Delvin snapped her fingers, getting Catherine’s attention. “Hello? Anyone home? Kind of important you pay attention to this next part.” She frowned. Watching the slime who was in a daze as she recalled past events, chuckling to herself every now and then. Delvin raised an eyebrow, glancing back to Violet who shrugged in response.
She groaned “fucking young ass newbies…” She then leapt up into the air and slapped Catherine in the face.
Catherine recoiled, feeling the impact snapping her back into reality. “Huh, wa-wait what?” she glanced around as she remembered where she was at.
“Back in the land of the living?” Delvin asked, “we lost you there for a moment… what the hell where you even doing?”
“I… I was remembering the past, but it felt… like so much time had passed… sorry I think I got lost there for a moment” Catherine shook her head, bringing her arm up into her view as she inspected it, turning it from side to side and even morphing it into a few different weapons.
“Riiight, well it’s only really been a minute” Delvin shrugged “Do you want to continue or are you going to continue tripping over nothing?”
The slime shook her head, fixing her hand and lowering her arm “no, sorry. Continue.”
“good”
The imp leaped up and landed on her favorite spot, right on one of Violets petals as Catherine took all the books and briefcases into her body and placed them into her inventory. “Now, after you deal with your dungeon, you will need to find a way off the ship.” She said with a shrug “Should be easy enough, just find a ship, figure out how to drive it, warp to a certain planet which coordinates we have provided in the other briefcase.”
“Wait, how am I supposed to figure out how to drive a ship I have never even seen before?”
“Dumbass.” Delvin frowned, gesturing to the slime “You told me you had the power to take memories of people you eat, yeah? Either do that to a pilot or fucking kidnap one for all I care, up to you.”
Catherine sighed ‘right, that… been so long since it’s been useful.” She thought while Delvin continued.
“After that It is just a matter of gaining access to a certain dungeon on that planet, I have no idea how it has changed since I have been there but I guaranteed It is still alive. Just deliver that briefcase to the dungeon master and he will take it from there.”
Catherine nodded, it seemed simple enough but there was a few things bothering her “How do you know it is still alive? What if the organization took it out?”
The imp laughed “Doubt it, besides me having a way to tell if the dungeon master is alive the Organization won’t blow up that place, I won’t spoil it for you but trust me when I say you are going to see what a real out of control dungeon looks like.” She chuckled.

‘well, more surprises to look forward to…’ Catherine thought “and what about a way to contact them? Will I have to travel down to the final room or?”
Delvin waved her off “Just go a few layers down and start shouting my name while waving around that briefcase, if that don’t work just do what you did to get my attention. Though he might just flat out kill you instead of dragging your ass to him to yell at you” She shrugged “Just keep going down while shouting my name till he notices, shouldn’t be that hard.”
‘Ok, simple, just piss off who ever it is running the dungeon, deliver the package and then…’
“And then what?” Catherine asked “I’m just dropping this off? How is this supposed to stick it to these bastards here if I deliver a package to someone far away?”
Delvin sighed “Starting to wonder just how much of people’s brains you do keep when you eat them…” She leaned back against Violet, unamused “He’ll handle the rest, Just do as your told and be a good little delivery girl for us yeah? This is just a missing piece he needs to fire off a plan decade in the making, just no way to get it to him, till you came along.”
Catherine stared at her, still unsure that what was inside this small briefcase was that important, but she was already set in this plan, and if anything, she did owe them for all the help. “Alright, got it.” She said. “Anything else? Before I go and clear your dungeon?”
The imp chuckled “Nope, and remember, you are only after a few specific monsters.” She said then her eyes widened, and she snapped her fingers “Oh right! The rare one.” She then looked up to Violet “did you get that description?”
The plant girl nodded, raising up a white piece of paper with a few simple words on it.
“Great! Thank you my dear.” Delvin jumped up and snatched the paper, then handed it to Catherine “Everything on the little fucker, its honestly a pest at this point.”
Catherine took the paper, reading the lines of text.
Creature: Froach.
Description: A small yellow eyed blue beetle about 2 inches in length. It’s shell turns red as it raises it’s body heat till the area around it catches on fire, very fast, hunts other smaller beetles and burns anything it considers “trash” and runs away from everything else.
Location: rarely appears on floors 35-39.
Note: I hate these things, Delvin spawned them in the lava section because she thought they would be cool… she was wrong, so very, very wrong! turns out they hate how hot the lava sections are and invaded the lower floors and started breeding… now they get everywhere, lay their eggs in my branches, and will not listen to a word Delvin says after she eliminated the ones she originally spawned! I hate them! I told Delvin it was a bad Idea to spawn something without even reading the description! Thankfully, we have the few that are left trapped on those floors but STILL!!! THE DESCRIPTION EVEN SAYS THEY HATE EXTREME HEAT AND BREED LIKE CRAZY!!! Just, WHY, Delvin will not spend anymore resources on getting rid of all of them because they are “contained” well SHE doesn’t have to live with them using her body as a place to lay their young! I have to practically beg anyone to go to those spots and clean them out and it is HORRIBLE!!! And then there is the damage with them burning everything they hate! Like what-

