Chasing After My Wife Chapter 170

Jillyanna went back to her room and found Travis zipping up the second suitcase full of her things. Her anger subsided and she walked towards him.
"I don't need so much clothes." she stated while placing the phone back to her drawer.
Travis had his back on her as he arranged her things. When he turned around to face her, Jillyanna hugged him and hid her face on his chest. "What upsets you this time?" he asked her softly, hugging her back to comfort her.
"You promised to stay with me right?" she asked in a muffled voice.
"Hn. I will stay with you."
"Will you really stay with me?"
"What's this about? It seems like you're preparing yourself to run away again." Travis lifted her head so that he can look at her eyes. "I don't know how else I can prove it to you but I am true to my words. I won't leave you again. No matter what your secrets are, I'll gladly accept it because that is who you are."
"Then what if I tell you that I killed an innocent girl when I just hit the legal age." she dropped the first revelation with a trembling voice. She even shifted her eyes away from him because she was afraid to see judgement in them.
Travis was processing her words while watching her. She didn't look like she was joking. She was trembling in his arms and she was trying to hold back her tears.
"How could you kill someone?" Travis asked in disbelief. He knew she's strong and worked as an undercover cop but he won't believe that she killed someone. She will never do it. "I don't believe you."
"Why won't you believe me?" Jillyanna asked him. He looked a bit troubled when he looked at her so Jillyanna voided looking at him. She was staring down on her feet. "I pushed her to her death."

Travis sighed and led her to the sofa. "Would you please elaborate what happened?" he sat on the sofa and let Jillyanna sat on his lap so that he can hug her.
At this moment, all he can do was to hug her and listen to her. She needed comfort and someone who can understand what she went through.
Jillyanna leaned on his chest and started talking. "When I was sixteen, I joined a secret organization. It was that time that I studied advance criminology while taking the business management. Business was just a cover to my trips overseas. My family thought that I left the country to study. I would be gone for a week sometimes a month."
"You must be really smart because they allowed you to leave even when you have classes." Travis commented to ease her discomfort. He knew how much courage she needed to tell him these things and he didn't want to judge her outrightly.
Jillyanna smiled faintly upon hearing his words. "Probably. I have been able to learn things quickly. I was only held back because I stopped studying after my mother died. When I got adopted, they enrolled me to the same school where Cielo and Lucian studied. I don't want to compete in the same level as Cielo so I refused to go for an advance class. And because I always perfect my scores during exams, the teachers allowed me to leave the country for whatever reasons I have."
"You were not a good student. Don't let our child learn that." Travis told her which made her laugh in his arms. He was happy that she's feeling better, too.
"I think so, too. I often ditch my classes before. If it were not for my remarkable grades, I would've been kicked out already. Anyway, I joined the organization to find justice for my mother. It was more like, I was trained to assassinate someone. Back then, I figured some information that led me to my mother's family. It took me two years to get my hands on that piece of information. One day, one of the girls in the organization approached me."

"Hey Summer! Why are you here alone?"
Jillyanna stuffed the piece of paper back in her pocket. She was standing at the koi fish pond while reading the information when someone approached her.
"Lyka it's you. I am just checking on something. Why are you here?" she asked back.
"I want to get some fresh air." she stated as she sat on the cold wooden floor. "Why did you join this organization by the way?"
"For my mother."
"You're an orphan, too? I also lost my parents when I was in high school. My father was shot when he was on his way home and my mother was stabbed multiple times leading to her death. The police couldn't find anything or they just didn't want to deal with it, so I'm taking this matter with my own hands."
"Why? Do you know who killed them?" Jillyanna asked.
"I do. A week before my parents died, my father prepared everything for us to leave the country. He was scared and would panic even the slightest noise we make. He mentioned four names everyday who would come and kill him which was the reason we needed to leave. I thought he was going crazy and was having paranoia. I never thought that my ignorance will kill them both." Lyka sounded mournful when she spoke but her eyes had an evil glint and her face looked cold.
"If I am given the chance to find out who killed my mother, I will take preparation immediately. If the authorities won't do it then I will do it myself, too. There's no point allowing scums to continue living. Don't you think so?" Jillyanna responded. She got her information already and she's planning to prepare herself.
Lyka smiled at her. "I agree with what you said. There's no point in letting them live."
"Don't think too much about it. That's just my negative emotions rushing in. Live your life and make your own family. It's another way to console your parents' soul."

The Nightcore Trilogy
Going to space was supposed to be the adventure of a lifetime, but for Reece Danielson and his crew, it was only the beginning. As the fresh astronauts aboard the Zhengzhou International Space Station start their on-the-job training, Reece is shown a discovery that changes his entire worldview. It isn’t long before a tragic accident aboard the station sets off a series of events that not only puts the crew in danger but at odds with each other. The events quickly escalate into a man-made apocalyptic incident on the surface of the planet. A virulent plague is prematurely released which transforms everyone into flesh-eating undead, and that is only the beginning of the troubles. There are far worse things down there than zombies and possibly a few of them lurk on the station itself. The Nightcore Trilogy thematically begins with a heavy sci-fi feel coupled to a gritty space-based horror mystery. The story's layers are slowly peeled back, evolving into something much more supernatural, mythological, and high-fantasy-based. It's a mix of elements from survival horror, zombie apocalypses, ancient mythologies, supernatural stories, and harem anime. It contains semi-descriptive sex scenes (traditional and non-traditional), descriptions of gore, profanity, and adult situations, so I recommend it for mature and open-minded audiences only.
