Chasing After My Wife Chapter 205

Winter stayed inside her room ever since she arrived from the mall. She even cooked her own food for lunch and brought it upstairs. She's got no intention of coming out at all.
It was past noon already and everyone was done eating but she didn't show up herself at all. Honestly, she didn't like eating inside her bedroom but she didn't want to see Gabriel and now, her empty dishes made her frown and irritated.
She picked up her phone and called Jillyanna downstairs to send a helper to get her plates.
"Winter, are you alright?" Jillyanna asked when she received her call. They were staying in the living room having discussion for the next day's events when she called.
"I am fine but can you send a helper to my room to get my plates."
"Sure. I'll send someone over." Jillyanna had a mischievous smile on her lips before she ended the call. She turned to Gabriel with that cheeky and knowing smile of hers. "Check what she's doing. Bring a helper so that she can open the door for you."
Gabriel nodded his head and gave her a respectful salute. "Thanks for helping me out."
"No worries." Jillyanna gave her phone to Travis since he didn't want her to keep touching things with radiation.
Gabriel went to the kitchen and asked a helper to come with him. His things were placed on the guest rooms already and everything had been prepared for him. That was why, he focused his time to Winter and her family.
'Knock! Knock! Knock!' The helper knocked Winter's door to get her empty plates.
"Who is it?" Winter called out before opening the door.
"Miss Winter, I am sent here by Miss Jillyanna to get your plates." The helper said while waiting for the door to open. Gabriel was standing on the side, waiting for Winter to open the door.

Upon hearing the answer Winter opened the door and reached her hands out with the empty dishes on a tray. She was just about to close it when a foot showed up and stopped the door.
"Ah! Why the heck are you here?!" she yelled at him but Gabriel wasn't the least bit bothered with her furious gaze. "Get your foot out or I will really break it."
"Do it cause I won't leave." Gabriel stubbornly looked at her, determination and concern swirled in his eyes. "People wanted me to bring back the Winter we knew. I want to fulfill their wishes."
"Don't bother." Even if she didn't want to see him, she didn't have any reason to hurt him as well so she kept the door open, to avoid breaking his foot. "I am perfectly fine being me right now."
Gabriel went inside her uninvited. He had been to her room many times and nothing has changed. "Are you planning to stay here the whole time just because I arrived?" He didn't close the door behind him to give her a little bit of security.
"So what?"
"Come with me and walk at the farm."
"No. I am tired."
"I'll carry you off on my back."
"I am not disabled."
"I want to show you something."
"I don't want to see anything with you."
They argued back and forth like how they used to when they were younger and that always give her a sense of familiarity. She couldn't point out why though but, she always feel that way whenever she argued with him. She felt that this happened to them in the past.
"Lieutenant Colonel Avery, I want you to walk with me at the farm." Gabriel insisted which made her grit her teeth from anger.

"Don't order me around. I am not in the camp and you are not in your territory."
"In that case, shall I make your knees weak so I could carry you in my arms? My kisses work the best whenever this happened." He took a step forward to get closer to her.
Avery felt alarmed at his statement. Indeed, in the past, whenever she won't follow his order, he will kiss her until she's running out of breath, wobbling knees and messed up braincells. He would then carry her in his arms and go to different places where he claimed she would like. However, she hates those places because she always get a headache. After those painful experience, she refused to go to the places he wanted to show her.
Another reason was because, he wasn't doing it cause he cared for her. He was doing it because people wanted him to do it and he wanted to fulfill their wishes. He wanted to repay the Madrigal and Avery family for helping him in the past. For him, she was just a task.
"Don't do it. Don't do anything, I'll come with you." Winter agreed and walked past him towards the door. She didn't even wait for him and walked out of the house, ignoring the people in the living room.
"Where are you guys going?" Jillyanna asked Gabriel when he came down.
"Sight seeing." was his short reply as he ran out of the house to chase Winter who was already out of his sight.
"Well, we can only rely on him. If Winter remembers everything, I am pretty sure things will brighten up for her. Let's just trust Gabriel to do what he can." Thomas commented before standing up to go back to his room. "I'll rest for a while."
Now that they were left on their own, Jillyanna looked at Savannah which was a signal for them to leave the men.
"I'll go upstairs with Savannah." Jillyanna informed Travis. "I'll come and find you after two hours. Don't leave the house."
"Hn." Travis replied to her.
Savannah and Jillyanna walked upstairs to start their project. Supposedly, Jillyanna was the only one who wanted to make it but Savannah wanted to try and give Hawk a warm sweater. Thus, the two of them started their secret project which was making a crochet of warm sweater for their men.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
