Everything was going well, his plan was going smoothly. It has been a week since the extermination of Blood Raven and the Saloman family. And today was the day he would get what he wanted.

In the past week he has hinted to Veronica that he would like to marry her, and as expected from someone who is naive and has just lost all of her family. She agreed with enthusiasm, she would get a family after all.

And today was the day they would get married and Veronica would take his family name. And from this day on, the Caseo family would be the ruler of the Firebird city.

Even with all of this, he was not happy. Well, he was a little bit. But there was a bigger part of him that was saying: ‘Why are you happy? Are you happy because you manipulated some mortals to do your job? You are a magus for fuck sake’

As much as he hated to cut himself short, he had to. Because honestly it was not a big deal if compared to the vast magus world. Like if he met a magus in the future and told him that he took over a mortal city with only his brain, then the magus would laugh or kill him on the spot because he is filthing the noble name of magus.

Magus were proud people, and the moment they cross the threshold of being a magus apprentice, then they would lose all interest in the mortal world. And if a magus still interacts with mortals as equals or even talks with them in not a commanding manner, then the magus would be labeled as a traitor and a mortal-lover.

Magus built their empire with their own hands and they take great pride in that, and for them mortals didn’t do shit. But they lived and used the resources that the magus fought and bled to gain. But they don’t hate them, not the type of killing all of them hate. No, because without mortals there is no new magus, because believe it or not. Everybody is born a mortal. Well, except the Xyron race. The babies are already born with their power at rank 1 official magus.

But to the universe that the universe exterminated them, because they were disturbing the balance of the universe. And the only thing that remains from them is their language that is named after them.

The universe didn’t interfere much in the world, but when something becomes very dangerous to the existence of the universe, then it will interfere.

Adrius stopped his line of thinking, if he was to think about that then he would take years just sitting in a remote place to think and understand the philosophy of the universe.

And he didn’t have years to give, yeah he can live to 150 years, but that doesn’t mean that he will spend his years just sitting and thinking and not training. Because every second he spends not training his enemies and future enemies get stronger. And he doesn’t want that.

He adjusted his hair a little bit, it was cut short so it won’t bother him. He was not wearing a mask today, but he will be using a mind trick that will make everybody see shadows or mist covering his face. Well except for Veronica, she would be able to see his face. After all, she is his wife.

‘Who the fuck thought that I Adrius Caseo will get married? I mean yeah I will kill Veronica the moment the child is born, but still i would be married for 9 months. That is a lot of time’

Adrius offered the marriage because of an idea he had in his mind. First with this marriage, he would legally be the lord of the city. Second, when he controls the city fully he can conquer other cities and make his own empire. And he would use the Raven academy support to do it. Because he is pretty sure that the Raven academy would like an empire where the ruler is a student of theirs and with that he can provide them with more students from his empire. So it will be a win-win for them both.

He looked in the mirror, he wore a black magus robe, but this one didn’t have the Raven academy sigil on it, but it had his own sigil. A black snake with red eyes hissing.

In the past months he has grown a beard and he has to say, it made him look very good. It was not a very thick beard but it was thick enough for his age. After all he is only 17, a child in magus standards. In mortal world 17 may be a fully grown man with a wife and child, but in magus world 17 is still a child. And honestly anyone under 50 years can be considered a child or a teenager in magus standard.

It is weird, but magus are beings that live for thousands of years so their time prescription is a lot more complicated than the normal mortal way.

Adrius being satisfied with his looks he went out of his room and went to the great hall. Entering the great hall he was met with a lot of people that were here to see the new lord and pay respect to their marriage.

Everyone bowed when he entered, even if they didn’t know he was a magus before. After seeing his magic that was covering his face they definitely knew now.

He then went to the center of the hall and waited for Veronica, it didn’t take long for the door to open and Veronica to enter. She was being escorted by none other than Hadith, his faithful slave-knight.

Hadith looked intimidating, he was 2,6 meters and wearing his black armor with his red cape.

Adrius could easily say that Hadith is his pride, he made Hadith a monster in human flesh. He was a great knight but his power is over the charts. He was not as strong as Grand knights but still, he was strong.

His attention was captured by Veronica, she was wearing a white dress with a low neckline. Her golden hair was flowing behind her. She looked stunning, if Adrius was not more focused on his own benefits then he would have been smiling silly at the idea of marrying such beauty.

She came beside him and a noble that has the most power after the city lord stepped up.

“My lords and ladies, today we are here to witness the marriage of our city’s rose to His Highness Adrius Caseo. If anyone would like to say something against this marriage, do it now.”

Of course no one spoke, not because they liked the marriage but because they were scared.

“Okay then, Lady Veronica, do you take this man as your husband? And do you promise to stand by his side in good and bad times?”

Veronica smiled: “ I do”

The noble then turned to Adrius: “Your Highness, do you take this woman as your wife? And do you promise to stand by her in bad and good times?”

Adrius said in his usual cold tone: “ I do.”

“Then, by this declaration I pronounce you husband and wife.”

Everyone in the hall started to clap, Adrius turned to Veronica and kissed her, sealing their marriage.
