Chasing After My Wife Chapter 242

Lucian felt a throbbing headache on his temple so he sat down on the couch available in the chief's office. He could only wish and pray that Jillyanna wouldn't know anything about this.
Officer Nik also started to worry for their chief's family. When your own family gets involved, it wouldn't be easy to make a decision.
Officer David, who worked with Savannah in previous case where Jillyanna got involved through kidnapping, also felt a little bit helpless in this matter.
Brown left work earlier than any day. During the previous days that he worked, he would always leave with the others, half an hour after their off time. However, today he left on time and asked Valkyrie to come and pick him up as soon as possible.
When he got down, Valkyrie was already waiting with a taxi beside him. "Why bother taking a taxi?" Brown asked but he still got inside as soon as he can.
"The sooner we get home the better." Valkyrie answered him before giving the address to the driver. They didn't even take five minutes and they reached their apartment already.
Valkyrie paid their fare without waiting for the change and got out of the car to chase after Brown. Their apartment room was located on the second floor of the two-storey building which would take them a minute or two to reach from the gate.
Brown threw a single shoe at the backyard of the apartment building as well as a pen that was similar to the ones he usually used at the laboratory.
Earlier, around 3pm, he received a message to go home as soon as the clock hits the log out time. The security and the higher ups knew that he breached through their system and they were already hunting him. They knew where he stayed, too.

Valkyrie wanted to just go away as soon as they can but they can't leave some of their personal things in the apartment. Thus, they came back to get them.
Valkyrie left a mini camera on the window facing the front gate and another camera facing the inside of the house.
Brown put all his things inside a duffel bag together with Valkyrie's belongings. The two of them went to the comfort room with Valkyrie holding a foldable metal stairs that they got from their neighbor last night with an excuse that they were going to fix their bulb.
Valkyrie climbed up first and removed a certain wooden tile from the ceiling so that they can hide on the attic-like space. Brown reached the duffel bag before getting himself in. They took the foldable metal stairs inside as well before putting the wooden tile back to its place, closing the ceiling off.
"I can't breath." Brown whispered since they were in a closed space with darkness around them.
"Wait a moment." Valkyrie crawled off to somewhere and removed two roof tiles to let some air and light inside the space they were in.
Brown finally breathed in and out to keep himself calm. He was sending a message to Lucian about the search warrant and arrest application but Lucian replied a sad emoji before sending another text.
"Our chief's family are being held hostage by the higher ups." Lucian told him the truth. Brown didn't reply to his message instead, he contacted Jillyanna immediately.
"I got all the evidence needed to bring justice for your mother. However, Lucian can't get the search and arrest warrant because their higher ups won't allow it. Their chief's family is also being held hostage."
Jillyanna received the message just as she was about to get inside the car with Savannah. "Let's all head back to the hospital right now."

Jackie and Shein looked at each other and gave a knowing smile to each other. They were both certain that they would be humiliating people or busting their asses to their grave.
Jillyanna replied to Brown when she got inside. "I'll take care of it. Make sure that both of you will come back alive." she reminded them before keeping her phone inside her bag.
When they all got back to the hospital, Jillyanna just kissed Travis and started working immediately. It's time to bring justice for her mother as well as for Venus.
Her face was emotionless but her eyes were sparkling with merriment. She had been waiting for this day to come and finally, it came to grace her life with light and hope for her mother and mother-in-law.
"Yanna, what's up?" Lucian asked her. She called him as soon as she sat down while Shein opened his laptop to work.
"Does chief know where his family is being held right now?" Jillyanna asked immediately without beating around the bushes.
Lucian gasped upon hearing her and started shaking his head. 'There's no use keeping a secret from her.' he thought before taking a deep sigh. "They are still at home waiting for chief to make a decision. People were guarding them to make sure that they won't escape."
"Are the higher ups the same people two years ago?" Jillyanna asked him again.
"They are."
"Alright thanks. Wait for my signal and apply for a new search and arrest warrant." Jillyanna ended the call and gave Shein an address. "Look into the number of people guarding this place."
Savannah and Hawk were dumbfounded on the side. They didn't know if they should be happy that she helped Brown and Winter finish their task or if they should be worried that she's involving herself. Perhaps, they felt both.
After a minute, Shein got a blue print of the house as well as the infrared signal of the men guarding the place.
"Give me a copy so I can formulate a plan." she opened her own laptop.
"Do you need help?" Hawk asked Jillyanna who didn't bother them at all.
"Hn. I'd greatly appreciate if you guys can help."
Hawk and Savannah approached her and took a seat on the other couch. "You can leave the rescue mission to us. Savannah and I have been doing it for quite sometime now." Hawk mentioned to her.
"That's a great help. There will be four people who will come. You and Savannah plus the twins. You can kill these bastard if you want. I'll take care of the mess."
Savannah and Hawk shivered down from the cold look in her eyes. They have seen many cold-blooded people in their years in military but Jillyanna was in a whole new different level. It was as if, the lady they met months ago was just a manifestation of their imagination.