Catherine blinked, taken aback by the sheer length of the note section. She looked up to see Violet staring at her with teary, pleading eyes. She then glanced slightly below her to Delvin, who was relaxing without a care in the world on Violet’s petal as she waited for Catherine to finish.
Catherine returned her gaze to Violet, her teary eyes now seemingly bigger as she desperately begged for Catherine to help her in her personal plight “…I’ll see what I can do…But I expect a reward and I don’t have much time.”
The plant girl lit up, nodding happily before raising up one finger, then switching to two, then switching to one again before giving her a thumbs up.
‘I’m guessing that means as much as I can on either one or two floors is fine?’ Catherine thought before absorbing the paper into her body “Alright Delvin, if that’s everything I’m off.”
Delvin perked up. “Alright, stop wasting your time here and get going!” she said, hopping up on the flower petal and snapping her fingers, the tree in the center of the room shook, growing in size and splitting open to reveal a passageway “Since all that took a fair bit of your time, this is my last favor to you, this passage will take you straight to floor 34, the last floor where you can get your heat immunity”
Catherine smirked “Thanks, see you guys on the way up!” She said, going down on all fours as her body morphed into a large white wolf.
“If they make it this far In before calling you, we wont even be here. Remember, you never saw us, nothing happened, you were just killing monsters and triggering every trap on your way down like a goddamned asshole!” Delvin said. “Never! Do that again you fucking asshole!” She yelled snapping her fingers one last time.
The ground below Catherine instantly flattened and lowered itself into a slope facing the exit “W-wait, this isn’t! Shit!” Catherine yelled, losing her footing and sliding down into the exit.
“See you later fucker!” Catherine heard Delvin yell, her voice growing further and further away.
Catherine was picking up speed, rapidly descending the stair way turned slide. “Immature imp!” She barked, but then quickly gave up, at least she was approaching her goal faster now.
“So, I have to quickly find something that lives in lava, eat it for the skill, then spend the rest of the time killing the froaches and anything else I can find before the time limit I don’t know expires” Catherine softly laughed to herself “should be fine… Oh here is my stop.”
Catherine saw a rapidly approaching red light as she sped down the slide and as it came closer she soon found herself in a large cavern that housed an ocean of lava with small islands and pillars rising out of the lava, but more importantly she saw the lava she was rapidly approaching at the edge of what little land she had left after coming speeding out of the stairway.
“Shit shit shit!” Catherine firmly planted all four of her feet into the ground, efforts that proved futile as she skidded across the ground, her legs being shaved away by the friction “Fuuuuck! How fast did that fucking imp-!!” She cut herself off as the shoreline quickly approached, running out of time she cursed “SCREW IT!” She yelled, forming new legs that she then used to leap into the air at the last second. Having delayed her lava bath she quickly scanned for more options, seeing a pillar in the distance a fair bit of ways away she extended a slimy limb from her body and swung it towards the pillar.
When the tentacle reached the pillar she detached her wolf body from the limb, abandoning the body to have it slam into the surface of the lava and engulfed in it, a mini explosion happening as the body rapidly evaporated under the surface.
Now sitting on the top of a stone pillar, the slime stared at the explosion, a cold sweat running down its oval body “…Delvin does know if I die all her shit she gave me goes down with me too….right?” She sighed, turning away from the bubbling lava, another explosion happened as she forcefully put it out of view “Well… I survived again, now to go fishing…”
She looked around the literal hellscape, nothing but lava, rocks, and the explosion she refused to acknowledge anymore. “now, how to do that…”

Marrow
Marrow was old... older than me or you. Older than the nation he lived in. And older than anyone he knew. Which is not surprising, because he did not know anyone else. He had been sitting, or perhaps leaning is the more apt expression, in a closet for many, many years, and had done nothing but stare. But eating, or rather chewing, a spider opened up another world to him. A world with a voice that was talking to him - to HIM! Marrow did not get what the voice was saying, but that was secondary at this point. And Marrow started to feel restless. Nuff said. If you like a sometimes quirky skeleton as the main character and want to ride along for its coming of age, or perhaps rather coming of sapience story... give it a shot. It is a litrpg context with skills, levels, heroes and monsters... and a skeleton. Not sure yet how fast the skeleton will level... we'll have to wait and see. As a disclaimer... this is my secondary novel... my main story is ongoing and most of my time is dedicated to that. As such, new chapters will, at first, be rather infrequent and irregular. If things go well, I may shift more attention to the story, but we shall see how things go.

This is my first attempt at writing something of more substantial length and would be incredibly grateful to receive feedback and advice. The plan is to post at least a chapter a week and more if I find time. Also, in order to not disappoint any expectations; the story plays in a fictional world reminiscent of the real world 17th to 19th century with some supernatural elements, but no obvious magic or game-like system.
