Chasing After My Wife Chapter 165

"I'm fine. Nothing happened. However, my hands were itching so much and I ended up using it earlier." Jillyanna admitted. "Actually, four of your subordinates has been staying with me for a while now. However, the other one was taken for another mission." she commented to see if Winter knew them since she was confident in lending their things.
Winter's smile dropped and so was the atmosphere in her room. She just got back from scouting the area again and from visiting Brown as well. Whenever, she's on a mission, she didn't like answering calls which was the reason Jillyanna couldn't get through her.
"So the things are in your house because the Savannah is there. Hawk and Valkyrie, too." Winter stated.
"That's right." Jillyanna answered her nonchalantly.
"Now that you mention it. I heard from Brown that Travis got a girlfriend named Jillyanna. I never expected it to be you." Her voice no longer held any warmth for her sister. She was enraged with the thought that she ended up with her cousin.
"Sis, you sounded a bit cold to your little sister." Jillyanna joked at her but she was already feeling anxious with the way Winter spoke.
"Jillyanna, you don't intend to use my cousin as your stepping stone for revenge, do you?" Winter's voice was dripping cold and she used her first name.
Jillyanna knew what it means when she's called by her first name. It's a clear warning sign not to do something against anyone important to Winter because she'll fight with you until the last drop of your blood.
"Tell me Avery, is that really how you view me all these years?" she couldn't help herself but feel disappointed. She thought Winter would understand her since she was betrayed, too. But she was mistaken.

"That's not what I mean...No.."
"Right. I remember. I used one of our sisters before and she ended up dead. How did I even forget that! Stupid me!" Jillyanna was mocking herself already. Memories of the past started resurfacing in her mind and she couldn't stop her tears from falling.
"Summer, I didn't mean...I'm sorry..Sum-"
Jillyanna ended the call and turned off her phone. She didn't know how things have happened in the past. But she saw a woman lying on the ground with blood all over her. She was shot on her chest, stomach and on her thighs.
'How did I forget it? Do I have amnesia?' Jillyanna asked herself while trying to calm down. She couldn't be feeling too much emotion because of the baby. She had to calm herself.
Winter called Travis as soon as she can. She didn't know the situation but she knew it wasn't good. It was never her intention to make her remember of the past. They even worked hard for her so that she can forget what happened.
"Winter? What's up." Travis greeted her. It was very rare for his cousin to call him first.
"I heard you got yourself a girlfriend." she responded. She couldn't let him know that she knew who the woman is.
Travis chuckled and stopped what he was doing. "Brown must've told you about her. She's pretty amazing. Her name is Jillyanna Madrid."
"Madrid?" Winter asked in confusion. She was about to believe that Jillyanna truly liked her cousin but it looked like she was just fooling around.
"Hn. I'll introduce her to you soon."
"Did you investigate her?"
"I did."
"Did you find anything weird?"
"Nope. She's just who she is. I knew her since I was young."

"How sure are you that you knew her?" Winter asked again. She didn't know how to tell him the truth. She didn't want him to feel betrayed and she didn't want to agitate Jillyanna even more.
When Jillyanna gets angry or when she's agitated or frustrated or whatever negative emotions she's feeling, she's a difficult opponent. Winter would fight her to the last drop of blood but she's not confident she'd win against her.
"Why are you interested with my girlfriend? You are not swinging that way, right?" Travis joked at her which earned him an earful of curses.
"Check on your girlfriend. Bye!" she ended the call and tried contacting their teacher. She's the only one who can help Jillyanna right now. The problem was, would Jillyanna accept help from them again?
Travis also realized that Jillyanna had been out of his sight for a while now. He walked out of the study room and saw Jillyanna coming upstairs.
"Why were you crying? Did they bully you?" Travis asked her while wiping her tears away.
The three people who heard his question snickered at him. "Who would dare bully your wife?!" Savannah commented while rolling her eyes.
"Such a wife-doting-husband. He's the only one who can tame her." Valkyrie added.
"Is she from a different detachment? How did she know our Lieutenant Colonel?" Hawk asked which made the three of them ponder over it.
Savannah investigated Jillyanna before and there was no connection between her and Winter Avery but she was starting to doubt the result of her investigation. "There are so many Winters in this world. It couldn't possibly be our leader."
"How did she know how to use these things then? Didn't these come from Lt. Col. Avery?" Valkyrie added into the bucket list of questions.
"Don't ask me! I don't know the answer either." Savannah stomped on her feet and left the two of them. She needed to prepare all the things she needed before the mission starts tomorrow.
Travis brought Jillyanna back to their room and let her sit on the bed. "What made you cry?"
"Nothing. I just remembered some things here and there and I couldn't help myself but cry." she lied again. "By the way, I'll visit Savannah tomorrow after class."
"I'll come with you." Travis volunteered.
"No it's fine. You don't have to follow me around. You have to work for our baby, remember? Just give me the bracelet that has the tracking device."
"Are you sure? I'm not confident leaving you alone." Even though he knew how capable she was, he still want to pamper and take care of her like a porcelain doll.

Almost a Good Person
A memory, a memory of a boy who wanted more than pain, of a girl who wanted more than death, and an Isle that should not exist. The Isle of Red is a small, unassuming, quiet place. It is just large enough for a college, a small town, and maybe even a few more unusual sorts of places. Of course, the townsfolk practically know each other as family. Flush-faced regulars can be found toasting just about anything in the Briar's Brew, then, a few streets away, the same haggle of older women stationed themselves on their perch as they did every day from one of the few balconies in Central Square. They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. We teach mostly the same sort of disciplines here, with fantastic and absolutely normal professors.I must conclude that I am quite smitten with myself. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. He knows the weight of reality too intimately, but she will be his true north if only for a short time. A beacon in the storm to show him the stunning pastels and brightness the sun may yet refract through his thinner, sharper pieces. Theoline will lead as she always has- well not always, not yet. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean. And still, there is earth beneath me, a noisy pub down the road from me, and several people clucking conspiratorially on a balcony above me. She knows... that the Isle of Red doesn't belong here. Neither, technically, do I. (Hello!
