“Enough of that, now ladies can you please tell me why are you here? And don’t disrespect my intelligence by saying: for the girl you killed. If you were really after me about that, then you could hold on until tomorrow or you would not have been alone. I would expect some people from The Order Hall would accompany you to arrest me. So I ask again, why are you here?” He asked in that disgusting voice that gives her the creeps. She hates him, she doesn’t know why, but she does. No, actually scratch that, she knows why. The man is dangerous, he is unstable and dangerous to everything he walks past. He only leaves ruins everywhere he goes. Maybe not immediately but if given enough time he will ruin the place he took residence in.

And she could not let that happen, she may be a dark magus and doesn’t care much about mortal lives. But even she knows that the way Adrius treats mortals is not acceptable, IF the rumors that are speaking of his behavior are true.

She does not know, maybe he spread these rumors to make his reputation more scary. It will not surprise her if he did it, the man is a full blown narcissist. He thinks himself a god, and everything should bow before his feet. And the way he suggested that they came to him in the middle of the night to have sex with him. Like hell, she would prefer to kill herself first. And he also called them sluts, which only proved his vail and degenerate nature. She has never a person that says such things in front of her face. Of course most of the people are afraid of her because she is the order hall, but that doesn’t mean that they didn’t insult her sometimes. But this man just insulted her virtue and honor in a single sentence.

Eve was not a person who let their feelings control them, but at that moment that evil man insulted her she couldn’t control her anger and lashed out like a little girl. She even threatened to cut his manhood and feed it to him.

She was shocked, not because of her lashing out, but because of the words she used. She was raised to be always respectful and not let others see the worst in her. But this man erased everything she learned in just one sentence. Does she hate him this much? She honestly doesn’t know.

‘Mother would be disappointed with my behavior’ She thought, her mother was always respectful and elegant when she talked with people, even people she hated. After all you won’t live long if you could not hide your emotions, whether you are a magus or a mortal.

Her mother taught her the lesson well, and she just discarded it in a fit of rage. She would most definitely be disappointed in her.

She looked at Sophie and nodded, Sophie then opened her mouth: “Adrius, there has been bad blood between us. By us I mean, me and Eve against you. And honestly we need your assistance in something. So we are here to make peace with each other and we are ready to accept terms if you have some. But it should be terms we can accomplish.” Sophie tried her best to look as friendly as possible.

If Adrius was shocked by the statement it did not show in his dark eyes. Not like anything shows in his dark eyes. He moved his hands lazyly and a dagger came toward Sophie. It was so fast that she was not sure she could stop it in time. Sophie shrieked and tried to back before the dagger hit her. But suddenly Sophie froze in her place, Eve didn’t know what happened and was ready to interfere but before she could do that. The dagger was five inches in front of Sophie’s face. Eve lost all hope, Sophie will die here, and she will die because she was not fast enough.

But the dagger stopped an inch from her face, Eve felt some relief, and immediately sensed around Sophie. Confirming her suspicions, Sophie was bound by invisible hands.

She could not hold it in her anymore: “ What the hell is your problem?! Why did you attack us when we didn’t do anything?”

Adrius only shrugged: “ First of all, I’m perfectly healthy. Second, I did not attack you, if I attacked you then Sophie Gaius would have been a lifeless corpse on the floor. Third, I wanted to show her how easily I could kill her so she would use a better tone when speaking with her superiors.”

Eve was confused, what tone? Sophie used a friendly and respectful tone when talking. Then it clicked! This is just an excuse, this man is a sadist and loves seeing people afraid. So why not make an enemy of his afraid for her own life.

She just knows that his man is definitely aroused by Sophie’s fear. What a sick man!

He waves again and the dagger floats back to him, he starts to spin it on his fingertips. Amused by everything that happened. Eve looks at Sophie and sees that Sophie had a look of complete horror on her face. Sophie is still rank 2 magus apprentice so when Adrius a rank 3 attacked she most definitely thought that her life was over. There were streaks of tears on her face, she really looked scared and Eve pitied her. But not so much, after all it was her fault that she was this weak. “Now, that is out of the way. I’m ready to accept your peace treaty, but I gotta know what you want me to do and what do I get from it.” He said while still playing with the dagger. She really wanted to take it and shove it in his eye socket. She calmed herself and answered: “ We got a mission recently and this mission needs a specific set of skills. And you are the only person that has this set of skills. And if you accept this mission then it could bring you a lot of benefits.”

“What is the mission?”

She took a breath before she spoke: “ We heard from a trusted source that a new organisation has appeared in Valaq, Valaq is a city east-west of the Raven academy. This organization it seems was founded by a rank 3 magus apprentice. And this organization trains mortals to become magus apprentice, your mission is to infiltrate this organisation then kill everybody there.”
