I plan to... communicate with Troy.

Ever since I knew he was reading books, my curiosity peaked like it has never been for all of my adult years. Being a librarian in one town, never travelling a lot to other places. Not much has surprised me for the past decade. This... I found something that was never found. In fact, it was never thought possible.

This would probably change our knowledge, our books, our logic.

It was never recorded that a lesser dragon can be as intelligent as he is. There are records from ancient demons and monsters, the first few dragons, kitsunes, and other intelligent monsters, remembering that some monsters actually absorbed more magic essence than we thought, but just haven't hit the power or age to unlock that potential.

The problem is, Troy is not even two weeks old yet. And I'm sure he started learning magic the moment he had the access to all the books in this library. So that meant his intelligence is obtained when he was born. And so is his ability to read, in that case.

Could he be...

No...

That's not possible.

Only the Bermudans and some very rare cases of especials.

Well, it's time to dive into the unknown.

I was spying on £e+mu, as she was having tea like an old lady. She's only 14, but add 100 into that and that is the age she acts. I know she is a shrine maiden, and as a shrine maiden, she has to be very disciplined, but that doesn't give her an excuse to be more boring than a tree. I swear watching a tree grow for years would be less boring than watching her do what she does daily.

But she is also Ge¢s;#yo's best youkai hunter and incident-solver. So occasionally, she would've found very interesting stuff. Although that's not the main reason I spy on her.

I...

Just love annoying her. *grins evilly*

"Yu£a#), I know you're there."

Ouch, she's getting too used to me.

"Heyy~ £e+mu~"

"What do you want, you gap hag. Are you creating trouble again?"

"Maybe~"

She then pulls out her gohei and points it at me. "Then you should have no grudges when I exterminate you now."

"£-£e+mu, there's no need to jump to conclusions like that. Why don't we talk about this over a cup of tea and-"

But then, I felt something breach into my home. It's a soul connection between me and my dimension.

"Actually, hold that tea stuff for a moment £e+mu, I have business to attend to."

"Yu£a#) WAIT!!"

And I just left her with a gap, or most of you all will call it 'portals', to keep my home demon-free.

Yu£a#) is up to something, and I don't like it.

It alarms me more that she would leave me with no clue about it at all.

Normally, when she creates trouble, she drops a clue or two every time we meet so we could have guesses on what wrongdoings she has done. If she doesn't give a clue, that means no one else knows and she doesn't want anyone else to know.

That is the most suspicious thing she has ever done.

As I fumble with my gohei, I started thinking of plans to unravel this mystery she made. And I might need some friends to help too.

I went into my dimension and growled as I snapped, "What do you want this time???"

"Now, now. That isn't how you deal with your partners, partner."

"You're using that term very loosely, demon. If it wasn't for my debt to you, I would've killed you a long time ago."

"Sure you would. Now that I got your undivided attention--and also your irritation--I noticed something different in my world that might have been caused by our actions."

"All you've done is look at the spying orb I have and advise me on candidates, so I assume you're referring to my actions, and not ours?"

"Sour as always, aren't you?"

"There are only a few demons I am truly allied with, and you're not one of them."

Kalrusht frowned. "Anyway, I found this." He handed me two orbs with a recording of two other creatures. I watched them before inspecting their souls and bodies when I found something different about their souls.

"Is this what I think it is?"

"Yes, why did this happen?"

I inspected the borders between the two worlds. Of course, I found the biggest holes located in Bermuda, but then I found the residue of two broken holes, the border having cracks in it. It seems that one was fixed earlier than the others.

So I deduced, "When I reincarnated the boy to be Troy, creating a hole that small requires scrupulous manipulation. As lazy as I am right now, I did it quickly and roughly that it might have created other holes that breaches the laws of time."

"What do you mean by 'breaching the laws of time'?"

"Manipulating barriers can have different effects on other barriers too. A general and simple barrier would normally not have any effects on other barriers, but a barrier as complex as this, a barrier of life and death between two different universes, will certainly affect the other barriers. When I created this hole in the barrier for your 'future pawn', it also created a hole in the barrier of time that the other holes that were created are not created normally, but are created within a window of time. Ever wondered why the first few reincarnates are especials?"

Kalrusht then goes deep in thought, "That does make sense..."

"There are residues of of two holes in the border I worked with. One which is older than the hole I intentionally made, and the other one newer. Both only by a day or two. The kitsune is caused by the first hole, so it would be a day or two older than our dragon is."

"Well, that's all I need to know. I assume this wouldn't affect our plans. Imma go now. Byeee~"

For such a prideful demon, he is very childish around me.

As much as I want to be annoyed of him coming anytime he wants, part of me wants him to come if he has interesting news like this.

Speaking about Troy, how is he?

I decide to check on him and found a man, probably the librarian, behind Troy, with a book in his hand about telepathy.

"Ara ara~ The tea has been spilled. I wonder how~"

As much as I want to get over it, I still miss my family, my friends, school, and some other stuff from my old life.

If anyone is looking at me right now, I'd be like a statue of a sitting dragon staring into the forest, lost in thought. Just like a dragon version of "The Thinker".

After I reminisced a bit, I decided to see what Besley was doing.
