. She never knew that the heart she had been using to keep living was not really meant for her. She felt horrible and astounded with the truth.
Simon continued to talk about her mother and the reason behind the research. "Dad is aging and he couldn't accept that he would die. He still wanted to live. That is why, when he heard about your mother's research, he did everything he can to get his hands on it. He asked someone to kidnap Venus' son and tortured him. It was already a bonus for him that Winter came with Travis, who is now suffering from amnesia. It didn't end there. When Venus couldn't fulfill his wishes, he decided to just end your mother's life. I don't have much power back then. I know that I will be dispose as well if they knew I betrayed them. I waited for years and then I met you. You resembled so much of Elizabeth and I had someone investigate you as soon as possible."
"What about Travis? From what I obtained, your father asked someone to do it, too." Jillyanna didn't as much as flinch with her question. There wasn't any sadness or any emotions that showed in her face. No one knew what she was really thinking up to this point.
Simon leaned on the back of his chair and sighed deeply. "It wasn't my father who did it but my eldest brother. He was so angry that he couldn't get the research and even found out that you burned everything. From the pressure of everyone, he looked for someone who held a deep grudge against the Madrigal. That's how he found Mr. Guevarra. He was feeding him lies and asked him to do things for his own benefit. Most likely it was to take revenge on you. I didn't know about this until last week. If I had known, I would've warned you."

"I am glad that you guys are not related to my mother. She would be so sad if she knew that it was her own family who planned her murder. It is such a good thing that she isn't blood related to you at all. I've been wondering why she wouldn't tell me about anyone in her family, it turns out that there's no need to introduce me to a bunch of scoundrels." She couldn't help but threw sarcasms in front of the man.
True, he helped them a lot if times for the sake of her mother but Jillyanna couldn't trust anyone in his family. She always had a hard time trusting anyone. It was even difficult to trust Travis at first, how much more for a family who planned to kills her mother.
Seeing her cold demeanor, Simon smiled and reached out to touch her hands and held on to it tightly. Jillyanna didn't took her hand away but she didn't say anything either.
"I am not going to ask for your forgiveness, after all the mess I had put you through in the past. I won't even ask you to lighten my punishment because I am indeed involved in this crime because I didn't say anything to the authorities. Not saying anything even though I knew everything was wrong will consider me as an accomplice. Jillyanna, I only have one request. Please tell my sister that I am really sorry for being weak. Tell my sister that I am sorry for not finding her when I knew what was happening. All I need is acknowledgement that I am still a brother to her." For a man to cry, he must be in indescribable pain.
Ever since Jillyanna came inside the room, it was at this point that she felt pity for the man. She took the heart that was meant for him. Her sister died because of a research that was created for him. His family was ruined. Everything was ruined for him.

At least for Jillyanna, she found people who cared for her and family who loves her. However for Simon, he's got no one. The only sister who cared for him was already gone.
Every drop of his tears was like a nail being hammered on her chest. It was painful and numbing. Jillyanna couldn't help herself and cried as well. She wept for her mother, for Simon, for Travis who got involved in this mess, for Venus and for herself.
The cause of all these events was just a mere research that her mother poured her time to complete. A research that was suppose to save lives but it took many.
"Uncle..." Jillyanna called out to him softly. "Thank you for enduring everything for the sake of getting justice for my mother. Thank you for letting me know everything."
Simon cried so hard after she called him with respect. He didn't dare imagine that she would call him uncle but she did. He was so happy and didn't feel regret about his ruined family at all. Well, everything was ruined the day his sister was married of to Anton. Even though it wasn't what her sister wanted, he was happy that she lived a happy life until Anton was gone.
"By the way, do you know that you would have to get a real heart when you reach 23 years old?" Simon asked her the most concerning thing.
Jillyanna nodded her head hesitantly as she wiped her tears using the back of her hand.. She knew this would be a problem but she still went ahead with her plan of getting a baby.
"You will reach 23 years old four months from now. What about your baby?"
"My baby will live." The simplest answer she could give.
Simon stopped asking her anything that was private. Jillyanna then asked him the questions that the police wanted to know. He even refused to get a lawyer for himself. As he said, he wanted to let everyone know the inhumane experiment his family conducted. He won't be kind to save their butts. He lost his sister and there's no one else to save.

Balancing of the world
Just as humanity reached the height of its power, it fell again. Mana was introduced into a previously balanced world, sending everything present into chaos. Humanity losing its technological advantages, fell back to the dark ages, back to when survival was all but guaranteed. Mana though useful for enhancing the body isn’t unlimited, and humanity fell behind fast. From experiments, a being of mana, born into this chaotic world. The first of its kind. Rather than thriving in a world to which it belongs, it has to model the world so it will suit its needs. As a lone being, it has to use its power over mana to influence beasts and humans alike to abide by its will and further its goals. It will manipulate intelligent lifeforms to do its bidding while believing that they are becoming stronger. It will help lower lifeforms and guide their lives until they fit into the world as envisioned by our being. Read how our protagonist starts in a small area, changing it to suit its needs, and then grows until the world is balanced and at peace again. This is my first story, and I don’t have an editor yet. My English should be good enough, but I expect to have to go back and do editing later on. I would classify this story as litRPG. There will be a type of system with blue boxes and all, though the perspective is the system itself and how it came to be and why it does what it does. As a single mighty being, there will be dungeon core influences such as expanding the area and influencing all within though there is no such thing as an actual dungeon. As humanity is trying to survive, there will also be some city/base building influences, and I will have some perspective changes to show how the forces are being perceived by the affected people. As I have a busy job, it will be hard to update consistently, but I am quite a bit ahead of what I have currently uploaded.

Growth
A fantasy story set in a world after mankind has long passed. Their descendants inhabit the ruins of humanity, barely clinging to survival, plagued by monstrous beasts and blessed with strange powers. Note: Have not edited it at all yet. There will likely be pretty broad changes once I get around to actually reading what I've written.
