《Magus Of Darkness》Chapter 78: Inheritance?
Adrius was interested, this was not something common. A magus apprentice teaching mortals, this goes beyond every rule the magus of old put in stone.
This magus needs to be punished, they did not just break one of the most important rules about being a magus. But they disrespected every academy in doing so.
People like these need to be punished and made an example of, you do not just teach mortals how to become magus. This is not acceptable, this is the equivalent of slapping the magus of old in the face.
He would gladly do this mission, but there are some things to consider first: “ I would gladly kill this traitor, but what do I get in return for killing everybody in that organisation?”
Eve looked surprised for a moment after his acceptance: “Well, we could offer you anything in our reach.”
Adrius knew it was the time for him to ask for something that he wanted for a long time now: “I want the official magus meditation technique of the darkness element.”
Eve looked at him like he was crazy: “ What?! Are you out of your mind, this is an academy treasure and I won’t even dream of giving it to you. And I don’t have the authority to give it to anyone, considering I’m still a magus apprentice and not a magus yet.”
Adrius knew that he must press more: “ I don’t care, I want a meditation technique so I can advance, it is not my problem.”
Eve’s face was turning red from sheer anger: “ It is impossible, demand another thing.”
“Well, then you need to find another person to do your job. Because I’m not moving from this place until I get what I want”
Adrius saw that Eve was on the verge of bursting: “ I said, order another thing. We can’t give you that”

Adrius did not hesitate: “Well, then get out of my room. I will not do this mission.”
Eve stood fully now as she opened her mouth to shout that he was a traitor to the academy, but a low and tamed voice cut her before she could speak: “W...would a m..map of a possible inheritance be acceptable?”
Then Adrius remembered that Sophie was still in the room, she was silent throughout the conversation. He then registered her words: ‘Inheritance? This could be a dangerous thing but very fruitful’
He then looked at her and she immediately lowered her gaze: ‘Good, she is learning.’
“What type of inheritance?” he asked, trying not to show the excitement he feels inside.
Sophie spoke in a low tone so as not to offend Adrius, Adrius smiled at this. He liked taming humans: “ It is unknown to us, but the only thing that we know is that it is a darkness inheritance and has been in my family for generations, but no one deemed it worthy of seeking after.”
Adrius thought about this for a second, why would a magus leave an inheritance willingly. There must be something wrong with it or they don’t have enough information and don’t want to take the risk. So he asked: “Why would a magus family leave such an inheritance and not take it, there must be something wrong with it. And tell the truth, I know when you are lying” Of course he doesn't know if she is lying, but she doesn’t know that. So what is the harm?
Sophie plays with her skirt for some seconds and answers: “Well, some of my family, magus apprentices, adventured there and never came back. So it kinda became a cursed thing in our family and no one wants to follow it.”

‘Well that makes sense, no one wants to venture to the unknown, and surely the official magus will not use their own valuable time to venture there.’
He thought while counting the pros and cons of him following this inheritance. It could definitely help him and maybe even he could find something that makes him special than others.
‘Nah, it seems too cliche, I go to an inheritance thinking it is nothing but then it appears it is actually an inheritance of a great man or woman, and I become their descended or something like that’ There was a lot of stories like that in his old world, and he hated the trope. Because honestly it didn’t make sense. Like why a location that has been in the same place for thousands of years only gets discovered by a 16 year old or a child.
‘FOCUS’ He shouted in his brain, he sometimes got carried away in his thinking.
Adrius then looked at Eve and Sophie who were watching him intently: “ Deal, I will take the map and every info you have on it. And in exchange I will kill these people. But wait, you said: people with your skill, what do you mean by that?” He asked Eve.
Eve calmed herself: “ Our informant told us that the leader of the organisation, the rank 3 magus apprentice, is going to wed in 2 months. And we want you to kill him at the wedding, because it seems like everyone in the organisation will be there. And what is better timing to poison them?”
Adrius thought the idea had some sense, it could be fast and easy. But he feels like he knows or has heard of an assaination in a wedding. He can’t remember who it was that died, but it was someone important. He can’t really remember whether it was in this world or his old world, but it seems kinda familiar.
Seeing everything done Adrius spoke: “Now ladies if that is all, then I would like to work. I have a wedding to prepare for, but if you would like, my bed is open tonight.” He winked at Sophie, he saw her flinch and it only made him grin wider. He loves being a piece of shit.

Peerless Hegemon
Warning: Can be quite tearjerking and depressing (or so others say). If you are weak to that and hates that kind of thing, then this story is not for you === Ye Feng lived two lives in one lifetime. First, he basked in the light of Righteousness, becoming an idol of peace and justice. Second, he trod the mired path of the Darkest Path, becoming an object of fear and death. One lifetime, Two Identities, countless experiences, still without purpose. A meaningless existence. An empty husk. In his selfishness of wanting to fill the void in him, he became the catalyst that destroyed Reality. He now controlled everything, ultimate power, uncontestable by none. But he cast it away, to be reborn anew. With a new name and a family, his goal was to understand, his place. To understand how to no longer feel empty. With his family consisting of a Reincarnated Twin Sister and Parents with inscrutable pasts, his desire was not that of grandeur. In this lifetime, he wishes not to hold power, not to gain eternal life, nor control of everything, he only wishes to live, and hopefully look at sunrise with a smile on his face. === Disclaimer: The story focuses on the Main Character’s emotional and personality growth. He is someone who is, obviously OP in some perspectives but almost crippled in others. He is not soft and does not spare anyone because it is “Bad” so expect that there would be genocide and some bloody encounters. I want this instead of just the MC’s search for life and its complication. Where Philosophy and values exist. A story where every action has proper consequences, and not everything can be conquered with a single punch (unless it can be, no need for an unnecessary complication if it can be avoided). Further Notes: This is a story that will gradually increase in word counts and become Chunkier as it progresses and will almost never be below 2000 words, but if the word count will only lengthen the chapter at the expense of a finished tale, it could and would be cut off before 2000 mark), give it a try, it won’t disappoint (I hope). And if by chance that you like it, giving a good Rating and Review will be encouraging to me and possible readers. Schedule: Monday and Friday If you want to read ahead and/or support me to creating this story, you can do it through my Patreon (link below the next chapter button.) Grimoire: Retake
"Reality is different than a story or a game." That's what my best friend used to say to the otaku me all the times and I myself knew full well that it's true. Well, that was until now... Why you ask? Let me ask you instead, what if you woke up one day, remembered your past life, then found out you are a harem member of a RPG game? The harem MC is childhood friend A and the main rival is my brother B. Hah! And that's just the beginning! You are mistaken if you think that's all. How about an amazing finishing touch of having found out later that reality does not follow the original storyline but might actually be the improved sequel version of the RPG? Hahaha, God, I'm laughing tears of despair....
